I don't know the technicalities but my theory is that when you suddenly change directions due to the drift glitch, for a split second, the game sometimes treats the car as stationary and plays the sound it would make when launching off the start line. It's not the main engine sound but the 'underlying' one if that makes sense, ordinarily it's pretty hard to hear. If I remember correctly, it's also present on the stadium car, whose sound is just a pitched up island car (at least it seems to be). Either that, or this sound is simply mixed in when you touch any booster - I've never noticed it before. Maybe someone else can explain it. Anyway, just funny to me how the engine sounds like it's doing 9000 rpm and revs up from idle at the same time

@@DrMogilus Actually yes, I did actually hear it, it also happens when you accelerate briefly when idled
