RUclips does seem to be full of experienced, expert and pro level rider channels who are obviously impressive, but this is a lot more relatable to a lot of newer riders. It is interesting to see someone's progression.
I’m about the same age as you and only started this year. I love watching your videos as they are very down to earth and it’s nice to see non pros giving it their best (especially riders who are slightly older). They always inspire me to get off my bum and get out and ride ❤
Hi. It was a very interesting video on how utube work. Utube have put adverts on some of my videos. Which is annoying. I will be putting more videos on after new year. Love your christmas tree. Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 and a happy new year. Jen.
yea youtube make money of your videos by putting ads on. it does seem unfair, but really youtube give us this platform for free, so can't really complain. best way is to work at getting monetised so you get the money haha. merry Christmas 🎄
You seem like a genuinely nice guy so I've subscribed. I'll catch up on you're videos when I have the time over Christmas. Can I ask......what's the basic equipment I'd need to start my own videos on RUclips? What camera would I need that can be attached to the bike? Is there a specific one youd recommend? Merry Christmas.
i would recommend DJI. 3 , 4 or 5, i use the 4, far better than gopro for ease of use!!. dont attach to bike. either chesty mount, under visor, or on chin if you wear a full face. i wear full face with it on chin
Very interesting video Gordy, don't think I'll ever get monetised, I just do it for my own enjoyment. Hopefully RUclips pays you enough petrol money to get out loads next year. Merry Christmas!
Really interesting video, especially the analytics side and how things are calculated! I think the main take away though is, like you said, to just go out and ride, take some videos, and enjoy the process. The cash is a bonus. I'm hoping to start making more content in the new year, well, before then if I can find my GoPro, so it'll be fun to have a go. xD Well done Gordy! Keep it up. Have a great Christmas and an awesome New Year!
@@DownhillDesireMTB yeah! it's ace, even though this will only be my second time! Would love to try out some of the stuff you rode in your last video there. Some of the guys wanna do Zorro but I think it's a tad steep for me >_
@@KRODMTBUK it's actually not too steep, worse bit is the entrance, and there's one steeper bit out in the open. the second half once you come onto fire road is very steep, i struggled. but you can get to the road below easy enough following the road.
I subscribed to your channel because a few years ago you left a comment on my ex partners channel "midlife adventures" saying how good it was to see people filming blue routes and not just black and off piste. I am also 55 and didn't start mountain biking until lock down so I feel a slight affinity to you
As a 67 year old MTBer who rides local trails near you and can relate to your journey ( especially the local trail that shall not be mentioned :) ), its not a lot for the effort you put in. Anyway keep going and ive subscribed.
Thanks for the vid and openness DD. I've given up dreaming of becoming a youtube phenomenon 😅 I still try and put a good video together though and hours and hours is spent on them over the months and who knows maybe 2025 will get to me to a 1k subs 🙏😂
yea it's a long game really, i'm not even sure why i've got 1k + lol. keep at it though, you will get there, and you never know you just need one vid to hit decently big and you could o it in a week!!
You need more meet ups Gordy.. Do a video... Hamsley such and such date, Chopwell Woods... such and such date... Beamish...such and such date. And of course subject to change. You could as well buy one of them DJI Neo and get that on follow mode...uphill... technical bit. Meet me in Gateshead...We can do a video of just going down steps as fast as we can go. We are the same age by the way.

thanks, yea that's what i'm hoping to achieve, a "birds eye view" of an avergage person trying to get to grips with mtb!👍
