From a Jets fan who grew up watching Glenn play as a player. I never imagined I'd live to see this day where he'd be hired back as HC! Maybe time rly is a flat circle? 😳🤔 lol. But rly, this was great to watch & learn more about Glenn's style of coaching etc, especially since I didn't always watch many Lions games, other than the handful or so that were primetime ones. Biggest issue I had with Saleh was his whole, "players policing themselves" thing. It got way too out of hand with the penalties etc. Brian Costello of the NY Post said, Glenn's a good balance of "loving up his guys when they need it" & holding them accountable. I think this is the way to go for us to curtail penalties & not nessesarily go extremely the other way, with hiring a guy who's a disciplinarian. I've heard too that Glenn plans on bringing in senior advisors since he's a first time HC. This makes me feel a lot better about hiring him, because I know a lot of Jets fans didn't want a 1st time HC again. However, I think as long as there's some kind of senior advisor on Glenn's staff, especially his first 2 years, then I think things should go ok. That was something Saleh had planned originally as well, to have Greg Knapp as a senior advisor, however when he passed away, for some reason he didn't bother replacing him. Also tbh I thought the excuse Saleh gave for that was pretty weak. "Too many cooks in the kitchen". Like, my guy, that's the Head Chef! He's THE most important dude in the kitchen! Talk about the blind leading the blind with that staff without a senior advisor trying to groom a rookie QB. 🤦 Anyway, educational stuff. I'm optimistic. Thanks for the video! 😄👍
@@furiyamu appreciate it, and thank you for the insights on Saleh, likewise I’ve always had a rather outside perspective on the Jets (aside from Aaron Rodgers content being force fed to me) so I was always curious where things went wrong. Saleh still seems like a good coach that eventually could succeed as a HC, but needs some more time to develop.
Those are fair critiques of Glenn. Most Jets fans would prob agree he was a good, not great, DC. Though I would say it’s fair to remember that D was the doormat of the league for decades. Wish they wouldn’t have been so decimated by injuries this year. Poor time to have their worst game of the year. Good vid tho. Always pull for Det.
As a Bears fan, coaching makes a tremendous difference, but the players make it easier. You still have the best core in the NFL, even with insane amount of injuries. The divisional loss was literally over more turnovers than the Commies. I still see Lions in first along with good additions in the coordinator positions
I’ve only met one lions fan in person. I really feel for that franchise. That being said I think it was a cheap move even cowardly to leave Dan C. Then BJ goes to Chi give me a break what a sellout
You should check out a guy named Dan Quinn. His D got blown out (40+ points) in the playoffs one year and the next year he coached his team to an improbable NFC championship game. One game doesn’t define a career. Still sucks tho.
Hey mate, good vid. Well spoken.
As an Australian Jet fan I'm happy that we have him.
I'm happy he wants to be here

@@knuckleh3ad I think it’s also fair to expect Glenn will be a better HC than DC, he’s more suited to that role because of his leadership qualities

Even with Ben Johnson and even if he is a success there will still be no success with the current ownership all bears fans know this

And was it cheap when dan left his old job. Grow up. Where do you think new head coaches come from?
The lions will be much better off without those idiot coaches.why would any team hire them after that perfomance

Your a lions fan who thinks those guys were holding you back?
You can have him. AG play calling was sad. Bend don’t break. Gave up 45 points in a game that meant the most all season.
