For some reason, Manhattan, specifically Times Square and The Deuce of the 1970s-80s, just fascinates me. It was such a unique period and place. It'll never be duplicated. It'll never be ALLOWED to be duplicated. The pimps, hookers, hustlers, dope fiends, dope pushers right on top of bridge and tunnel crowd, tourists from Iowa, ect. It was so unique and you could spend one night there and see some shit you'll never see again in your life. It was insane.
Love this. Back in the 70’s I was living in Northern California. I used to beg my parents to drive to an area in Oakland so I could see the “pimp and prostitution “ I’m not sure why I was so fascinated with this culture but I was. I guess I still am. Not in a judgment way. I’m just fascinated with all different “cultures”
Me too. I was 16 when I started dating my husband. I grew up in a smaller Texas town north of Dallas. He would bring me to Dallas to go to restaurants, movies, clubs etc... The first place I had him take me was by where alot of hookers and strip clubs were. I was just curious. The ones I saw sure didnt look like the ones on tv.
I was there. It was nasty & sleazy beyond description. Everything smelled like pee. But thats part of city life. Kinda. The permissiveness and no rules drew me in as a lawbreaking teen. It was all about breaking laws. I don't mean in a GTA pretend way. It was a brutal era. But I thrived on it. The fact that I avoided death and it didn't faze me until I stopped taking drugs 27 years ago & looked back. I enjoyed smut too. But even that had its limits! I went out to San Francisco in '82. Nowhere near as sleazy & hardcore as NYC. I follow all the NYC news. And I think the gentrification of the LES is bad. But not new. I grew up in Jersey, and spent all my time in NYC. Now I'm in a little beach town. In Northern CA. I'm old, work with women addicts & I'm content.
the reality of the situation is more darker then our fictional pimps and ho's characters in movies, videos , and etc. It's a dangerous environment filled with unpredictable. A really hard life that wears and tears. Most of these people never make it out. If people make it out then they are lucky. Not a good life. We tend to glamorize things. Unfortunately the 42nd, ( the deuce) back then was a dog eat dog world . Gritty, seedy, cutthroat..all those porn theaters, peep shows, etc. It attracted some of the cruelest parts of humanity. They had clean it up but ended up turning Times Square into another wasteland of corporate consumption. So in retrospect people are still get screwed but not by the sex industry by big corporations providing mediocre lifestyles for a higher cost of existence . Amazon, Disney, Elon Musk, Metaverse, etc is our new pimps now.
Just what I was thinking. There is SO much that the camera doesn't show: the 12 yr old (boy or girl) who's pimped out for mommy or daddy's drug $$ where violence, drugs and rape are apart of the daily job description. Prostitutes rarely make it out, alive (above a 30 day rehab here or there, usually a futile unsustaining effort). Videos of foreign red houses are just a scratch on the service of the dark trafficking world, especially in the darkness underneath of us; millions of children, kidnapped and disposed of. Most never make it out alive, very few who do (of lower power structures, and acts of G-d), age out and are thrown on the street. 'If people knew the real truth, %99 would be in the hospital' -anonymous WithSadly, its common with adults to say, 'I don't want to hear about that. Turn that stuff off.' They said that to Johnny Gosh's mother after her son was kidnapped by satanists, forced into porn/drugs, tortured servicing elite political figures living life in prostitution. Those people don't stop to think, Well what if it was my child ? Its easier to avoid the truth then having courage to expose it. The most powerful pimps are underground in DC, NY, Cee-IA, Vatican, B.C. Monarchy and Europe. But, at some point soon every act in the dark will be exposed in the light.
That may be. But Disney is nothing like the sleaze of Times Square which everyone seems to think was a funky, 70s disco clothes wearing, happening place. The smut, grime, urine & cum soaked stench of Times Square wasn't glamorous at all. XXX theaters every few feet, porn shops, top less bars, hookers, male hustlers, addicts, bums, dealers, criminals of every type, predators to the max, pick pockets, street preachers, guys selling hot items, cops. It was a wild west, as was all of Manhattan. That's why I was there. I went up there frequently, from downtown, as a teenager. I grew up too fast, getting served in bars, seeing & doing things teenage girls have no business doing. The myth of pimps & hoes is pretty laughable. Strip away the sequins & most of the easily offended PC generation concerned with pronouns wouldn't like what they'd find.
Not just low self esteem, 80% of sex workers have been physically and/or sexually abused before the age of 18 by someone within their extended family circles. 75% of women who struggle with addiction have a history of trauma before the age of 18. These are women that society failed on just about every level, the most insane part is that in turn, they become convinced they're doing this cuz they want to. It's as if these pimps took courses in psychology. They always seem to have just the right phrase for any situation to make those girls believe that they're some kind of prophet sent by God. Then again, once they were pumped up on dope, they'd believe anything!
I'm not American but I was born in the 70's, so I remember a lot of the music and fashions, and cultural references from the late 70's, 80's and 90's. I remember seeing and hearing about the underside of the American dream through movies like Fort Apache, Jungle Fever, Serpico, Beat Street etc which showed a whole different side of how the USA really is. Your channel shows the videos that are quite difficult to find anywhere else. Your channel is one of the few that I have watched virtually every video. You have some very interesting material.

Outside of feeling the heroin rattle I can’t imagine how those girls get out there. We’re the pimps generally users aswell? I’d love to know what happened to Dr Silky. 200 grand a year is solid today but then a small fortune and certainly possible to pay for a little bit of suburban middle class respectability. Thanks for posting. I did not go into the city that often. I did in Fall 1977 used to head (pardon the pun) into Chinatown when i high school; couple times went in to NYC in 1976 with friend Bill. And went on occasion. Like early 1980s. Moved to California 1984-1990, after 1990, the started to get into the city a lot more. I wish I had been 5 or 10 years older when this "life" was happening in the 1970s. I would have loved to actually see "THE real DEUCE" (loved that series). I remember walking around the DEUCE area, going to FASCINATION game place with friend Bill, but do not remember much about the area. I wish I could go back in time.
So they finna blame black men for sex trafficking and get some new laws on the books, the same way they promoted gangs with hip hop just in time for those new gang laws, these folks are smart.
yeah that crap about not having any other opportunities is bunk. There are millions of black men then and now who get up and go to work just like everyone else. These guys are bums plain and simple. The one guy lays in bed all day counting 'his money' and no doubt watching cartoons and smoking weed.
@Lily Hyatt oh yeah working for 40 years of your life, giving uncle Sam a portion every time you get paid. Some elderly folks can’t even afford medication for them to survive from that social security check. Especially if you work manual labor. I love this funky 70s' footage . It reminds me of a cinema "Coffy" which is my favorite one. Fashon, people's behavior, way of living and speaking, etc.
Wow , They interviewed that guy right next to the stripper stage , with the stripper dancing around on the 5 oclock news . Haha , "Johnny ! , close your eyes " .
Why the other have to have such a curt attitude? I can never understand why a woman literally lay on her back to only give her money to a pimp that's using and manipulating her everyday until she's all washed up.
Consider the irony; I don't suppose pimps ever paid taxes did they?? (they probably didn't trust banks with their money) How would they have eluded Uncle Sam?
All of this is just like everything else worthless in life and though it has adapted to the times most of this type of lifestyle is gone like a bad dream!

What country are you from, my friend?
16:08 bless it Lord. I would love an update on this woman. She was so lost in the sauce.
This is a well good channel man, so interesting
So happy you're back man, great channel!
Love this channel
I normally would make some flippant remark talking jive or something but when you actually consider this isn’t a movie and those people are real, it just blows my mind! Doubt it went thst way. Just like superfly.
He was full of shit
😂😂 he said nothing about him has ever been middle class. Raised 11 kids all private school educated ivy league school grads a lawyer an engineer an NBA star. Don't think the old man did to bad 🤔.... not at all 😂😂🤦♂️ sqaures
They didn't want
"suburban respectability." Do ya have any idea how much coke those guys took? It wasn't "funkytown." Those girls were supporting everything pimps needed. Cocaine was the drug then. Pre crack era.
God That loop is embedded in my mind forever
Ya don't. Most likely it would chew you up & spit you out.
Like to go back in time and get a few of those suits.
Omg I’ve been looking for you! What happened??! I been tryna watch this one again for a minute lol
Your channel is unbelievable
7:30 *“PlMPS ARE NOTHING…”* Exactly. Should’ve ended the sentence right there.
I can’t believe they covered news like this back than.. lol crazy and all pimps ain’t black.....
Back then they were

I remember this New York. It has really changed.
Kind of crazy how a “color tv” was considered a “symbol of power” back in the day
It was a luxury back then
We didn't have a color TV in Jersey til I was 13!
7:15 The man who publicly self declared himself as a graduate of pimping school and as one who possesses a P.H.D in pimping. Dr. Silky!

So they finna blame black men for sex trafficking and get some new laws on the books, the same way they promoted gangs with hip hop just in time for those new gang laws, these folks are smart.
POPCORN PIMPS.

If these men wanting cash ...go earn there own. 🤬
yeah that crap about not having any other opportunities is bunk. There are millions of black men then and now who get up and go to work just like everyone else. These guys are bums plain and simple. The one guy lays in bed all day counting 'his money' and no doubt watching cartoons and smoking weed.
That's what their doing sugar.
@@ramlathers8182 The working man is a sucker
@Lily Hyatt oh yeah working for 40 years of your life, giving uncle Sam a portion every time you get paid. After 40 years and you retire, social security gives you a check every month but it’s not enough to live on. If you didn’t save while you were working...too bad. Some elderly folks can’t even afford medication for them to survive from that social security check. Especially if you work manual labor. By the time you’re 65, your back and knees are gone and nobody gives a F***. That my friend is a sucker

My name is Tony and I’m a publicist for author Gunner Tocco-Lindbloom. He was an enforcer for the Detroit Mafia and ended up doing 13 years in prison, where he took up writing and ended up penning 9 novels. Today he’s a best-selling novelist who’s famous for having written what fans are calling “the next Godfather.” He also writes a series of short stories about his life growing up in Detroit’s Tocco crime family, his mother being Grace Tocco. Titled “The Lindbloom Chronicles,” the series has been read over 3 million times. A scripted TV series based on them is in the works. They would make for a great expose.
Today, Gunner is a huge outdoor adventurist and even has a TV series coming out called “OFF THE CUFFS.”
Gunner is also the founder and CEO of “OUR THING” Apparel. He has a new novel coming out, titled “The Snowman Chronicles,” about a pair of cocaine kingpins. He describes it as “Goodfellas meets Blow.”
Gunner was also recently contracted to co-host Mob Movie Con in Atlantic City this August. He will be in charge of the writers, and hosting a series of interactive discussions with the fans, actors, and a cast of the worlds greatest true crime journalists.
He is also a paid motivational speaker. His Bash page is below...

He’s been featured on everything from Fox News to the Huffington Post. I’ll leave his website below and a link to the trailer for the doc being shopped on his life. You’ll love him. People often describe modern day Times Square as Disneyland compared to the times prior to the mid 90s.

Why the other have to have such a curt attitude? I can never understand why a woman literally lay on her back to only give her money to a pimp that's using and manipulating her everyday until she's all washed up.
