Shes so amazing really great bend and dance!g !!🎶🌠✨ ☝🏻👍🏻🤘🏼🌟
One of my top 3 favorites, so underrated,Nobody ever reacts to it,so freakin good
A track that grabs you by the throat like this is a song called "Warning" from their last full album Unseen World. The material from that album, of all their albums, is undeniably solid.
I really love their early stuff.
The best way to start my day!! Simply and absolutely amazing song. The girls are simply perfects! No more words. See you! 🤟🦊🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Best Band in the World.
One of my favorite BM videos
The Non-Fiction Days use to be their go-to closer. When the song ended, the Maids would give Miku her few seconds to say goodbye, bow, and then all quickly walk off stage. The crowd felt like they'd been run over by a speeding freight train of awesomeness. It all felt so good and the fans wanted more! But they were leaving... until next time! Thx, TRM!
Band maid and xg..my favourite ❤❤❤
BAND-MAID'S The Non-Fiction Days = The Ultimate PUMP-UP Song!! One of my All-time favorite songs and a GREAT one to have ready for those mornings when you need an extra boost!
Thanks again for another great reaction!
🤘🤩🤘
Miku Kobato "Little Pigeon" - band founder - rhythm guitar and second vocals. Main lyricist. Claims to be an 810 year old pigeon and makes pigeon noises when she speaks. Po! Very good at poker, into horses - betting on them and eating them. Very clumsy, may fall into ditches. The heart and soul of the band.
Saiki Atsumi "The Ice Queen" - Lead vocalist and frontwoman. The youngest member at 29. Into train spotting and collecting trainers (sports shoes). Very girly, into doing her nails and is a fashion icon. Really into Baseball and the Hanshin Tigers. Don't mess with her you will lose. But she has a heart of gold and a killer dry sense of humour. Recently started writing lyrics. Has final say on songs.
Kanami Tono - "Kanamincho" or usually just "Mincho" for short. Lead guitar and an absolute genius songwriter. Total riff machine. Has two personas. Normally a tiny cute shy very polite lady who seems very innocent (the band have to explain dirty jokes to her). Until she puts on her guitar. As the band say "then she gets quite violent" - she turns into the shredding rock star she is. Takes guitar off, back to the little girl. Likes cake, coffee and is totally infatuated by Saiki. She adores Saiki very much, to everyone's amusement.
Akane Hirose - "The Gorilla" on Drums. Seems to be the sane member of the band, but is actually the band clown. Has an enormous appetite, seen eating in a lot of MV's. Eats a lot of bananas including on stage, hence the nickname. But she is terrible at actual cooking. Usually has a big grin on her face while drumming manically, Akane was also a DJ (under the name DJ Achi) and likes dancing and goofing with MISA.
MISA (all caps, no last name) "The Barefoot Assassin" on bass. An absolute bass prodigy, MISA is very shy onstage (a total clown offstage with Akane). Nickname comes from the fact she plays barefoot and looks like an assassin. Because of shyness often drinks onstage, you can often spot a bottle of Jim Beam on her amp. She drinks it neat. Lately drinking more beer than whiskey though, good girl. Doesn't say much, but when she does it's usually totally hilarious! At a lot of concerts you will hear the fans chanting MISA! MISA! MISA! which has become a slogan.
Well done Davey. Short but spot on introduction.
It's a fantastic song... Real Band-maid jam.. Just love Saiki's Makeup in this video...
I really think you should check out Ohrenje 's Band-Maid documentaries starting with Saiki. I think your respect for these ladies will go through the roof and beyond.
I second this. TRM, please check out Ohrenje’s members’ docuseries of Band-Maid. 😊
For a master class In HARMONIZING, go back to the 1950s and check out the music of The Everly Brothers. Songs like, Bye Bye Love, Wake Up Little Susie, All I Have To Do Is Dream, and Cathy’s Clown have influenced generations of musicians, including the Beatles and many more.
Great reaction bro. And Miku is so brilliant on backing vocals. She’s got a good enough voice to be a lead in a band so coupled with Saiki on lead it’s an awesome combo.
If you like the Great harmonies of Miku and Saiki "Blooming" is an absolute MUST! There's a breakdown in that song when the angelic harmonies come in that will bring tears to your eyes. IF you thought "Non Fiction Days" was good, "Blooming" will melt your face.
Here's your (Unofficial) "Cheat Sheet": Band-Maid is:
Akane Hirose (Ah-kah-nee or Ah-kah-nay) -Drums, Nickname: “Ah-chan” and "Gorilla" because she eats bananas for her stamina and is a BEAST on drums. Lost her "little hat" back in 2018....a sad day indeed.
MISA (Mee-sah) - Bass Guitar, Nickname: "The Barefoot Assassin" MISA always performs barefoot as she states she likes to "feel the music through her feet", and "kills" everything she plays.
Kanami Tono (Kah-nah-mee) - Lead Guitar/Genius Songwriter Nickname: "Mincho" “Kanamincho” ……Miku’s guitar Sensei.
Miku Kobato (Mee-koo) - Band-Maid Spokesperson/Rhythm Guitar/Lyricist/Founder/Backing Vocals/Lead Vocals…hardest working girl in music. Nickname: "Little Pigeon" (Miku’s surname means “Little Pigeon”) ....po! Getting caught up in Band-Maid means going down the “Pigeon Hole”…….. no rabbits here.
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-kee) -Lead Vocals Nickname: "The Princess" “Si-chan”. Saiki may be called The Princess but Miku is The Queen…..also Saiki is Kanami’s “crush”.
Miku harmonizes with Saiki while playing rythym guitar at the same time coordinating with Kanami on lead guitar, Akane and Misa...
This is an old one. 2016. Pure Hard Rock in Band-Maid style! 🤘❤️🔥
Time to watch some of the interviews and that will give you a better understanding why they are called the living legends known as band maid
Once you know their names and understand their characters you'll love them even more, if that's possible. I'll keep it simple- Miku (Red rose)- Band founder/Lyrics/Vocals/Guitar. Saiki (Blue Rose) Lead vocals/Some lyrics. Kanami- Music/Lead Guitar/Backing Vocals. MISA- Bass. Akane Drums. They also have nick-names but you can learn those later. The Ohrenje documentaries mentioned below are fantastic. Great reaction-Thanks.
Yep, and if you'd have told me that knowing their names and character would make a big difference in my enjoyment, I'd have said P-Shaw! But alas, you are correct!
There's also a fantastic official live version, highly recommended ☺
This is what I watch reactions for. Someone who is just honest about how much they are enjoying good music, and you can tell. Not someone who spends half the video shilling for some obnoxious sponsor product, or lists their 500 social media endeavours like some kind of late night infomercial salesman, or worst of all, the kind that has the gall to start criticizing the musicians, as if they have a millionth of the talent, yet expect the viewer to actually lend credence to their wannabe imagined musical critique capabilities. Bravo, well done mate! :)
"Holy shit, Holy hell !!" Oh you must be listening to BAND -MAID 😄 And the God's of Rock on witnessing B-M put their instruments down and bent a knee to pay homage to the Mighty Mighty Maids 👍 As perfect as a band can be. Cheers 👍🍻
Back in 2018, when I first saw them live, Band Maid news did not have anything like the breadth and timeliness that it has today. When Akane came out without her tiny hat, I was somewhat shocked -- "you forgot your hat, girl". No, she had recently decided to retire it, but news of this decision had yet to reach the States. Well, OK...as far as I was concerned, if they played "The Non-Fiction Days", "Puzzle" and "Moratorium", I'd be fine -- everything else would be gravy. They played all three, and there were oceans of absolutely luscious gravy! Maidiac for Life!!!!!
Great reaction again,,,You have to see, Dice, and,Hate live at Lollapalooza 2023,2 bangers smashed out the park,,with lots of dual vocals, bass solos,an all round treat.,,you have my sub, keep them coming.
This and Moratorium are probably Band-Maid's most underappreciated songs. An absolute punisher. And the start of the Fire and the triple drop fake-out.
and wonderland
Best Hard 🪨Rock 🎸 Band 💅on Earth 🌏
The “Hoobastank” vibe song is definitely one of my favorites from the “Tiny Hat Era” (2014-18 when Akane has her little hat)
Great reaction as always! Adding that to your playlist, maybe?
Learning their names was what I decided to do after a first few songs also. I think my first name to learn was the easiest: MISA MISA MISA! The bassist. One name only, because that’s all she needs.
Welcome to the Maidiac fanbase 🎉 Quite a bit like Rush fans, who know everything from time signatures to string gauges. Ask any question about Band Maid and you’ll get the answer. (Even GPS coordinates for video shoot locations)
You’re on your way down the pigeonhole, my friend. Here are some significant signposts along the way:
“Domination,” official live video
“From Now On,” official music video
“Real Existence,” official live video
For reference, as an old blues rock guy myself, my Band Maid playlist is over 60 songs. Yes. They are that good.
This is a fabulous comment. Yes, please follow Music Mike's advice.
Check out BAND-MAID Documentary series created by Ohrenje, which gives you in depth insights into each members origins and how they are.
"Dice" MV will kick you from pillar to post from start to finish - "Play" live will have you jumpin up and down in amazement and "Daydreaming" MV will probably near bring some tears to your eyes.
The "Yolo" ep is another banger with all songs written by the girls. Don't push this one aside because of clips being hard to find. "Yolo" is on their RUclips channel, "Matchless Gum" (live) is findable but "Unfair Game" only has fan cam's (I'm pretty sure) but "Unfair Game has arguably one of the best and longest guitar solo's by Kanami - there are photo collages available (P IN D) on RUclips of this song.
I know you'll get to em eventually.
Luv ur work.
Love your reaction! I have watched all your Maximum the Hormone reaction videos and loved them all! I listen to the MTH songs when I need a boost and want to get crazy, but mostly I listen to Band-Maid stuff to enjoy the greatness of the music. Their music is hard, heavy, groovy, melodic, catchy and progressive all at the same time. Just fantastic.
Thanks for sharing!
There's only one backup singer, Miku. Once in a Blue Moon Kanami with sing, but it's very rare, like the chant in 'Cross' and the acoustic version of 'Puzzle'. You should check out the documentaries by Orengi with all the girl's backstories. They're very good.
Great hard rock is not dead. It has just changed country of origin.....and gender!!!!!
Yep. They have earned the right to be recognized. As many others here noted; youtube channel Ohrenje has a series of documentaries. They are really well written, and are narrated by Kaspar Michaels. They start with Saiki and cover Kanami, Akane, and MISA, and end with a three-parter for the band founder, inspiration, heart and soul, and small pigeon Miku Kobato. Po! Even long-time followers end up saying, "Huh! I didn't know that!"
Like many of their songs, it's a killer start and high energy throughout!
Bro, you NEED to hear their song Warning!! And rock the hell out properly 😂🤘🤘
Should check out their songs Daydreaming or Memorable for a kinder gentler Band Maid 😉
Spellings and pronunciations (To the best of my knowledge) 😀
Lead vocals: Saiki: Sigh-kee
Rhythm guitar & Backing vocals: Miku: Mee-koo
Lead Guitar: Kanami: kah-nah-mee
Bass; MISA: Mee-sa
Drums: Akane; Ah-kah-nee
I appreciate that! 🙏
Miku, second vocals, brings so much to the vocal lines. Her voice is less powerful than Saiki's. But more flexible, higher, lower, matching, and oddly appropriate vocalizations. My favorite is the final chorus of Secret My Lips.
DrummerがJUNNA在籍時のTRIDENTのMV .Voltageをぜひ聞いてみてください、匂いは一緒と思います。
Tim, can I call you Tim? I haven’t watch your reaction yet, but I bet you lose you sh*t and scare your dog again. Looking forward to. And… action!
It's no joke. Just pick a song. Don't know to many other bands that can say that.
Not enough reactorts choose this great song from 2016. Next time, contrast and compare YOLO, the YOLO instrumental (both on the YOLO EP), and YOLOSIOSU (from the Band Maiko album). Saiki (SIGH-key), Miku (ME-kuh), MISA (MEE-sah), Kanami (kah-NA-me), Akane (Ah-kah-nee)
Easy to fall in love right?
It's mostly MIKU
wut? you don't know their names, pet names and birthdays yet? 🙂
I almost love this band. Incredible rhythm section, off the scale riff machine guitars, awesome production, etc. Cut the singing by 50% and they'd be 100% better. It all starts to sound the same. In my humble opinion, of course.
