  • Let’s go hunt some gems! Come with me on a full day rockhounding trip to Propst Farm, North Carolina. 💎
This is one of my favorite places to hunt for corundum in my home state. It is located on private property, but the owner is kind enough to let the some of us rockhounds experience it too as long as we respect the land, fill in our holes, and avoid power tools.
Thank you Ron for the constant generosity!
This video is part one of a three part series. Part two will consist of at home mining, sorting gems, and the final haul (including some beautiful close up shots), and I’ll be faceting one of my finds in part three! Feel free to subscribe & stick around if you want to see the rest of the series 🫶🏻
If you want to check out my available gems, jewelry, or my Intro to Rockhounding course, hit the link below! I’m running a HALF OFF SALE on my course to celebrate the launch of this series so… now would be a great time to grab a copy.

That farm is 3 hours from me. How does mining work there, and how did you know where to dig?
    This is so cool!

Nice finds! maybe a modified wooden rolling pin would work better then that masher you were using, though hands seem to do a better job anyways.

Ahh I’ll have to try that! Thank you!! We were hands only before this trip and someone was kind enough to let us try out that wooden tool, but a rolling pin sounds like it’d be awesome.
