I like your videos because they do NOT have music, drama, and all that nonsense. Your videos appeal to calm, rational folks, IMO.
I completely agree
Same! And his wisdom!
Exactly.
I don't like the heavily edited stuff and I don't need music to suggest emotions to me, I have emotions of my own.
I listen to videos sped up a bit. Added music makes it sound weird sped up.
I agree
In a country lacking positive male role models with masculine temperaments… you are the voice of reason filling that void in our society for young men! We thank you
I know that's right. His wife is good to listen to also.
n.y.reload, this here lady thanks him too.
Unfortunately, our current society gets a kick out of bashing men.
Well, I say, As the man goes, there goes the family, there goes the nation, there goes the world.
Politically Incorrect...yes.
Truth, none the same.
No worries my lady good and decent men simply don’t get the notoriety they deserve unlike their knucklehead counterparts lucky women who have found them have their lives enriched and all those in their orbit the difference is you will never hear them crow about it
agreed
Yep👍💯

I’m a young black city slicker from NYC and never would’ve guessed that I’d be glued to wrangler content ever. I’m so happy that I found this channel. So many gems 💎
Yep I live in Oregon so im so far from Texas too but this guy is universally wise
Dwayne.. I just want to thank you man. I’m 20 years old and ever since I came across your channel, I was instantly hooked by the advice and talks you give your subscribers.. man you don’t know how your videos have helped me.. being a male college student and a first son of my father it definitely ain’t easy to make good decisions at the same time live a way that makes your father proud.. your videos on temper, loneliness, tough love, heartbreak and loss, and great expectations aided my lifestyle change instantly because it resonated with me to the point I started applying it to my life almost instantly. If I could meet you in this life I would give you a big hug❤️ and would almost thank you nonstop for your contributions to my being a better person. I appreciate it.
Amazing same

@@uglycasanova4240 Thank you bro.. I know he does but I feel I always come short.. if you understand
I’m 63 years old and your insight and wisdom is remarkable.
Me too & I agree with you
Always try to never make a decision when your emotions are too high or too low. Take a minute or 5 after that emotional rush, then use logic and reason to decide.
Charles Stanley had a similar point in one of his sermons. He used the acronym "HALT"...as in, never make a decision when you are Hungry, Angry, Lonely, or Tired.
1. Follow your heart, but not your emotions. Your heart is the basis for who you are not how you’re feeling.
2. Use your brain. Think things through thoroughly. Keep your mind active in decision making. Logic and reason must be considered.
3. Get counsel. Have humility and ask experienced people questions. Read books. Gain more knowledge from the world around you.
4. Use your experience in life. Use things you have learned and apply it or cross reference it to other subjects
Bonus tip: The thing that’s most exciting about a person is the thing that will drive you crazy later if you get married.
Thank you for the summary, Hunter.

Thanks Dewayne
As I laid down in bed watching your video this morning here in Australia the words drove home , I bounced out of bed with my earphones in still listening .I made some breakfast for the kids looked outside the weather is miserable and being a Sunday with nothing important to do I was tempted to just go laze back in bed . My wife is a nurse and worked night shift , so she was in bed sleeping and then I heard you say make a decision. So I did I cleaned the kitchen from last nights dishes and this morning’s breakfast, then it was done in no time , I thought why stop now , so moved on to the next job mopping the floors and as I achieved all this in under an hour I felt like I had accomplished so much for a Sunday and instantly felt better about myself. So thank you , because if you didn’t say those words I would have waisted the day in Bed . It’s now lunchtime so I guess I’ll make the Bed now that my wife is also up and about and It has put a smile on her face too .
Well done
It takes at least 2 years to truly know somebody. Also, when you marry someone, you marry their family. Great video, very much enjoyed listening to common sense.
I honestly couldn't imagine your channel full of cuts and edits and music mate. The fact that you do all of your speaking off the cuff and in a single take is both endearing and impressive. The calm presentation absolutely matches your messages.
I can’t believe I found you at 21 thousand subscribers, no one on the platform deserves to blow up more than you, your wisdom has already taught me infinitely more than any teacher about the values and etiquette a good man should have.
Great video!
Someone once told me, "Very rarely do big decisions in life need to be made right away. Take your time and think it over."
It fascinates me that this just popped up at the moment I really need to make a decision. Love you Dewayne!
We all do, at all times. Sometimes we avoid them. If this is not TMI I've had 2 drinks and for some reason I am facing s decision I have been avoiding 😂.
Seriously though
Thank you Dwayne. Today I decided I’m going to leave my current relationship. I’ve stuck it out for a long time. We have been great together. She’s just not for me. Her beliefs are opposite of mine. Her wants and needs from life’s are not in line with mine. We want such different things. This helped me. I had already come to terms with it but this helped me feel at ease with the decision. If I stayed with her much longer there would be pressure to marry her. She’s just not for me. And that okay. Thank you.
almost quit my well paying job this week while i have a family to support. needed this message and am grateful
Awe, cowboy life coaching. Thank you for bringing life down to earth and keeping it real! You and Mamma, thank you.
I love the way that Dewayne simplifies everything…. You could read a drawn out 300 page self-help book 📕 with a fancy marketing title for similar information (paragraphs of 200 words, when 20 will do type of book) or you can listen to Dewayne spell it out in step by step simple terms…. I know what I prefer….. 🙌
One of the reasons not to trust your heart (i.e. emotions) is that "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?" - Jeremiah 17:9 NIV. Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I'm in a decision making process that can change the course of my life and your words have arrived at the right moment. Thank you, brother!
The same verse came to my mind while listening to this. Very wise words!📖
Read Jeremiah 17:9 KJV ✝️
When I was young my dad told me common sense can take you a long way in life. I never forgot it, but it seems like people don't think about using their common sense today.

The father we never had, we wish who was but now glad he's here.
I grew up with no father… I truly appreciate this conversations and advice. Thank you so much…
I was in a Christian bookstore and saw a young couple who were bringing a child into this world looking at some books. The lady showed a book to her husband and said "this would be good for you to read"; he blew it of with "Aw, I already know all that stuff". When they left, I went to where they had been and the books were about raising children. I would have loved to have seen him a few years later and asked him if he still knew "all that stuff"!
As a father I can agree with this! But hey we stumbled and bumbled and made it 😅
If you have been around children all your life through many siblings and some of those siblings get menu nieces and nephews and many cousins you do not need a book
Hey. I struggle with my inner monologue always beating me up over my past and really appreciate your understanding and honesty. I hope everyone has a great day and keep on keeping on out there
This video couldn’t have come at a better time. I just had to make a very tough decision of leaving my old job for a new one. I mean PERFECT timing. I just came home from my last day of work 10 minutes ago. This is going to be a good video I can tell.
I'm not in a rough spot in life. I'm actually doing great but I still listen to this national-treasure of a man bc it's sound advice that everyone should fill their mind with.
Good for you
Yup
My man! Great talk! Small decisions. One step at a time. Great advice bud. Amen Dwayne
Dwayne , so I'm having to make a pretty tough decision over the next 48 to 72 hours and I kid you not. I was watching a bunch of videos on making decisions and then you go ahead and drop this, I'm all ears brother and looking forward to the wisdom 👊 🙏
Good luck with whatever it is you got goin on, brother.
@@Hi.Im.Levi. I appreciate you brother thank you 👊 dewayne's got some excellent advice here with , follow your heart not your emotions and also use logic as well as good consul and gives excellent advice , this is without a doubt one of my favorite content creators and he's so genuine and a great guy with great wisdom.
When I have to make a big decision, the first thing I do is get a pen and paper and start writing down the pros and cons.
what was the decision and what ended up happening dude
My problem has always been action. Discerning good decisions is one thing, doing is another. I spend a lot of time fretting about the things that need doing that aren't being done, and it's like I collapse and can't do anything. Good decisions don't mean anything if you can't act on them, so the problem of being unable to act on decisions compounds with frustration. There's even something like a fear of any activity AND a fear of the silence that should come coupled to the act of not acting, a silence that is filled with numbing/cathartic dopamine kicks from the internet
Same here 😕
That's anxiety, you need to learn to overcome it. Everyone has it, everyone has fear also, it's learning to rationalize past it and overcome it that makes the difference. Like Dwayne here says, start with the small things.
@@semajniffirg230 it is true that I have a lot of anxiety.... But on the other hand, aren't there a lot of people who manage to act despite massive amounts of anxiety?
@@tomenza yes you just need to understand that everyone has it, it's perfectly normal, you just gotta push through it. Again, it's perfectly normal to feel anxiety or fear, we all have it, the ability to act despite it is what seperates us, and that skill is learned, we're not born with it. You just need to learn.
@@semajniffirg230 thanks. I'll think about what you said
I'd like to hear your voice on addiction. If it's alcohol, porn, drugs, sex, etc. I just started watching your videos today and I love them I can't get enough
Decision-making;
1. Follow your heart, not the emotions.
2. Exercise logic/reasoning; use the brain.
3. Seek counsel, from as many people as possible. Read books.
4. Use your personal experience.
Sum it up, make a decision.
Thanks Dwayne.
As a 52 year old airborne veteran who loves your channel, mostly because we have a similar mindset and passion to help others, I would say that you are filling a niche of person who has a father’s heart. Your conversations are conversations I have with my own kids. The untold numbers of younger people listening and benefiting from your common sense style are receiving a huge blessing. Thanks for staying true to who you are.
Dewayne, I laid my grandfather to rest today. I'm glad I can watch your videos on life. I really appreciate your strong words of wisdom. Thank you.

Duane, I remember when you got to 100,000 subscribers. You were so grateful and really couldn’t believe that many people were interested. Congratulations again.
I really wish my dad was alive so I could ask him his advice on life as I’m getting to be older now but I’m truly grateful to you for making these videos for those of us that need them.
It is amazing how every time I click on one of your videos, it somehow lines up perfectly with the difficulties I am facing in this phase of my life. Thank you for speaking your mind! Very much needed this.
Fits with my circumstances too, interesting and strange!
Speaking of good decisions, finding this channel and staying up to date with it was a good decision. Hearing you cover topics I struggle with really helps me self reflect on my life and find ways to improve. I'm young and lost in life but this really makes me feel better and want to make changes for the better of it
Most of us were young and had no clue either ❤️
It sounds to me like you're well on your way to learning how to navigate life. You are humble, have a teachable spirit, and are seeking wisdom in good places from a wise person.
Its a sobering thought to think that in life there are no answers, if only someone can know whats best for you and just point you in the right direction
Hi Dwayne, I began watching your videos when the channel was brand spanking new < 5k Subscribers. I regularly share your videos with friends and love the fact that your channel has exploded and is the perfect object lesson of following one's heart as you so wisely describe it.
Thanks for all you do to create content and share it from your heart.
I rarely leave comments on RUclips but I feel the need to thank you for the content you make that seems to be aimed at younger people making their way through life. I don’t have any interest in horses at this stage in my life, and I know that’s a big part of your channel, but I hope you keep making these videos that discuss self improvement and related topics. I really appreciate them and I feel it’s something that our modern society needs.
Not all heroes wear capes, thank you sir!
Follow your heart without emotion. Be stoic. Thank you.

I gotta tell you I feel the way you do, but my wife overheard the comment about you being decisioned out. I thought that was great but when I tried that on her all I got back was she is decisioned out as well since she make decisions all day to so it got put right back on me :) LOL
I love this channel and I love this community. God bless you all
You too
Listening to his videos are making me more and more and MORE comfortable with accepting who I am. That’s important to me.
I own my own home with 0 mortgage what advice do you have for a 28yro male that just wants a family. I love
This content it keeps me alive.my father died when I was 24 and he didn’t have much advice to give except on how to hurt people.
My father joined the navy at age 17 to fight the Japanese. Later in life being a "Dad" was not an easy job for him. He was a tough guy and not easy one to get close to. He only shared one or two details about what he encountered on that island of Okinawa and I figured out it was a topic he did not enjoy discussing. I figured out much later in life an event like that will change who you are forever. Some things we can't change. Many we can. As a fellow now in retirement I can say we can't always make good decisions but we can keep learning from the good choices as well as the bad. The only bit of advice I can ever remember my dad offering me during some bad times was "this too shall pass". When I have been at my lowest....that small bit of advice has pulled me through.
Thanks for all you do for the motivation, encouragement and betterment of humanity Dwayne.
Today I'm starting with the little decisions, taking a small step. Thank you for reminding me I have more to give in my life.

I ain't gonna lie that last video did "You messed up now what?" is exactly what I needed to hear and this one right here got me all the way together.
Thank you Dewayne sir for the wise words of encouragement and powerful perspective. Looking forward to making some better decisions today!
What are the odds of this coming out now. I just bought my first car today for almost 5000 dollars that I've been saving for almost a year now. I bought the car and on the way home the hub bearing goes rogue, breaks every bolt on the front drivers side tire, by some miracle there's a lip the size of the lid of a Pringles can that prevents the tire from coming completely off and keeps the car from flipping on a busy 6 lane interstate. I'm now stuck with no money and a 5000 dollar paperweight. But I'm still alive so could be worse I guess. But the reason the "make good choices" stands out today is because I had my doubts about the car. But my parents were saying it's a good car.
Yep. 💩 happens. Good you can see the bright side. Glad you are ok! Sell it for parts and move on. Happened to me too.
I needed exactly this today!
I have a great deal of respect for you mate, as a 45 year old Englishman who's till trying to make something of his life and making all the mistakes I do like to have one of your video's on the in background when I'm working from home. As a point of interest I started making my bed in lockdown and I literally can't stand to see it unmade now. Also I I've always been a gym goer but recently made the step of going before work. I make the decision the night before by stuffing all my work clothes in a bag and setting out my gym clothes. Normally in the gym by 5:30. It really helps.
This channel has grown extremely fast
Internet Dad talks we listen
Dwayne, I hope that's how I write your name, thank you! I quit smoking grass after 15 years. I'm turning 29 in 7 days. I exchanged my grass ritual for the cigar ritual last Monday, and I haven't missed it since. Today I bought myself a birthday present! A box of royal agio san pedro de macoris equador, a guillotine and a humidor with a digital display. I'm feeling much better now, and your advice always lifts me up. Even if it is how to bake basic eggs, you could make a video about how to tie your shoelaces and I'd still be hooked. The cigars I can definately recommend! Brotherhood of the leaf brother!
Arthur Morgan; except he's not a criminal, but a wise, articulate rancher! Keep up the great videos!
You are teaching a master class in life on this channel. Today I made a bad decision to lay in bed all day. Then I got up, and I made a lot of good decisions. I hit the gym and did a big weights session. I chatted with a nice lady in the sauna.
Thank you for your counsel.
I have been giving in to laziness lately. This AM, I made the decision to get up at 6AM, clean my kitchen, do my laundry, walk 4 miles, visit the farmer's market. Looking forward to building from here to stick to a habit of getting moving EARLY, then getting about my day.

Council I think is the biggest thing I have missed. I live a mostly isolated life- while I talk more than I used to, it's always been a struggle to find a sounding board.
My family didn't communicate well and so I was left to stumble through life without good guidance (and I was very shy). We didn't have utube back then!
I like your outlook on life,,, thank you for the support

Follow your instincts, your gut feeling is never wrong...
Today I made what most would consider, a tough choice.
Should I shovel snow or not?
(Just for reference I’m in Minnesota, practically won’t stop snowing until May at this rate)
With the temperatures being above freezing, I could have just waited for it to melt. But the freezing nights would have turned it to ice and made the rest of my week a living hell.
Was it wet? Was it heavy? Absolutely! But at least I can look back on my choice to be proactive on a day off, and not worry about it the rest of the week.
Choices matter, and I’m glad to hear someone actually acknowledge that!
You have so much common sense knowledge and I enjoy your channel. Speaking as an old cancer nurse I can't find anything entertaining about lung cancer.
Thanks, I really needed this. I follow my brain too much.
Dwyane this one was really great! Very inspirational for so many for me as well. Im trying to drink less beer this month if any. Great video to think about for monday. And I will watch this again monday morning. Bless you sir. Thanks
If you have a habit you want to slow down or maybe even quit for awhile, there’s no secret to it or great magic. Just stay busy. Get another job, go to the gym, find something to replace the time you would normally be drinking. Don’t allow yourself to get bored.
Thanks
You are a real life version of Clint Eastwood talking wisdom around a campfire .. I believe that's why you have a half million subscribers. There is an honesty and truth to your talks. This is very appealing to a lot people out there who are struggling and just need a little encouragement without judgement or preaching.
I find that my biggest issue personally with decision-making is the fear of making a bad decision that becomes a chain of bad decisions that eventually ruin my life. It tends to turn into anxiety, and that makes it really hard to move forward confidently. Not to mention other people rarely let you forget your mistakes.
You are a true philosopher. Erich Fromm defined "rationality" as the marriage of logic & emotion. One without the other is by definition "irrational." Logic without emotion is a sailboat without the wind. Emotion without logic is a sailboat without a rudder. Thanks for your teachings.
Love this analogy. As a constant student of Psych and a fella who has always enjoyed sailing this is a match made in heaven.
Wise old cowboy strikes again 👏
Thank you for presenting yourself and giving us these talks the way you do. I really appreciate it!
I decided to watch this video, I'm off to a good start today...
As always love the topic and the simplicity of the video. A few things worth noting though. The real purpose of waiting before making a decision is to ssk "Do I have clarity?". In my life I have found that if I do not, it is best to wait. There is something about clarity which gets rid of the need to "make a decision". There will always be resistance when I do not have clarity. But when I do, the answer often becomes so obvious, that it doesn't even feel like a decision anymore. And one way I find clarity, is by asking the simple question "What is the healthiest thing for me to do in this situation ?". Then even if the results do not particularly turn out to my liking, I do not regret the decision, because I made it on the right basis.
Best decision I made was subscribing to this channel. You always manage to take a subject and look it from a completely fresh and enlightening perspective. I can only imagine how many people are benefitting from your wisdom. I'm a 40 year old guy, and you have helped me so much already. You have a gift for speaking to people of all ages, and transmitting information in a digestible way for everyone. So greatful for this wisdom Dwayne, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Great food for thought. I really appreciate the opportunity to be a witness to your wisdom and overall psyche (the ability to hear what you have to say).
GOD HAD TRULLY BLESED YOU DWANE WITH THE TASK OF BRINGING THIS NEW GENERATION TO FRUITION!!! 👀🇺🇸💪💯😎
Dude love u. Your videos always come to me at exact time in life when i need it. Keep it up ur great.
You know what’s funny is we for very hard on encouraging decision making with my son. Asking if this is a good decision when he’s about to do something so that he is thinking about his actions. And I also am huge on talking about “steps” doesn’t matter big or small, sometimes taking 30 tiny steps is better than taking 5 large ones, and I use the example of football, the linemen are constantly moving there feet and taking steps, it’s what they teach you. That’s how you keep moving, because if your feet stop you are done and you lose.
Thank you for the amazing videos.
Your soothing calm tone is refreshing. Common sense man speaking to men clearly and honestly. So appreciated. We all get wrapped up in life. You and your cigars and pipe are very calming. As a cigar guy myself I get it completely. Thank you sir.
Love how the wisdom is shared. In these times our younger folk so desperately need a MAN to talk to them in just this way. This old gal thank you Dewayne & to your bride thank you too. Oh & btw she is one blessed woman
