There was so many opportunities to have sasuke fight people like neji rock lee and gaara again. At either the 5 kage summit or sasuke could’ve stayed in akatsuki a little longer, and went to go destroy the leaf and then fought everyone while Obito was setting up the war. Which could make people’s distrust of sasuke when he joins their side in the war even more reasonable.
