I’m a 64 year old from England and I started seeing you on instagram. I am so in awe of the life you live and really quite envious. I Love seeing your lifestyle and appreciate you sharing it with us. Thank you.
Not trying to be nasty, but it was obviously a mistake in wording, as he very well knows this, or it was actually meant to be a joke knowing them lol! I’m glad you know the difference, as many do not, but you didn’t need to correct/educate the educated in their actual area of expertise! Not that Cody doesn’t welcome the opportunity to learn something and grow. He actually loves to ask questions and learn new things or expand his knowledge in something, which is wonderful, but he obviously very well knows what a steer is and the difference between a steer and a bull! I mean, he literally did a video explaining the different types of cattle, the difference between bulls, steer, heifers, cows, and calves, and how “cow” is often used as a blanket term for all cattle a lot of times. The basis of their platform is to “agvocate” (advocate about agriculture, a term they came up with, which is cute and clever 😉😁) and also to “agrucate” (educate about agriculture, which I kinda just made up to match their “agvocate” 😉 it works, too lol) in which they do both very well and are very passionate about! I have learned a lot from them and appreciate and love what they do and tagging along on this beautiful family’s journey!! Again, I’m not at all being rude or nasty! You very well may have been joking, and they did say to comment the answer, but it just seemed as though you were correcting him a bit insultingly about something he’s well educated in, when we all knew full well that it was a mistake in wording or a joke, and that he obviously already knew that steer aren’t “born,” rather converted after birth! Lol. I tend to try not to “educate” or correct the one that knows more about all of this than probably the majority of the people who are watching/following, when he’s the one who is educating, well “agrucating” (Y’all can use that to go with your “agvocating” by the way!!😉😊) us with each new video they create! I’ll get off my soapbox now lol. Like I said, it wasn’t that you answered, rather the way you explained as if he didn’t know, that rubbed me the wrong way just a bit. Nothing but love to all of you! Cody, Erica, Clance…. Y’all keep doing what you do! We’re all here for it! Love what you do, and you guys too!❤️ God Bless and, as always, Keep Ranchin’!!😉😁
Your right about kids these days, seems like you spend more time repeating the obvious to them. Love your content and much respect for you and your family. Keep ranchin.
I am dry lotting 2 steers picked them up last week in Feb and planning to have them at market weight by mid august. Feeding them 2.75 tons feed 14% protein with hay. Does this sound correct? The steers were around 450lbs when I picked them up
@Bar7Ranch okay gotcha, yeah me and my wife are getting ready to buy our first house it's on 3.6 acres and the current owner has longhorns on the property and I grew up with cattle but just trying to find the best way to start my own operation which we live in missouri and I want to mainly raise butcher steers to provide meat for my family cause meat in the store is not only outrageous price wise but I don't want all the hormones and shots that come with processed cattle like you buy in the store it's healthier raising them yourself and knowing how they have been fed and etc and I like watching yall cause even though I know somethings there's always something new to learn
Thanks for talking about the corn and additive. I was really wondering about that. It sounds like y’all’s program is very different than any of the ones I was involved in as a teen. Do you actually have to be able to show one of the steers as in lead them and set them up or are they just observed by the judge from a distance with no exhibitor handling if that makes any sense?

So the steers in the 40x40 pen do you guys just feed them strictly to the regimen yall have with the corn and hay or do they ever go out to graze
They are confined the entire feeding period.
