As someone who spent most of their working life in the hospitality industry, I like the idea of 'if you enjoyed your visit, tell everyone. If you didn’t enjoy it, tell us so we can put it right'. No business is perfect and a quiet word or an honest - and fair - review is not unreasonable in my opinion.
Give us your true opinions. Filtering to please a few critics would go against your otherwise open and honest way of narrating. It is one of the facets of your channel that appeals to us. IMHO. 😊

Loved the Bishop’s Palace tour, Carol..must be so strange going for a lovely mooch around on your own only to actually be accompanied by a few thousand subs going with you!! Hope the person pulling the strings in the cafe reads this..if her/his staff have to keep going to ask for things, no wonder they are too scared to make eye contact as they don’t have the authority to make their own decisions. So sad how staff are treated in some places. Can’t wait for next tour x

Firstly, we loved the video, and sad to hear that the rest of the episodes have been lost - that must be frustrating. We went to that cafe in question twice and had a good experience both those times...but are not surprised by your experience as it was a bit chaotic in there. On the point of leaving negative (but honest) reviews, I think what it comes down to is the nature in which you are doing it. You were filming, and weren't treated warmly as you were filming - this is fair to have on camera as they had every opportunity to give you good service. But, if you went from place to place leaving bad reviews, and missing out the positive ones then it would be different. From what we have seen you guys are looking for the good in all aspects of life, as well as eateries. Hence why your channel and your dear selves are adored by so many people across the UK and the world. Can't wait for the next series, always brightens up the darkest night 💚
Losing the footage was a bit of a shock especially the backup. We went to that cafe as we had seen you had enjoyed it. Our negative review rate is tiny in comparison to promoting good places. I must have served thousands in the 3 years I worked in the pub restaurant. 👍

My husband and I plan to retire to the Isle of Man shortly which is how we first found your channel. Meeting you has been a highlight of 2021. You have become like friends. We enjoy your straightforward commentary. I especially enjoy seeing you prepare meals, and I have learned to use a lot less water when cooking 😊. Hope you’ll please detail more of your one pot meals. Regarding the lack of hospitality at your breakfast place today I feel mentioning the name could (and should) encourage management to improve. The food was good but lack of customer service should never happen. Like you said a quick smile, hello, welcome, an acknowledgment costs nothing. As Roaming into retirement commented, those that give bad service will continue to do so and your telling your experience will hopefully make them think about it. Anyways. Thanks for the trip down memory lane, as a child I stayed at Nolton Haven farm (where you watched the little dog keeping cool in the water running down to the sea) they had caravans along the front facing the sea. The Canton family still own the farm & run holiday lets there. We used to walk up the road in the evening to the scent of hedges full of honeysuckle, glorious place with a safe beach.

I’m a newbie to your channel and like your relaxed presentation.. We will often make observations and comment on how we are greeted and treated whenever we visit a pub or restaurant for example. A greeting when you enter is always nice but some places just don’t understand the basics do they ! 👍🍻

I remember when there was no Cleddau Bridge and we used to travel on one of the two ferries from Neyland to Pembroke Dock. I used to love going across on the "fairies" for some reason as a child I couldn't say ferry and always called them fairies. Believe they were called Cleddau King and Cleddau Queen.

Another great vlog. Carols piece on the Bishops Palace was great, she’s certainly very confident. Go Carol! With the restaurant, you’ve got be as honest as possible. No point in naming & shaming, that solves nothing & can easily come back & bite you in the backside further down the line. Customer service is everything. It costs nothing to be polite x

I remember when there was no Cleddau Bridge and we used to travel on one of the two ferries from Neyland to Pembroke Dock.
I used to love going across on the "fairies" for some reason as a child I couldn't say ferry and always called them fairies. Believe they were called Cleddau King and Cleddau Queen.

Definitely tell it as you find it. We have been in a few places like that and would have been glad to have had a forewarning. People running hospitality businesses need to remember what the word Hospitality means.

We have walked out of a few as well. I consider those lucky escapes. I am pretty sure this place we had to pay when we ordered.
