Good points made here. To add to the discussion: I've shielded inside my guitars with aluminium foil (from the kitchen - no need to pay big bucks), which has helped enormously. I tried it with copper tape, but felt that affected the tone adversely. Regarding contact cleaner: be careful to get one that doesn't attack plastics. I use one from the UK auto parts shop, Halfords. Some venues are just noisy, due to their wiring. I use a guitar with humbuckers at those places. Also, for safety, I ALWAYS check the electrical sockets at any venue with a Martindale tester, before plugging my gear in. Nothing to do with noise, but I thought it worth mentioning here.
my fuzz pedal was been incredibly noisy and i didn't know why until i realize, thanks to this video, that i was simply facing the amp wiith my guitar.. i'm not a novice, just very dumb :(
Great episode! recently switched to Strymon power supply-super quiet!! Did anyone try Ulbrick NRS for singlecoils? They claim zero loss in tone, but great hum reduction.. Thanks!
Hey Joe, I've got one of Ulbrick's NRS in my both my Strat and Tele and they work amazing. Hasn't changed my tone at all. I'd say it gets rid of about 85% + of the single coil hum. Not sure on the witchcraft, but can confirm they work mint.
@@paulitofm6420 I believe you, but there are no installation video tutorials, neither reviews yet. How did you install it in a strat (with middle reverse wound PU)? thanks.
Joe Rozmanassa Hey Mate, I'm up the coast gigging over the weekend without the Strat, but can take the cover off and get you some photos (as best I can) when I get home next week if you want? Might make it a bit clearer
Is voltage a relation to feedback? I jam out of a construction studio and my rig has little feedback. but when I gig I can never get the feedback to shutup maybe shitty power in old buildings?
The video I am trying to find is the taken show me how to take and keep the guitar from making a feedback while you're trying to adjust the settings on
Seems like ya could have been more thirough. Ground loop issues, dirty power from an outlet? I would have liked to heard discussion on HUM eliminators for wall outlets. Opinions. ???
More of an issue in the US, North European power cables are buried instead of hanging over the streets. Anyway, the best solution is to get something like a PS Audio Power plant, dips in voltage etc can cause tube apms to have good and bad days. Hum eliminators won't change that.
I don't give a shit, 300 hours of video are uploaded to RUclips every minute. Some are bound to be the first to comment. You are not special, on every video there is a douchebag claiming to be "early" or first. I don't care, fuck off.

"What's this?"
"A contact cleaner"
"What's it for?"
"Cleaning contact"
The universe has your back my friend
I have a Pignose guitar. Built-in amp. How do I reduce feedback? Is there a sheilding I can apply

Thanks Joe. I’ve recently changed power supplies too. Much better than it was.

@@paulitofm6420 that would be more than great!! Please, do it when you find time and you can send it to me ! Really appreciate it!!!
Will it ruin the volume knob if keep rolling it up/down many times a day?

🦉Great info!🦉
ok got it, I need to plate my guitar with lead to protect it from my multiple computers in my room just 2 feet away...
Is that a aged silverburst PRS behind you? Beautiful 😍
It's a gorgeous Faded Whale Blue and you can find it here :) www.thomann.de/gb/prs_408_trem_fw.htm // Guillaume
One time I was using a battery powered amp that was buzzing, when I plugged it in (Earthed it) the buzzing stopped.

good luck with the last one..
Play drums
Sounds like another problem rather than a solution!

@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses Andy, work with me man. :D
Use humbuckers or noiseless pickups
Good advice... and fire the video editor :))
