In 1969 I was sat 15ft away from Peter Green in this clip playing Oh Well on his 1959 Les Paul on Monster Music Mash !! I was 14yrs old and was with a group of school kids asked to make up an audience !!! It was filmed at a converted church (where the original Top of the Pops used to be filmed) on Dickenson Rd Manchester UK !!! The truly great Pete Green of Fleetwood Mac !!! I will never ever forget that moment !!!!!

Finally, a guy who can play. All those guys with channels on youtube who think they are imparting great wisdom and pretend they can play but can't play worth a flip make me lmao. It's good to see someone with true talent come along and lay it all out so well and accurately like this dude does.

I was a great fan back in the sixties. A true stylist. He should also be rememberd for two instrumentals, The Stumble and Greeny, both dating back to his Bluesbreaker days.

interesting picking technique. you use your finger joints and movements a lot (like a master of course). and having a relaxed hand is one of the best advice possible for any player. relax your hand and see what comes with little efforts

Anyway you could do the James Burton lead electric guitar intro, solo and fills from the Judy Collins version of Someday Soon as found on the studio album Who Knows Where the Time Goes? NOT the Buddy Emmons Steel parts ... a LOT of vids out there on that ... but NOBODY on YT has ever done the James Burton stuff. That is a shame because this tune REALLY helped to get Country Rock rolling back in the day.

  • @FrancisLut

It sounds a bit like the riff of "the core" played by Eric Clapton.
Could you please also explain how to play "handjive", a good job for the right hand and the sense of rythm.
Thanks for your Channel, you're making a really good job.

Over here in the Kalifornia Kollective, this was the tune that got everyone tuned into Fleetwood Mac back in the day. Once you bought the English Rose LP and heard Black Magic Woman, you started down the rabbit hole ...
You quickly find the Peter wrote it and Santana "borrowed" it for Woodstock 🙃 And good on him for doing it 😀
Then you get caught up in Mick Fleetwood's drumming, his phrasing, and timing around the beat, but not quite on it ... And John Mcvie's bedrock bass 😀
Once you come back up to the light of day you are a life long Fleetwood Mac fan. And a Peter Green fan (splinter group).
There is a lot to do with the many incarnations of that band ... 😁

I have a form of Tourette’s that causes me to shake and twitch all the time, I have to tense my muscles in my arms, hands, fingers, neck, back and legs. Playing relaxed is impossible to me so I just try to make the best of what I can do but playing with any real speed or accuracy is almost impossible. I wish there was a way to play relaxed but I’ve had Tourette’s since I was about 8 and I’m 50 next February so I play the best I can.

I remember seeing an interview with Peter Green discussing Oh Well Part 1. He mentioned that pretty much everyone played it incorrectly because there is actually a Bb in the riff.
