In todays video, we are getting busy on the @boostedboiz Civic Hatch. I received a few parts and they did not all make it as well as we would have hoped. The plan is to still try to get a new fender as running one with no filler would be better, but I did end up getting the recked one really close to being fine. ALSO! we get into fitting the new front end by upgrading the 96-98 civic front end to the 99-00 civic front. I will still have to do a bit more work to make it all work perfectly as a lot of the oem support brackets have been removed to fit performance parts. On those folded bumpers, I found that hitting them with a heat gun works really well to get them to go back into shape. In the winter time we don't have much sun and its cold where I live so the heat gun is the only way lol

I'm only a couple minutes in, your comment about removing the release agent from aftermarket bumpers is spot on. My family owned a bodyshop for over 35 yrs, you do everything correctly from what I see. Not a lot of good, prideful bodymen out there anymore. Awesome job

The parts you need for the bumper to sit right on the facelift are listed below, though you may also need the facelift crash bar, as I dont know for sure if the pre-facelift has the correct mounting holes for the lower half of the bracket assembly.

Yeah, at the shop I work at we've been getting damaged brand new parts constantly. It's so annoying. Sometimes the new part will be more damaged then the old part we were replacing... It blows my mind every time.
Hi from the UK, im here of the back of Kyle`s video. Ive been in the repair game all my life & im 60 now, just thought id say look after those knees (wear knee pads) & try not to sit on too much cold concrete. Im living proof it comes back to bite you later in life. Someday`s i can hardly walk because of my poorly knees. looking forward to seeing the end result.
Its because the bumper support is gone. Only way to hwt it to fit is get a bumper support and cut in half. The bumper support has the headlight/bumper support on it. Great work.

Not gonna lie. I love kyle, like he's what brought me over but he be given you no proper parts to start with and always ends up making you do like triple work. You do it too without hesitation and that's what makes your work so dope but I feel kyle can do better.

Finished the video and subbed, you're doing everything right. Including fatherhood lol. You're spending more time trying to get an aftermarket front end to properly line up than almost every bodyman at a shop anywhere in the nation would. They'd say "looks good from my house" and send it. Then they'd watch from a distance as the customer inspects their freshly repaired car

theres a bracket that goes under the headlights that hold it up and the core support on the 99 -00 has two tabs for the top of the bumperon the sides of the grill so you nee the whole core support or some homemade tabs

I used to have black housing headlights on my 99 civic when i didnt know they were not original ctr headlights. Its crazy how hard it has become to find oem parts for these cars now.

I've never seen a new replacement hood show up without the corners bent. OEM is the only way to get it right the first time. It's also multiple times more expensive.

I could be wrong but if I remember right when I had the 99-00 front end conversion done on my first hatch my body guy had to swap out the core support as well for everything to fit up correctly.
