Evansville's coach made some poor pitching decisions in Saturdays game. These decisions came back to bite him in this game. He had some tired arms out there. Then again, maybe he just needed to do whatever he could to stay alive and survive another day.
UE fan impressed with the Vols program and fan base. Wes Carroll got through this season with hitting. Nick Smith was supposed to be the staff ace and had thoracic outlet syndrome. Deverman is a frosh who was supposed to be the mid-week starter. Schultz almost was the ace but he really isn't. There never really ws a 3 starter so, yeah ... tournaments will deplete pitching that wasn't particularly good in the first place. You don't see very many Aces games that were 2-1 scores. The Aces have never gone this deep in the tournament. They hit the wall after a whole tournament in partisan ballparks.
I haven't finished watching this highlight reel yet and I can say 100% that this ump has no consistency at all. I counted 6 pitches so far which hit the same exact spot and he's been half and half. That's horrible
