  • Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (IATA: SAW, ICAO: LTFJ) (Turkish: İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen Uluslararası Havalimanı) is one of two international airports serving Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey. Located 32 km (20 mi) southeast[1] of the city center, Sabiha Gökçen Airport is in the Asian part of the bi-continental city and serves as the hub for AnadoluJet and Pegasus Airlines. The facility is named after Sabiha Gökçen, adoptive daughter of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and the first female fighter pilot in the world.[3] Although Istanbul Airport, located 63 km (39 mi) west of the European side of Istanbul, is larger, Sabiha Gökçen is still one of the largest airports in the country.

      @@citiestravel so just to let you know the passport control took 20 minutes and it was pretty much full there by that time my bag was ready. picked it up and instanly went to the check in in which somehow no one used the automatic express line so i got through that in less than 5 minutes. the last passport control was for whatever reason completely empty and i got through in no time which left me around 2 hours free from the 3 hour self transfer. thank you again

    How long did immigration take for you? I have a flight arriving at 6:45am and trying to catch a train at 9:49 at Söğütlüçeşme (an hour away by metro). Do you think that 45 minutes from when I land is enough to get out of the airport?

    Hi, I am also travell to sabiha gokcen soon, but have layover (transit). Do you know if I will land in arrives or departures plane?

    • @citiestravel
      @citiestravel  9 месяцев назад +4

      Hi.
      For the layover, when you enter inside the airport building it'll be an arrivals area. But don't follow the signs ( passport control or baggage claim)
      Follow the signs ( Transit) which ll leads you to the departure side .
      There are available airport staff who also say transit goes this side , you can take help from them as well.
      Have a save travel 🧳. Good luck
