I closely relate to Mr. Vikram Jit Singh's visualization and his respect for everyone in the battlefield, emphasizing the importance of honoring the true history. When I tell my naval counterparts that I was the only naval helicopter pilot flying Cheetahs with Army aviators in the battlefield, facing the enemy, it is sometimes challenging for the EW Dornier aircraft crew to fully grasp the actual difficulties of the battlefield compared to surveillance flying.

🙏🇮🇳💐विक्रमजीत सिंह जी को ग्रेंड सेल्यूट है कि उन्होंने कारगिल युद्ध जैसी विकट व जोखिमपूर्ण परिस्थितियों में बहुत ही बहादुरी का परिचय देकर पत्रकारिता की और बहुत सारी बातों को सामने लाया जो बहुत लोगों को मालूम नहीं हैं। उन्हें उस हर अधिकारी व जवान का नाम याद है जिनके साथ वे युद्ध के दौरान रहे या सामना हुआ। मुझे गर्व है कि मैं स्वयं कारगिल युद्ध में शहीद कैप्टन विक्रम बत्रा की बटालियन 13 जम्मू कश्मीर राइफल्स का अंग रहा और मैंने युद्ध में सक्रिय भूमिका निभाई। हमारी बटालियन ने 5140 मीटर तोलोलिंग तथा 4875 मुश्कोह वैली की सामरिक महत्व की चोटी को फतह किया था । तोलोलिंग क्षेत्र में 2 राजपूताना राइफल्स, 18 गढ़वाल राइफल्स व 2 नागा रेजीमेंट भी साथ में लगीं थीं। इस युद्ध में जो भी बटालियन थी सभी ने अपनी सर्वोच्च सेवाएं दीऔर बहुत ही सराहनीय कार्य किया। विक्रमजीत सर जी जैसा कह रहे हैं कि पाकिस्तान किस प्रकार पूर्ण तैयारी व योजना के साथ सामरिक दृष्टि से बहुत महत्वपूर्ण पोस्टों पर बैठा था और उन परिस्थितियों में लड़ाई लड़ना इतना और कठिन हो जाता है जब आपको दुश्मन की का सही आकलन न हो और धरातलीय स्थिति भी विपरीत हो। फिर भी इस युद्ध में सभी डेप्यूट बटालियनों ने बड़े बहादुरी से लड़ कर विश्व के इस कठिनतम युद्ध में सफलता प्राप्त की और अपने लक्ष्य को हासिल किया। यह युद्ध की स्थिति किन कारणों से आईं यह अवश्य एक विचारणीय विषय रहा है और जो इसके दोषी जो उच्च स्तरीय अधिकारी रहे उनकी अवश्य जिम्मेदारी तय की जानी चाहिए थी जिनकी लापरवाही व अनविज्ञता व अक्षमता का खमियाजा सैकड़ों जवानों की सहादतें देकर चुकाना पड़ा । ऐसे अधिकारियों को अवश्य दंडित किया जाना चाहिए था ताकि भविष्य के लिए औरों को भी सीख मिलती। परंतु ऐसा क्यों नहीं हुआ इसके राजनैतिक कारण हो सकते हैं जिनके बारे में पत्रकार महोदय कह चुके हैं। मैं एक सैनिक रहा हूं वस्तुस्थिति को समझता हूं और जानता हूं कि बहुत सारे बाहदुर जांबाज सैनिकों की वीरता पीठ पीछे, अनकही व अप्रकाशित रह जातीं हैं और लोगों के सामने नहीं आ पातीं। शायद उनको वो सम्मान न मिला हो जिसके वे हकदार थे। उन सभी को मेरा सहृदय नमन कि उन्होंने अपनी मातृभूमि को अपना सर्वश्रेष्ठ दिया और यही एक सैनिक का परम कर्तव्य भी है। मैं तो भगवद्गीता के उस श्लोक को मानने वाला व्यक्ति हूं कि "कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन" अर्थात् "हे मनुष्य तुम अपना कर्तव्य करो और फल की इच्छा मत करो।" यानि फल की चिंता मत करो क्योंकि फल तो मिलना ही है परंतु यह आपके प्रयास पर निर्भर करता है। बहरहाल हर वर्ष जुलाई के महीने में कारगिल की यादें ताजा हो जातीं हैं और और उस परिस्थिति को वर्तमान के आइने से देखने लगते हैं तो अंतर तो होगा ही। परंतु हर वर्ष चर्चा इस लिए भी हो कि हमने उन परिस्थितियों से क्या सीखा और तदनुसार आगे की योजना बनाएं। श्री विक्रमजीत सिंह सर की मुखर व इमानदार पत्रकारिता को एक बार पुनः नमन। ऐसे पत्रकार आजकल बहुत कम मिलते हैं । कुछ तो सुना है उन्हें गोदी मिडिया के नाम से जाना जाता है। हर वर्ष कारगिल युद्ध या पूर्व के युद्धों को इस लिए भी याद किया जाता है कि आने वाले पीढ़ियां जान सकें कि यह देश का कंगूरा जिन नींव की ईंटों पर खड़ा है उनके त्याग व बलिदान को न भूलें। इसीलिए किसी शायर ने कहा है कि - "शहीदों की चिताओं पर लगेंगे हर बरस मेले, वतन पर मर मिटने वालों का बाकी यही निशां होगा।" 🙏🇮🇳जय हिन्द 🇮🇳🙏🇮🇳 जय हिन्द की सेना 🇮🇳🙏"

I was in Turtok from 1993 to 1994 end. There were own defences dug above that region which were occupied during exercises. The same were occupied by the Pakistanis. People of Turtok become suspicious when those Pakistani soldiers started demanding for sheep and cow meat from the shepherds. Shepherds knew that Indian soldiers never demanded anything from them, and reported the same at Chalunka unit HQ. The patrols were sent after that....rest is history.

It is not so easy as it seems to be, hatts of to those men who faught kargil war, each and everyone needs great applause especially the soldiers who laid their lives fr the country. I have been there in ladakh as a medical officer at an altitide of 15k feet, the life is very much difficult there U have to be ready to face every challenge there, being a doctor taking care of ur health at 15k altitude is so much difficult and also being away from ur family and also one more thing is ur mental health bcoz everywhere u will see mountains without any vegetation, I personally knw how much difficult is it to Cope such environment . Believe me these soldiers are real heros who r posted there and my request to govt is provide them each and every equipment and possible support bcoz life is not normal there. Bone chilling cold, away from home,freezed water plus enemy I think these thing r enough to understand how much they r sacrificing fr the country. As we people sit in our luxurious homes and discuss, but the people who r on ground and facing such challenges is something different so I request everyone, these soldiers and whoever are posted their fr the Country are the real heroes rather than the Pseudo bollywood heros..

I closely relate to Mr. Vikram Jit Singh's visualization and his respect for everyone in the battlefield, emphasizing the importance of honoring the true history. When I tell my naval counterparts that I was the only naval helicopter pilot flying Cheetahs with Army aviators in the battlefield, facing the enemy, it is sometimes challenging for the EW Dornier aircraft crew to fully grasp the actual difficulties of the battlefield compared to surveillance flying.

🙏🇮🇳💐विक्रमजीत सिंह जी को ग्रेंड सेल्यूट है कि उन्होंने कारगिल युद्ध जैसी विकट व जोखिमपूर्ण परिस्थितियों में बहुत ही बहादुरी का परिचय देकर पत्रकारिता की और बहुत सारी बातों को सामने लाया जो बहुत लोगों को मालूम नहीं हैं। उन्हें उस हर अधिकारी व जवान का नाम याद है जिनके साथ वे युद्ध के दौरान रहे या सामना हुआ। मुझे गर्व है कि मैं स्वयं कारगिल युद्ध में शहीद कैप्टन विक्रम बत्रा की बटालियन 13 जम्मू कश्मीर राइफल्स का अंग रहा और मैंने युद्ध में सक्रिय भूमिका निभाई। हमारी बटालियन ने 5140 मीटर तोलोलिंग तथा 4875 मुश्कोह वैली की सामरिक महत्व की चोटी को फतह किया था । तोलोलिंग क्षेत्र में 2 राजपूताना राइफल्स, 18 गढ़वाल राइफल्स व 2 नागा रेजीमेंट भी साथ में लगीं थीं। इस युद्ध में जो भी बटालियन थी सभी ने अपनी सर्वोच्च सेवाएं दीऔर बहुत ही सराहनीय कार्य किया। विक्रमजीत सर जी जैसा कह रहे हैं कि पाकिस्तान किस प्रकार पूर्ण तैयारी व योजना के साथ सामरिक दृष्टि से बहुत महत्वपूर्ण पोस्टों पर बैठा था और उन परिस्थितियों में लड़ाई लड़ना इतना और कठिन हो जाता है जब आपको दुश्मन की का सही आकलन न हो और धरातलीय स्थिति भी विपरीत हो। फिर भी
इस युद्ध में सभी डेप्यूट बटालियनों ने बड़े बहादुरी से लड़ कर विश्व के इस कठिनतम युद्ध में सफलता प्राप्त की और अपने लक्ष्य को हासिल किया।
यह युद्ध की स्थिति किन कारणों से आईं यह अवश्य एक विचारणीय विषय रहा है और जो इसके दोषी जो उच्च स्तरीय अधिकारी रहे उनकी अवश्य जिम्मेदारी तय की जानी चाहिए थी जिनकी लापरवाही व अनविज्ञता व अक्षमता का खमियाजा सैकड़ों जवानों की सहादतें देकर चुकाना पड़ा । ऐसे अधिकारियों को अवश्य दंडित किया जाना चाहिए था ताकि भविष्य के लिए औरों को भी सीख मिलती। परंतु ऐसा क्यों नहीं हुआ इसके राजनैतिक कारण हो सकते हैं जिनके बारे में पत्रकार महोदय कह चुके हैं।
मैं एक सैनिक रहा हूं वस्तुस्थिति को समझता हूं और जानता हूं कि बहुत सारे बाहदुर जांबाज सैनिकों की वीरता पीठ पीछे, अनकही व अप्रकाशित रह जातीं हैं और लोगों के सामने नहीं आ पातीं। शायद उनको वो सम्मान न मिला हो जिसके वे हकदार थे। उन सभी को मेरा सहृदय नमन कि उन्होंने अपनी मातृभूमि को अपना सर्वश्रेष्ठ दिया और यही एक सैनिक का परम कर्तव्य भी है। मैं तो भगवद्गीता के उस श्लोक को मानने वाला व्यक्ति हूं कि "कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन" अर्थात् "हे मनुष्य तुम अपना कर्तव्य करो और फल की इच्छा मत करो।" यानि फल की चिंता मत करो क्योंकि फल तो मिलना ही है परंतु यह आपके प्रयास पर निर्भर करता है।
बहरहाल हर वर्ष जुलाई के महीने में कारगिल की यादें ताजा हो जातीं हैं और और उस परिस्थिति को वर्तमान के आइने से देखने लगते हैं तो अंतर तो होगा ही। परंतु हर वर्ष चर्चा इस लिए भी हो कि हमने उन परिस्थितियों से क्या सीखा और तदनुसार आगे की योजना बनाएं।
श्री विक्रमजीत सिंह सर की मुखर व इमानदार पत्रकारिता को एक बार पुनः नमन। ऐसे पत्रकार आजकल बहुत कम मिलते हैं । कुछ तो सुना है उन्हें गोदी मिडिया के नाम से जाना जाता है।
हर वर्ष कारगिल युद्ध या पूर्व के युद्धों को इस लिए भी याद किया जाता है कि आने वाले पीढ़ियां जान सकें कि यह देश का कंगूरा जिन नींव की ईंटों पर खड़ा है उनके त्याग व बलिदान को न भूलें। इसीलिए किसी शायर ने कहा है कि -
"शहीदों की चिताओं पर लगेंगे हर बरस मेले, वतन पर मर मिटने वालों का बाकी यही निशां होगा।"

I was in Turtok from 1993 to 1994 end. There were own defences dug above that region which were occupied during exercises. The same were occupied by the Pakistanis.
People of Turtok become suspicious when those Pakistani soldiers started demanding for sheep and cow meat from the shepherds. Shepherds knew that Indian soldiers never demanded anything from them, and reported the same at Chalunka unit HQ. The patrols were sent after that....rest is history.

It is not so easy as it seems to be, hatts of to those men who faught kargil war, each and everyone needs great applause especially the soldiers who laid their lives fr the country. I have been there in ladakh as a medical officer at an altitide of 15k feet, the life is very much difficult there U have to be ready to face every challenge there, being a doctor taking care of ur health at 15k altitude is so much difficult and also being away from ur family and also one more thing is ur mental health bcoz everywhere u will see mountains without any vegetation, I personally knw how much difficult is it to Cope such environment . Believe me these soldiers are real heros who r posted there and my request to govt is provide them each and every equipment and possible support bcoz life is not normal there. Bone chilling cold, away from home,freezed water plus enemy I think these thing r enough to understand how much they r sacrificing fr the country. As we people sit in our luxurious homes and discuss, but the people who r on ground and facing such challenges is something different so I request everyone, these soldiers and whoever are posted their fr the Country are the real heroes rather than the Pseudo bollywood heros..
