Glad the Itind procedure worked out so well for you! I had a tele-visit with Dr. Kella a few months ago, and I’m seriously considering having the Itind procedure in the near future!! I hope mine works out as well as yours.🙂

I had iTind done by Dr. Elterman about 20 days ago. I do not live in Toronto so that I made two trips by train, one for implementation and the other for removal of the device. There were six days in between. I did all homework by myself on youtube before made the decision. Then I sent an email to Dr. Elterman's assistant. She put me on the waiting list in April 2022. My impression was that the waiting was mostly about the availability of the device since we are getting into a decade of shortages for almost everything. So far the improvement is relatively significant. According to the discharge instructions, the full improvement may take a couple of months. Even without further improvement, my uranation experience may have improved to the level about 8-10 years ago. The effort has been well paid off and there is no any complication, at least in my case.

is it painful? How was it during the 6 days and taking it out?

To me, pain was not an important issue. The most suffering was frequent urination before the device was removed because the device kept the bladder neck opened. During the day and evening, the frequency was every 15-30 minutes. At night, I had washroom trip once a hour. After the removal, the frequency was done to once every 2-5 hours by the next day. The full healing took about 8-9 days. The frequent urination was not what I expected. All the others temporary symptoms we're expected.

Just wondering if the procedure is covered by OHIP and if not what was the cost. Thanks.
