rayzimmermin Actually the PS1 (original mode), PS2 (original and very late slims), PS3 Slim and Super Slim, as well as PS4 all can be powered by the same cable, the shape difference doesn't really matter.
Interesting that you make the Xbox One/Sega Saturn comparison, because honestly, this generation so far has a lot of striking similarities to the 5th generation in general IMO. (The only difference being, unlike the Saturn, the XB1 isn't going to do well in Japan, no ifs and buts about it. Lol.) i really like how honest this guy comes across..he has already pretty much stated that he dislikes the playstation brand but gave it a fair and honest first impressions video..it sounds like he gave the xb1 a fair go as well..i feel almost the same as adam on this..
Say what you want bout Nintendo's lack of games in the first year, or they're lack of marketing on the new console, but I am so glad I decided to pick up a Wii U first. That console has had no issues, is incredibly user-friendly and doesn't mess around with the fact that I just want to play some goddamn video games! Not to mention the miiverse, the internet browser, the Netflix and RUclips app, etc. I mean i'm by no means a nintendo fan boy (I didn't even own a wii for very long) but I'm very pleased with that purchase.
Talking about UI, I feel the WIi U gets less praise than it deserves for it's UI, it's simple, it's pretty and it's designed with ease of use in mind, It works well with the Gamepad, the pro controller and the Wii Remote(For the most part) Not at one point did I get lost looking for something. The Xbox One's GUI is based around Windows 8 an already clustered, confusing and damn right ugly UI, why they felt the need to integrate this into a console for use with a controller is beyond me, it's design is counter intuitive, It's designed to be used in a way it never will be used. It's designed for Kinect, where it Should have been designed for the controller, THEN used Kinect as an "optional" navigation system(Like with the 360) Because I guarantee you, 90% of the time, you won't be using Kinect and will have no need for it. It's sad really, the PS4's UI looks nice and simple, the Wii U's UI IS nice and simple and the Xbox One's will no doubt end up an Ad infested mess. UNLESS changes are made. This is just my opinion anyway, I'm still not adopting Next Gen for at least another year or two.
This is just my opinion, but backwards compatibility makes no sense to me. The people who would be interested in using that feature probably already own the console it was made for.

It's not a matter of Sony or Microsoft, it's a question of why we're not all playing the Wii U instead, especially shortly after the rather disappointing launch when Nintendo had the best chance of pulling a few new fans over.
What bothered me was the controler. It runs on double A batteries! It's supposed to be next generation gaming yet microsoft can't put a rechargeable power source in the damn controller like sony did with dual shock 3.
Double A batteries are a major selling point to me because of the problem of when proprietary batteries stop working. I want to buy the xbox one controller now to use with pc.
Just got a Series X and looking back at this, glad I initially stayed away from the Xbox One. Glad Microsoft reversed and fixed a lot of these issues. Phil Spencer is smart dude.

Thanks for taking the first plunge into this next generation for those of us who are sitting back and waiting. I wasn't particularly feeling the need to pick up either console on launch and it seems like that was a good choice so far.
Every issue that you stated I've had neither on mine. "30 minutes to install" Took 5 minutes tops on mine - included the same games that you installed. "Hard to navigate the OS without the Kinect" -- It's rather easy to navigate the OS by simply Pinning the applications to the home screen that you tend to use. Batteries? I use rechargeable batteries that last a good week per charge.
AdamKoralik I just noticed after I subbed that most of your videos have a "quick shoot series" title in the intro, but these videos are scattered in various playlists. I'm confused a bit by this.To be more specific I like the retrospective, prediction, first hand impression and news videos. I remember subbing to Boogie2988 and Unboxtherapy Summer 2013 for some of the same stuff. Did you make a video specifically discussing why you don't like digital distribution? I went through a string of related videos, heard it get brought up, searched your channel for "DRM" "Digital" "Steam" and didn't find what I was looking for.
EdwardERS Quick Shoot Series is just an off shoot of my production company, kind of an umbrella title for MOST things on this channel. From there is splits off in to different groups. I touch on it a lot, but don't get super specific because I don't feel like fighting the flame war. The closest thing to it is probably my XBox One DRM Policies rant.
4. One other thing you forgot to mention about Xbox Live Gold is, if you have Gold membership, every account installed on Xbox One has all the benefits of Gold. It doesn't matter which console you're playing it on, yours, mine or your neighbors', if you're logged into a console & your account has a Gold Membership, those benefits follow you & everyone on your console wherever you go.
You can have 1080p 60 FPS games on Xbox One. You just have to sacrifice graphical fidelity including gameplay assets like extra vehicles, larger maps, and additional AI characters.
HDMI IN: problem most cable dvr's enable component only or hdmi only so if you have a component only DVR From your cable company you have a problem worse still even if you have access to DVR with hdmi most DVR's are encrypted so if you think I'm going to record shows you might get a surprise...
The controller argument I feel is kinda null, the little plastic thing you put the batteries into on the 360 controller made it harder to get the batteries out from than the Xbox One controller, at least in my experience. I'm fine with the AA battery support since play and charge kits are available for people that want lithium batteries so there is more choice than the PS3 controller offered and you can use a standard micro USB to play without any batteries (thank goodness we don't have to deal with proprietery charging cables or Mic inputs on new Xbox One controllers). My biggest gripe with the controller is the Xbox logo being moved to the top when it was fine in the middle the way the 360 had it, now it's less ergonomic to push as I have to stretch my thumb a further distance (it doesn't sound like much but it's a step back still) and is there a way to tell which controller number you are with local co-op? They got ri of the quarter circle light of the 360 that was also a good idea but unless the LED changes colour it looks like another step back. Also I want to use 360 controllers or atleast wired ones, I get they want to sell new controllers but come on the controllers are practically the same and you want me to pay £40-£50 Halo 5 lacks couch co-op? Sorry got kinda rant-y there.
i dont mind the 2X AA batteries idea, i just use rechargeables, i find that any built in rechargables eventually lose there charging power and need to be replaced, and standard rechargables are way more cheaper, thats what i use on my 360 as apposed to the recharge kit.
I am surprised that people are making such a big deal about the fact that some games are not 1080p. The PS2 was quite a bit less powerful than the Gamecube and the Xbox, but it still greatly outsold them. If you want amazing graphics play games on the PC.
Why don't Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo include controllers WITH rechargeable batteries built in, that you could swap out for AA's if you prefer that. ;(
Nice video Adam, but I do disagree with the end of the video. I have 6 games for the PS4 plus all the free games they give you. I definitely feel the games are there and I can strongly recommend the PS4 if you can find one thats not over priced for resale. Sure some of the games are ports but they do look beautiful and play smoothly. I never liked Dead Rising. Zombie games arcade style are just awful imo, and Ryse seems like it gets very repetitive and boring. But thats just from the outside looking in. Once again nice vid :-D

AdamKoralik Also you say you can't recommend the PS4 because the software isn't there but you discard the digital game exclusives because you don't support digital. Thats not doing a good review because of your own personal war against Digital. You should make a fair review of what the system has to offer as a whole. If you include the digital games, which are free I might ad, you have a very solid line up. Even the ports are going to be best on the PS4. I can recommend the PS4 because the Digital games are solid and the best multiplats are on the PS4. Killzone is a very good game. I finished the single player. Haven't tried out Knack yet, still waiting for Target to get my copy. I also don't support All Digital, but I'm not going to pass by solid indie games because they are only available through download. If there is a physical copy I will buy the physical copy. If there is a game (usually free with PSP) only available through download I'm not going to pass it up in protest of Anti-Digital. I'd rather not buy an Xbox One in protest of Anit-M$ for what they tried to do and what they are still doing now. Your videos are cool as hell Adam. We might not see eye to eye on everything, as no 2 people should ever agree 100% about everything, but I do see where you are coming from and understand your stance. Nice video man :-D

As that function is in absolutely no way a selling point to me, I couldn't care any less about discussing it in the video or a review. I will also not lie and pretend a feature that I hate or don't care about is some how awesome. Like me or hate me, I'm honest about where I stand. Incidentally, the games that require Playstation Plus can hardly be considered free, as you're trapped in to having Playstation Plus to use them. As for the ones that truly are free, whoooo. Sure I downloaded them, to give them a shot. But I don't consider them anything other than trials. That way if they're good and they get a physical release, then I can give them my money. 5. Microsoft has already said they will in fact be supporting external harddrives beginning next year, which is when they expect people's harddrives to fill up w/games.
One reason I got a Philips DVD player it plays any DVD in the world no problem. There like $40 at most stores. It's also one that has nearly no issues with DVD-R's to play your own movie files from dvd like home tapes you put on DVD-R's.
i love gloss, i have no problem with it. i just keep my microfiber pad handy to clean off dust. i dont have nay issues with finger prints since the only time i touch the console is when i turn it on
I agree with all of your points Adam. your report is well thought out. Following researching Microsoft following E3 2015, I have some context on the business decisions that MS made on launch and I'm SOOO glad there's a new guy in charge. XBone was a disappointment on launch. The party stuff was broken and confusing, and it's still not very user friendly. I get there there weren't many games but I loved BF4 (still play it weekly!) and Dead Rising 3 and support support was slow. MS ditching the Kinect last year was a major kick in the balls and I genuinely think that MS need to refund everyone who brought it on launch day, being told Kinect was ESSENTIAL for it be played. Bringing in b360 support from this Fall was welcomed but too late - I've sold all my 360 games I would have liked to continue playing. Saying that, they're cheap enough to buy again so it's not the worst thing. As the console matures, I do actually like it now. I'm invested in Xbox now. I don't like PS. I had a 2 and a 3 and I preferred the XB experience. Screw "technology" - I like what the Xbox does. Period. Following the game announcements at E32015, I feel like the Xbone is finally where I want it. There are finally games I want to buy. I can buy one game and have it available on all XBL accounts - which is stunningly good. I don't mind not being able to sell them on after I'm done if I only have to buy one copy. I hope that MS continue to develop it for the next 10 years. Being late 30s, it may be the last console I have to buy? I don't know whether I'll still be as enthusiastic when I'm 46... we'll see. That's a problem with the XB1, they have gone out of their way to market it as a 'Be all end all entertainment machine' rather than a gaming machine, and in that case when you say it "isn't the primary function" of the XB1 to play BluRay, it kinda is now, isn't it?

The lack of data management boggles my mind. Seems like all the 'streamlining' of new OS strip basic functionality. I hate how the progress bar is gone, replace by a 'swirl' which tells you nothing. I just subscribed to you a few hours ago and I can't stop watching. Sorry to hear about your disappointment. I remember how I was a huge Sony fan and bought a ps3 as my first 7th Gen console but converted to the 360 a few years later. After all the negative feedback on the xbox one I'm finding it hard to go back to Sony. So for now I just don't have an 8th Gen console. Is it weird to be so conflicted over a video game console?
It’s interesting watching this knowing now how Microsoft clawed back with the One X making arguably a better console than the PS4 Pro. Heck the One S is a good console too. Phil is a great guy & one of the reasons why I love XB right now & why I stopped being a Sony fan boy.

eSRAM is built into the SOC itself. It's basically an extra bit of L4 Cache that is accessible by the GPU and CPU cores. Because of the data bandwidth, and the limited way it is accessed. The eSRAM basically translates to a "Free" anti-aliasing solution. It basically means that most games get 4x AA without having to use any of the Video RAM. They did this, as you said, to match the PS4s extra VRAM and Shader Power. Good Video! Cheers!
Wouldn't the external power supply render a universal plug useless? Does the power block have a universal plug in it? If so you could just have the power bloc k out and not connected to the wall leaving it open to put a universal plug into it as needed. The only way around the problem would be an internal power supply I think. Haven't played with an Xbox one so I could be horribly wrong.
Since they already have emulation software for the 360 to play original Xbox games then you would think it would be fairly easy for them to put it on the Xbox One and make it better.
The only time I ever use the power button on the 360 is when it locks up. Other than that I just use the guide button or use my TV remote. Does the guide button turn on the Xbox One? If so, not having a power button doesn't seem like it would have been much of an issue, even without the Kinect.
2017. *Nope still takes a year to install a game.* I like how some games say READY TO PLAY before they are done, and then you open them and see a pretty picture and an INSTALLING screen...... or, in Gears of War 4, you can get to the menu and then the only thing that works is the credit lol.

There is no reason why XBox One couldn't have full BC with original XBox. Original XBox was built with off-the-shelf PC parts. XBox One has an x86 CPU and a traditional PC GPU architecture.
I was a little lost for the first hour now i'm rolling along great with it, i'm even getting along with the kinect. at the end of the day put your disk in and play your games. The rest can be left alone if its a pain.

Thanks for your exhaustive and balanced day-one review. What can you say about the huge initial update the console did require to start up? Most people complained annoying blocks of the procedure.
So my major problem with the OS on the Xbox One is it's harder than hell to navigate (or at least I certainly think it is). I've yet to find in settings or wherever you are supposed to find it, where you can see how much free space is left on the hard drive. I actually do enjoy Dead Rising 3 however.
settings is now an "app" for some weird reason? once I got my head around that everything esl seems OK. OK, but far from perfect... Overall though KI and Forza have alleviated any negative feelings about the odd OS setup for me.
I found Ryse to be an over glorified tech demo with the depth of a puddle. Sure it's cool seeing the awesome graphics but the "MOVE FORWARD MOVE FORWARD MOVE FORWARD" bored me.
AdamKoralik Awesome video dude. I appreciate your straight up approach, not trying to pander to either company. Its all about the functionality and how it INTEGRATES with my current setup. One thing I hate about the "digital gaming movement" of Gen 7 and 8 is the loss of the hardware functionality that I previously had on older consoles. Its like they are treating us like we aren't or haven't been gamers for the past 10,20,30 years. We are the reason they are still in business to this day. Why do we get crapped on for using OUR consoles to their fullest ability. (BTW I know why. I just needed to rant)
Xbox One is basically this generation's Sega Saturn. Wii U is this generations Dreamcast. PS4 is this generation's Playstation 2, it's going to dominate.
The backwards compatibility. While not possible for X360 games, for the first console would have been. Both are the same architecture minus a different GPU which can be wrapped to work the the XBOX ONE GPU. So, not having backwards compatibility AT LEAST just for one console is just plain bullshit.
When you said it plays CDs were you referencing the guy who went into a coma in 99 who just got out and flipped when he heard that it could play CDs, having no idea that mp3 s and iPods exist
Hi Adam, I believe that the double AA batteries are better on the long run not like the built in lithium battery, specially if you are a collector and this way you will not be worry about a replacement as what you need is to replace them.

Love the review, lots of things articulated better than I. Only 1 gripe . No AA batteries is what I hate about PS3 and PS4, 1 £7 or $10 4 pack of low self discharge 2000mAH NI-MH rechargeable batteries, pisses all over the internal 600mAH (PS3) or 1000mAH (PS4) internal battery pack for long lasting from a great height. Best part is for the money you might spend on a charge and play kit you have a charger and a spare set of batteries. when the battery runs low just change it, no need to find the crappy cable to plug the controller into the console and charge the controller. no need to open up the controller and buy an over priced replacement if it goes to crap. Thats a nice Plus for the Xbox one and 360 in my opinion. I still prefer the ps4 controller bar the AA battery thing and for me looks like the PS4 will probably be my fav console this gen.

i don't agree with your opinioni but that's ok. but i have to admit that the xbox one without the kinect is a little bit to difficult to use, but after a while people will get used to it. it would be so cool if it would be possibile to use voice commands with the headset because sometimes is late in the night and i almost have to shout at the tv :D
what MS is doing here is the way it pushes touch gestures on Windows 8, or how Google want to pushes Google+ on RUclips and Gmail....making the original easy and working stuff mass up.

I agree with your thoughts on the Xbox One. My older brother-In-law has this and paid more than 700$ to have the Xbox and 3 or 4 games for it. I wanted this when I graduated from school. I do agree of that there is no data management on the Xbox One, but the Xbox 360 does have it. I like how you stated that the Xbox One has a lot of fans in it. Hate that stupid messed up dumb Kensington security lock on the back.

I cant agree more with you Adam, completely true everything you said in your video. The xbone failed worst than ps4, because in fact both consoles failed. I dont remember that this happned with ps2 vs xbox and ps3 vs xbox360 era because maybe the lack was in the games and not in the consoles (then the rrod and ylod). But like you said, we need to wait until they fix that and see if is worth to buy it, for me and for now I will buy ps4, slow load times but looks much prettier and more friendly gamer (in how to use it the hadware + software and the support to indies companies)
Well here's hoping that Microsoft will update the XBOX ONE's OS, AND come out with an XBOX ONE bundle that does not include Kinect-which would be cheaper.
1. TV is better with XBOX ONE 2. Kinect working 80% of the time is still faster then controller and works for me 95% if you use it properly 3. The os is fine just different.... 4. They patched some of your os concerns.

25:15, just wow, that seems incredibly broken... I actually really like the kinect in theory... Just swiping ones hands across the air like in sci fi movies... Using a controller in place of a mouse and keyboard for an interface can be a pain... Even for the computer that seems like it could be great technology in my opinion...If done correctly...It could be the screenless touch screen. Even without playing the xbox1 It seems like they took a good idea and made it terrible.

Every issue that you stated I've had neither on mine. "30 minutes to install" Took 5 minutes tops on mine - included the same games that you installed. "Hard to navigate the OS without the Kinect" -- It's rather easy to navigate the OS by simply Pinning the applications to the home screen that you tend to use. Batteries? I use rechargeable batteries that last a good week per charge.

I just noticed after I subbed that most of your videos have a "quick shoot series" title in the intro, but these videos are scattered in various playlists. I'm confused a bit by this.To be more specific I like the retrospective, prediction, first hand impression and news videos. I remember subbing to Boogie2988 and Unboxtherapy Summer 2013 for some of the same stuff.
Did you make a video specifically discussing why you don't like digital distribution? I went through a string of related videos, heard it get brought up, searched your channel for "DRM" "Digital" "Steam" and didn't find what I was looking for.
EdwardERS Quick Shoot Series is just an off shoot of my production company, kind of an umbrella title for MOST things on this channel.
From there is splits off in to different groups. I touch on it a lot, but don't get super specific because I don't feel like fighting the flame war.

4. One other thing you forgot to mention about Xbox Live Gold is, if you have Gold membership, every account installed on Xbox One has all the benefits of Gold. It doesn't matter which console you're playing it on, yours, mine or your neighbors', if you're logged into a console & your account has a Gold Membership, those benefits follow you & everyone on your console wherever you go.

You can have 1080p 60 FPS games on Xbox One. You just have to sacrifice graphical fidelity including gameplay assets like extra vehicles, larger maps, and additional AI characters.
I don't have any problems playing NTSC DVD's on my European PS3 and most TV#s here support 60hz as well as 50hz
Typically that's the trend, but it doesn't work the other way around alas.
HDMI IN: problem most cable dvr's enable component only or hdmi only so if you have a component only DVR From your cable company you have a problem worse still even if you have access to DVR with hdmi most DVR's are encrypted so if you think I'm going to record shows you might get a surprise...
Honestly, I have no intention of using that feature either.

The controller argument I feel is kinda null, the little plastic thing you put the batteries into on the 360 controller made it harder to get the batteries out from than the Xbox One controller, at least in my experience.
I'm fine with the AA battery support since play and charge kits are available for people that want lithium batteries so there is more choice than the PS3 controller offered and you can use a standard micro USB to play without any batteries (thank goodness we don't have to deal with proprietery charging cables or Mic inputs on new Xbox One controllers).
My biggest gripe with the controller is the Xbox logo being moved to the top when it was fine in the middle the way the 360 had it, now it's less ergonomic to push as I have to stretch my thumb a further distance (it doesn't sound like much but it's a step back still) and is there a way to tell which controller number you are with local co-op? They got ri of the quarter circle light of the 360 that was also a good idea but unless the LED changes colour it looks like another step back. Also I want to use 360 controllers or atleast wired ones, I get they want to sell new controllers but come on the controllers are practically the same and you want me to pay £40-£50 Halo 5 lacks couch co-op?

i dont mind the 2X AA batteries idea, i just use rechargeables, i find that any built in rechargables eventually lose there charging power and need to be replaced, and standard rechargables are way more cheaper, thats what i use on my 360 as apposed to the recharge kit.
I am surprised that people are making such a big deal about the fact that some games are not 1080p. The PS2 was quite a bit less powerful than the Gamecube and the Xbox, but it still greatly outsold them. If you want amazing graphics play games on the PC.
Why don't Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo include controllers WITH rechargeable batteries built in, that you could swap out for AA's if you prefer that. ;(
Nice video Adam, but I do disagree with the end of the video. I have 6 games for the PS4 plus all the free games they give you. I definitely feel the games are there and I can strongly recommend the PS4 if you can find one thats not over priced for resale. Sure some of the games are ports but they do look beautiful and play smoothly. I never liked Dead Rising. Zombie games arcade style are just awful imo, and Ryse seems like it gets very repetitive and boring. But thats just from the outside looking in. Once again nice vid :-D

2: I was referring to exclusive titles. Having the game on both consoles is convenient of course, but hardly makes the console stand out.

Thats not doing a good review because of your own personal war against Digital. You should make a fair review of what the system has to offer as a whole. If you include the digital games, which are free I might ad, you have a very solid line up. Even the ports are going to be best on the PS4.
I can recommend the PS4 because the Digital games are solid and the best multiplats are on the PS4. Killzone is a very good game. I finished the single player. Haven't tried out Knack yet, still waiting for Target to get my copy. I also don't support All Digital, but I'm not going to pass by solid indie games because they are only available through download. If there is a physical copy I will buy the physical copy. If there is a game (usually free with PSP) only available through download I'm not going to pass it up in protest of Anti-Digital. I'd rather not buy an Xbox One in protest of Anit-M$ for what they tried to do and what they are still doing now.

As that function is in absolutely no way a selling point to me, I couldn't care any less about discussing it in the video or a review. I will also not lie and pretend a feature that I hate or don't care about is some how awesome. Like me or hate me, I'm honest about where I stand.
Incidentally, the games that require Playstation Plus can hardly be considered free, as you're trapped in to having Playstation Plus to use them.
As for the ones that truly are free, whoooo. Sure I downloaded them, to give them a shot. But I don't consider them anything other than trials. That way if they're good and they get a physical release, then I can give them my money. But until then, I don't give a crap about them.

I just wanted to say having the battery directly in the controller is a plus because then you don't have lose battery packs
One reason I got a Philips DVD player it plays any DVD in the world no problem. There like $40 at most stores. It's also one that has nearly no issues with DVD-R's to play your own movie files from dvd like home tapes you put on DVD-R's.
i love gloss, i have no problem with it. i just keep my microfiber pad handy to clean off dust. i dont have nay issues with finger prints since the only time i touch the console is when i turn it on

Following researching Microsoft following E3 2015, I have some context on the business decisions that MS made on launch and I'm SOOO glad there's a new guy in charge.
XBone was a disappointment on launch. The party stuff was broken and confusing, and it's still not very user friendly. I get there there weren't many games but I loved BF4 (still play it weekly!) and Dead Rising 3 and support support was slow.
MS ditching the Kinect last year was a major kick in the balls and I genuinely think that MS need to refund everyone who brought it on launch day, being told Kinect was ESSENTIAL for it be played. Bringing in b360 support from this Fall was welcomed but too late - I've sold all my 360 games I would have liked to continue playing. Saying that, they're cheap enough to buy again so it's not the worst thing.
As the console matures, I do actually like it now. I'm invested in Xbox now. I don't like PS. I had a 2 and a 3 and I preferred the XB experience. Screw "technology" - I like what the Xbox does. Period.
Following the game announcements at E32015, I feel like the Xbone is finally where I want it. There are finally games I want to buy. I can buy one game and have it available on all XBL accounts - which is stunningly good. I don't mind not being able to sell them on after I'm done if I only have to buy one copy.
I hope that MS continue to develop it for the next 10 years. Being late 30s, it may be the last console I have to buy? I don't know whether I'll still be as enthusiastic when I'm 46... we'll see. I probably will be, but who knows.

That's a problem with the XB1, they have gone out of their way to market it as a 'Be all end all entertainment machine' rather than a gaming machine, and in that case when you say it "isn't the primary function" of the XB1 to play BluRay, it kinda is now, isn't it?

I remember how I was a huge Sony fan and bought a ps3 as my first 7th Gen console but converted to the 360 a few years later. After all the negative feedback on the xbox one I'm finding it hard to go back to Sony. So for now I just don't have an 8th Gen console. Is it weird to be so conflicted over a video game console?

eSRAM is built into the SOC itself. It's basically an extra bit of L4 Cache that is accessible by the GPU and CPU cores. Because of the data bandwidth, and the limited way it is accessed. The eSRAM basically translates to a "Free" anti-aliasing solution. It basically means that most games get 4x AA without having to use any of the Video RAM. They did this, as you said, to match the PS4s extra VRAM and Shader Power. Good Video! Cheers!

Wouldn't the external power supply render a universal plug useless? Does the power block have a universal plug in it? If so you could just have the power bloc k out and not connected to the wall leaving it open to put a universal plug into it as needed. The only way around the problem would be an internal power supply I think. Haven't played with an Xbox one so I could be horribly wrong.
Since they already have emulation software for the 360 to play original Xbox games then you would think it would be fairly easy for them to put it on the Xbox One and make it better.
You can't check the space on the hard drive!? I miss the days of the blades dashboard, why couldn't they do something like that❓

The only time I ever use the power button on the 360 is when it locks up. Other than that I just use the guide button or use my TV remote. Does the guide button turn on the Xbox One? If so, not having a power button doesn't seem like it would have been much of an issue, even without the Kinect.

*Nope still takes a year to install a game.* I like how some games say READY TO PLAY before they are done, and then you open them and see a pretty picture and an INSTALLING screen...... or, in Gears of War 4, you can get to the menu and then the only thing that works is the credit lol.

There is no reason why XBox One couldn't have full BC with original XBox. Original XBox was built with off-the-shelf PC parts. XBox One has an x86 CPU and a traditional PC GPU architecture.
i think there is usb on the side because thats how you update the controller not just the console you can also update the controller
I was a little lost for the first hour now i'm rolling along great with it, i'm even getting along with the kinect. at the end of the day put your disk in and play your games. The rest can be left alone if its a pain.

So my major problem with the OS on the Xbox One is it's harder than hell to navigate (or at least I certainly think it is). I've yet to find in settings or wherever you are supposed to find it, where you can see how much free space is left on the hard drive. I actually do enjoy Dead Rising 3 however.

settings is now an "app" for some weird reason? once I got my head around that everything esl seems OK. OK, but far from perfect... Overall though KI and Forza have alleviated any negative feelings about the odd OS setup for me.
I found Ryse to be an over glorified tech demo with the depth of a puddle.
Sure it's cool seeing the awesome graphics but the "MOVE FORWARD MOVE FORWARD MOVE FORWARD" bored me.
That's basically how I felt.

Xbox One is basically this generation's Sega Saturn. Wii U is this generations Dreamcast. PS4 is this generation's Playstation 2, it's going to dominate.

The backwards compatibility. While not possible for X360 games, for the first console would have been.
Both are the same architecture minus a different GPU which can be wrapped to work the the XBOX ONE GPU. So, not having backwards compatibility AT LEAST just for one console is just plain bullshit.

Hi Adam, I believe that the double AA batteries are better on the long run not like the built in lithium battery, specially if you are a collector and this way you will not be worry about a replacement as what you need is to replace them.

No AA batteries is what I hate about PS3 and PS4, 1 £7 or $10 4 pack of low self discharge 2000mAH NI-MH rechargeable batteries, pisses all over the internal 600mAH (PS3) or 1000mAH (PS4) internal battery pack for long lasting from a great height. Best part is for the money you might spend on a charge and play kit you have a charger and a spare set of batteries. when the battery runs low just change it, no need to find the crappy cable to plug the controller into the console and charge the controller. no need to open up the controller and buy an over priced replacement if it goes to crap.
Thats a nice Plus for the Xbox one and 360 in my opinion. I still prefer the ps4 controller bar the AA battery thing and for me looks like the PS4 will probably be my fav console this gen.

i don't agree with your opinioni but that's ok. but i have to admit that the xbox one without the kinect is a little bit to difficult to use, but after a while people will get used to it. it would be so cool if it would be possibile to use voice commands with the headset because sometimes is late in the night and i almost have to shout at the tv :D

I agree with your thoughts on the Xbox One. My older brother-In-law has this and paid more than 700$ to have the Xbox and 3 or 4 games for it. I wanted this when I graduated from school. I do agree of that there is no data management on the Xbox One, but the Xbox 360 does have it. I like how you stated that the Xbox One has a lot of fans in it. Hate that stupid messed up dumb Kensington security lock on the back.

I cant agree more with you Adam, completely true everything you said in your video. The xbone failed worst than ps4, because in fact both consoles failed. I dont remember that this happned with ps2 vs xbox and ps3 vs xbox360 era because maybe the lack was in the games and not in the consoles (then the rrod and ylod). But like you said, we need to wait until they fix that and see if is worth to buy it, for me and for now I will buy ps4, slow load times but looks much prettier and more friendly gamer (in how to use it the hadware + software and the support to indies companies)

2. Kinect working 80% of the time is still faster then controller and works for me 95% if you use it properly

Using a controller in place of a mouse and keyboard for an interface can be a pain... Even for the computer that seems like it could be great technology in my opinion...If done correctly...It could be the screenless touch screen. Even without playing the xbox1 It seems like they took a good idea and made it terrible.
