    Man I don’t think there’s another video that’s ever been made that demonstrates South Louisiana quite like this.. Great job brother 🤘🏼

    I’ve also caught bass, tuna, salmon and trout! I was born into fishing because of my fathers love of fishing! Thank God! Can’t wait to fish again, one day.

    Love watching you fish! I love catfish! Have caught garr, snakes, and even ate some frog legs! But I’m an old lady now, and would be fishing still, if my husband didn’t have a stroke in 2019. And I’m a Cali girl! But my Dad was born and raised in Mississippi, and I still have family in Louisiana! 🥰🥰🥰 Love your show! Thank you!

    I went on a ridge trip down there but always heard about big Mike’s and Blake’s amazing ridge trips. Those are some good dudes and I’m sure there were a lot of shenanigans taking place when the sun went down.

    This looks awesome it’s great to be with a bunch of guys like that. I just went on an annual trip to Joshua Tree with 50+ guys to a friends property with an 80 year old adobe house and an incredible outdoor kitchen. He built a full size movie screen with stage and we watched movies, live music, shooting guns and lots of great food. Two guys flew their planes out and gave people rides over the park.

    I've never done pickle marinated catfish but I will try it. because I marinate my fried deer meat in pickle juice & we live it. especially my kids. I also marinate my fried cube steak in pickle juice.

    Jared, yes I've heard of marinating fish before frying them. "Clauson," is what I've seen most. It was on Derrmeatfordinner, Blue Gage and on Brook Crist Outdoors.

      Personally, I did not think it was necessary. I like the taste of fried catfish and I typically dip in ketchup. It wasn't bad or anything, just a little extra when it's already good.

    Jared good video as usual. Wish u would’ve got our hunt the evening before. I worked my butt off in that spot lol. I was so mad I couldn’t get u any good footage that following morning. But literally no water equals no ducks. Next trip will be better prepared. Had fun and let’s make a hunt soon.

      I used to work at chic fil a when I was in high school. That was the secret. All the grilled chicken was marinated in pickle juice. I did it with some crappie and bluegill a few weeks ago, not bad but it didn’t need it.

    YEP!!!! I soak my catfish in pickle juice or Frank's Redhot for 30 minutes or so. It will change the minds of those people who say I won't eat catfish because it's too "Fishy" tasting.

    If you’re going to marinate in pickle juice you need to do it overnight. It acts like a brine and brings and makes it juicy. 10 minutes won’t do anything.

    • @OutsidetheLevees
      @OutsidetheLevees  2 года назад

      It was plenty long enough for pickle flavor. I wasn't a fan though.

      @@OutsidetheLevees Pass A Loutte is one of the better places in Venice for ducks. I heard from a friend that he didn't see many birds during a scouting trip after opening weekend. We've been doing really good on Delta, until today. We believe that all the pressure before and during Thanksgiving week pushed the birds out of the area

      Yeah they had birds on Delta that week too but I can’t film there without a permit. It was a quick trip due to trailer breaking. I’m sure we’d have found something eventually with more days
