    Even if you make an oscillating circuit in the generator portion - the one with the transistor and the female USB jack - , how do you obtain the DC in the secondary coil ( the receiver round coil ) because you need DC at the smartphone micro-usb power jack?
    Not all smartphones have a rectifier built-in on the DC power side. They may have a filter-capacitor but not all have a DC rectifier.

    Are you feeding 5V AC from the receiver coil to your phone?? Or b/c of the transistor, you're only feeding 1/2 of the AC wave?

    Hey cool video just have a couple questions. Do you have a breakdown of the calculations you made for this project? I am working on something similar in induction coupling for a project of mine and am stuck on the calculations for the circuits that I require such as transistor values and number of turns of the coil. Your help will be greatly appreciated and will be cited in my report if you so do require.

    1. power from USB is dc
    2. DC can't induce current
    3. you can't input ac into the charging port

      Let's suposed that in the primary he can create an oscillating circuit with the transistor, the coil inductance and the coil capacitance. Theoretically is possible ( I dont know if this primary circuit does it but let's say tgat it does it ).
      But how did he obtained the necessary DC in the secondary circuit where he connects the secondary coil directly to the smartphone power micro-usb jack?
      Not all the smartphones have a built-in DC rectifier. ( he shows here just the general principle where you have to find a way to get the secondary circuit with the second coil inside your phone, around or on top, let's say, of the battery ).

      Wait I found out that this is the famous joule thief circuit i another way it is like wireless charging but in the end it is a transformer and the transistor helps making an ac voltage and current i tried with an led and it oscillates at around 1-5 khz

    secondary winding should be same as primary winding????

  • @muhammadmairajulhaque1540
    @muhammadmairajulhaque1540 7 лет назад +37

    I have two questions:
    1) why are you using magnet? ...
    it can work without magnet.
    2) Did you measure amp?
    because I made wireless charger that was produced only 0.3A that is not enough to charge any smart phone.

    • @FightClubBross
      @FightClubBross 7 лет назад +3

      magnet is used because we need an electromagnet and this is done by wounding coil around a core. and its easier to use a magnet as a core as its easily available in systems such as speakers etc.

    • @muhammadmairajulhaque1540
      @muhammadmairajulhaque1540 7 лет назад +2

      and what about current?

    • @FightClubBross
      @FightClubBross 7 лет назад

      when current passes through the cable on the transmitter the electromagnet produces a magnet field and when your device is near enough (say in this field) charging takes place.

    • @FightClubBross
      @FightClubBross 7 лет назад +1

      pause and check the video at 5:31
      you can see the cable on the transmitter (called a female usb cable - google to know what it is) is connected to an external cable (here the ext cable is your mobile charger)

    • @muhammadmairajulhaque1540
      @muhammadmairajulhaque1540 7 лет назад +2

      I have already made it.
      and my transmitter works well without magnet.
      its range about 4 to 8 cm.
      but the main problem is current.
      current is not enough to to charge smart phone.
      Otherwise when i connect charger to phone it shows charging.

      If you want a wireless charger you need a magnet. All wireless charging pads use magnets Of course he may have gone too far with a bigger magnet But putting your mobile phone on a magnet won't have any effect on the device unless you have a cheap device. My Lg G4 has no issues with big magnets touching it

    3 things
    1- the speaker has its own magnet and u have to take it out
    2- the output of a transformer is AC(its sqr wave here) and its not Dc (u need a capacitor on the out put) and u need a FULL BRIDGE RECTIFIRE to protect ur phone from reverse polarity
    3- the output is not regulated and it can mess up ur phone..
    After all... dont make this unless u know what to add into the circuit.

    This android is probably equipped with a wireless receiver. Why are you using external receiver? Is it because this cannot work as a native wireless charger? AC should go trough transmitter coil but in this case it's only pulsed dc. I guess the circuit inside a phone only allows AC to go trough although this doesn't make sense. I have lg android and I built similar setup but built in wireless won't kick in although I used 12V as a power supply

    couldn't it be left lose from the phone and plugged as wanted I don't like the cords and know it's kinda silly to think but if it's gotta sit on it then it should be optional maybe a little cradle secures down.

    Nice concept of wireless charging. Induction. But the problem is about the power to be supplied, the heating of the coil, and the range of which the magnetic flux that will act on the phone coil.
