He gave Montalvo to the county to be used as a park and for the development of the arts. Hakone Gardens is really interesting and was worth a trip when it was free. I went there in 2016 and it was something like 15 bucks a head to get in there.
Seems a bit unrepresentative of the racial demographics of the area, at least nowadays. For any prospective home buyers, drive through these areas yourself before buying, and look at the people in the cars around you, if you want a more accurate picture of such demographics. I grew up in the area during the 80s and 90s. It's completely changed now, with the White Flight. Parents who raised kids here during the 70s, 80s, and 90s have children who can't afford to live here to be around their parents. Many of the parents are retired now, and sitting on homes that are worth many, many times more than what they paid. Meanwhile, they're dealing with worse traffic, and a complete invasion of immigrants outside of their native Western culture who are lusting after the financial opportunities offered by Big Tech, and whose children have filled the surrounding public schools with grade-obsessed automatons. Thus, one-by-one, these natives are cashing out to the hoards, and leaving for more desirable areas, where the quality of life and sense of community is greater.
