So, I've just remembered that Santa Claus travels from East to West so he'll be picking one of these up in England on his way to Ireland.
I hope life is treating you well Mike, you're looking good.
    Best Wishes, Brendan.

Hi Mike Enjoyed your review of The Hope XL Vase steady. An excellent piece of design and engineering as is all of Simon Hope equipment. I had the opportunity to view it on Simon"s stand at this years Harrogate show. Enjoyed a good chat with Simon in person. I bought one for myself and another for my mate who turns large segmented pieces. Both my mate and myself are extremely pleased with the excellent build quality and performance. Paired up with Simons Easy arm hollowing Jig makes the turning of large, medium and even smaller vases, pots and vessels a secure, safe and most pleasurable turning experience.

Hi Jim, so pleased to hear that you and your mate are happy with the steady. If your going to Newark next March I'm on Simons stand, it would be great to meet up again. Cheers. Mike

I'll be getting one of these. Thanks for the excellent review Mike. I've been waiting for a UK manufacturer to produce a quality steady for larger pieces for a long time, and I'm so glad it's Simon that's done it. Looks real quality. Oh my poor wallet....

Very impressive ,Mike, as we have come to expect of Simon Hope. The rigidity is wonderful, and assembly in no way a challenge. I have built three rests to different designs, and only one is really stable and so simple to set up. Thanks. Bernard.

Great review Mike, I must talk to Simon about fitting it to my Zebrano takes a lot of ply to achieve the stability of that steel.

That is an outstanding piece of equipment. It looks bullet proof. It certainly goes together easily. 👍👍And it was assembled and demonstrated by an outstanding demonstrator. No fumbling around with this one. No frills just straight forward assembly. And you demonstrated it's function admirably.👍👍 The only drawback that I can see is that Simon-Hope does not ship to the US.😦😦 Thank you for sharing Mike. Have a great day and stay safe🙂🙂

    • @MikeWaldt

Hi Glen, it really is a superb piece of kit. Unfortunately the import duty and other costs involved with shipping to the US, would make the cost prohibitive. Thanks for watching and commenting. Take care my friend. Cheers. Mike
