@@koraboinaneelaveni7147 I didn’t say right now in the manga lol. They weren’t strong enough to win after the skip is all I’m saying. Time skip was many years ago. They all became a lot stronger than they were in thriller bark, but had to become even stronger than that.
It's funny. If Moria just used a smaller number of shadows like 100 or 500, he probably could've beaten the Strawhats, but overestimating his own abilities led to his own demise. My theory is that the reason he overestimated is probably because when he was younger, he could use 1000 shadows, but since he was defeated and became fat and lazy, he declined in power. His tendency to his subordinates do all the heavy lifting was his own undoing.
Literally what I said. If he would have taken in 100-500 shadows at best, he could have likely won against them. But the man got greedy which led to his downfall.
Literally he was such a strong man but he got defeated by kaido and lost his crew now he is a depressed man who just lets his subordinates do all his work so he got weaker by doing no shit for years
we cannot forget that he just took an beating from nightmare luffy, form which were tossing oars around. if he wasnt so beat up, i can imagine him being able to handle 1k shadows
The thing is it wouldnt have changed that much. He could hold 1k shadows and if luffy wasnt rubber he wouldve been crushed. And i guess you wanted to say that moria has to much shadows and is slow because of it or that there are so many, that he loses shadows every punch he gets. I mean thats a fair assumption but in marineford we saw moria with less shadows and he still was slow as hell. In fact even slower then jimbei, so no way he can Catch 2nd gear luffy. Also Moria also lost shadows each hit, when he didnt had that many shadows. Its not like he cant handle this much shadows, its more like he doesnt trained to hold them after getting beat up (thats also what jimbei told him). But after you seen wano and kaido you kinda understand why this man was so broken, when we met him at thriller bark. He earned the same fate as crocodile, both were cocky strong rookies, that went to far and faced monsters way above their league (whitebeard and kaido), so both got frustrated and gave up the dream of pirate king the normal way, but instead they looked for new ways to achive their dream (but they both kinda lost their willpower). And on top of that moria got PTSD from Kaido, because his whole crew was slaughtered, so of course he dont want to relive that trauma and uses zombies. I kinda feel bad for moria tho, if he wasnt that cocky as a rookie, he could be really strong now. Also if you think about it his df is really busted
I always felt Chopper's contribution to the Oars fight is underappreciated, and this final attack is exactly why. Chopper's mid-battle autopsy is why they began focusing attacks on Oars's arm, it was his idea to pull the straighten the spine trick, and his direction is why Oars couldn't counter-attack or defend against the Gum-Gum Gigant Bazooka. 9:55 - My guess is Moria can handle so many more Shadows because the Shadow-Shadow fruit is *his* power, so his threshold is much higher.
Face moria makes when thinking about new world/his old crew. Is one of my favorite faces in the entire series. That crazed face and eyes of his tell more than 1000 words
*SPOILER FOR THE VIDEO* I love Moria’s warning right before Shadows Asgard: “At your current strength, you’ll never survive the New World.” Considering he lost his crew and his _chin_ from his own time fighting Kaido there, I think Moria has something of an experience.
Moria is really a misunderstood antagonist, despite his abnormal and rather terrifying features, there hides a heart of gold, full of compassion underneath all of that. He is a prime example that there is a saying-never judge a book by its cover. Moria stated he was once full of spirit and ambition but he was overconfident, meaning he was crushed and humiliated. We know for a fact, that he tried to fight Kaido and lost his crewmates, his spirit got crushed and he became sad and fat and lazy. It's like Moria never had a chance and got completely decimated by Kaido after getting too cocky. The keyword in the dialogue is "massive humiliation." I have no doubt this is in fact Moria self-reflecting from his own experiences. Have you considered why Moria wants a shadow army and is just laid-back, hoping others make him pirate king while he watches from the sidelines barely moving a finger? Not only is it cause he is a shadow of his former self or the fact his abilities literally reflect him deeply. And because Moria is depressed and never wants to go through the pain of losing his crew ever again, so he relies on zombies because they are already dead so there is no emotional attachment. It's a form of coping mechanism so he doesn't have to feel pain and agony ever again. In Chapter 90, Luffy shows he relies on other. Moria understands this well you need others to keep going in this world, but his version is far worse and twisted. Moria rather sit and sleep all-day and let other do these things for him. It's worth noting despite Moria hiding in the shadow, he is not afraid of death in the least and would welcome it. Unless it will also affect his crewmates, then he will get hurt and suffer terribly. His revenge is no doubt for their sake as he deeply cares about his crew. On another note, Moria was still a force to be reckoned with and was giving the crew a run for their money, before he decided to take the matter into his own hands. If Moria had not gotten agitated by Kuma, he might've very well been the first antagonist to beat the whole crew. The second he decided to stop running and playing it easy by manipulating the crew and Luffy with his shadows is when his downfall was already inevitable. Before he had no issues running away to drag out the fight and make Luffy waste time for the sun to get up. He didn't care about his ego, which is something Luffy has shown as well.
Spoiler for recent chapters This makes me wonder how law and kid will recover because they too were completely decimated by yonkos. Losing their ship and possibly their crew. It's also a good comparison of what happened on sabody. Luffy and the gang were completely defeated but unlike moria, Luffy didn't stay down and change his entire way but got back up a took it as an opportunity to learn and grow. Hopefully kid and law do the same thing
The thing is that he already won, and they saw it, it just take some time for the shadow to go back to them, why couldn't they just walk under a tree or something?
The animation, the dialogue - the "if you want to become King of the Pirates... Stick with me!" gives me major chills every time I watch it. Not everyone appreciates Moria as a villain, but I'm glad you do! To this day, I'm not sure why so many people think Moria is weak. Of course he's physically weak if he relies on his DF abilities. Pre-timeskip, a lot of characters were like this - Ace, Crocodile, Enel, etc. They were powerhouses by virtue of their abilities.
You're the only person I've ever seen notice that Robin got herself back up just a few minutes after losing her shadow. I think it says something about her willpower, and history of probably sleeping lightly to make a quick getaway.
"How did Gecko Moria lose in the New World?"!! Lol.. I would be surprised if Gecko Moria had managed to even scratch the guy he lost to! There is a CHASM of EPIC proportions in the power levels of guys between the first half of the Grand Line and the New World! In fact, I am genuinely curious how big of a "knife" Mihawk would actually require to beat the Zoro of Thriller Bark. Or would he be able to defeat Zoro even without a knife of any kind?
In the anime their fight had him parry a Thunder Bagura! With what appears to be the Color of the King on his weapon! Moria did loose, but it's likely his crew falling to the impressive power of the Beast Pirates was the truly traumatizing thing for him.
If Moria didn't take that many shadows in and took as much as Luffy took in (100-500 at best), then Moria would have likely won tbh. Man got to greedy which ended up as his downfall.

At this moment in the episode, I thought Gecko Moria was a trash character. But there's some lore that makes me respect him in the future and hope he gets his revenge lol
We all know that Kaido is super strong, but the fact that Moria managed to fight him and not only survive but even escape means that Moria had to be strong and/or brave back then.
Gecko moria at this moment might have became the third strongest war lord just for a bit of this time this really shows moria fruit is actually pretty good and not just a weaker version of another similar fruit way later on
@@crcoghillweaker version since he needs a corpse and to take someone shadow while the other one you can use it on anything and you use your own soul instead of having to collect it from someone but moria in my option allowing you to absorb the shadows on your own to buff you up is pretty good enough that it not just a weak version of spoiler fruit
Yeah, the weakness of Shadows Asgard is that Moria can only take in so many shadows at once and he's gone way overboard this time. Because of that, his absolute control over them is gone and is simply tied to whether or not he's conscious. Even then, he's barely conscious during that state. It does come with its own perks though. Moria's got all the strength of the people whose shadows he stole, and his own shadow is now massive, meaning his shadow based attacks get supersized as well.
1:45 that shot of Oars standing back up in the manga is still one of the coldest and frightening shots in the series. Dure, bigger threats have come in gone in the future but for this moment in time: how could they take down something like Oars? Man~ to reread it blind with a fresh mind. Something i wish i could do.
I’ve been saying, the only reason Gecko Moria lost was due to his ego and the conversation he had with Kuma. The fact that he position himself near the end of the first half means he has taken down countless pirates sailing for the New World. In a way, helping the Marines and WG in doing their job.
Gecko Moria not only lost in the new world He lost when he was in a much much stronger form with a crew full of people who also managed to face off in the new world before theor eventual defeat
kinda a double edge sword but theres no choice, because they hit him and release the shadows to defeat him but then he regains more of himself which would make him more cunning and smart, but like I said what other option would they have
2:29 to be fair: Brook and other were themselves unconscious. Luffy, Zoro and Sanji all woke up because The rest woke them up and considering she was in the mist of a giant battle: I'd be more surprised if she was still out.
The anime gets a lot of flak for some aspects of production, some of it very deserved later on. But their casting is always a 10 out of 10. Gecko Moria sounds so ridiculous and I never imagined it like that while reading but I can't forget this performance. He takes that dumb fucking laugh and makes it work.
People say Moria is weak or one of the weakest Warlords, but he's still one of the few people who fought Kaido (not to mention the fact that he's still alive after that). Moria and his abilities are still op and imagine if he took like 300+ shadows instead of a 1000. It would be an easy win. It's a bit sad they nerfed him like that.

Jack: O MY GOD HOW IS ZORO CONCIOUS
save it for later buddy😁
6 more episodes to cry
moria is pretty formidable but he faught Kaido
Moria one thousand shadow punch would knock out most people in this part of the ocean
We all know that Kaido is super strong, but the fact that Moria managed to fight him and not only survive but even escape means that Moria had to be strong and/or brave back then.
@@lisboah he lost all his crew, but somehow managed to take ryumas corpse with him while running
Next two episodes are nice as heck...
17:36 jack is foreshadowing guys
Indeed
17:22 "he's the ray of hope...oh no that's just the sun" LOL
Gecko moria at this moment might have became the third strongest war lord just for a bit of this time this really shows moria fruit is actually pretty good and not just a weaker version of another similar fruit way later on
Weaker version???
@@crcoghillweaker version since he needs a corpse and to take someone shadow while the other one you can use it on anything and you use your own soul instead of having to collect it from someone but moria in my option allowing you to absorb the shadows on your own to buff you up is pretty good enough that it not just a weak version of spoiler fruit
Cant wait for the next couple episodes!!
Wdym? Nothing happens
Yeah nothing will happen
Really what are you waiting for nothing will happen
Yea, nothing happened
bro nothing happened
Yeah, the weakness of Shadows Asgard is that Moria can only take in so many shadows at once and he's gone way overboard this time. Because of that, his absolute control over them is gone and is simply tied to whether or not he's conscious. Even then, he's barely conscious during that state.
It does come with its own perks though. Moria's got all the strength of the people whose shadows he stole, and his own shadow is now massive, meaning his shadow based attacks get supersized as well.
Yes indeed
" how did moria loss in the new world" because he encounter him.
"He's the ray of hope... oh no it's just the sun light" BOY
Moria is one of my favorite villains he is so underrated wish we get to see more of him in his prime
“How did Moria lose in the New World?”
by facing kaido that can destroy everyone on current thriller bark
"They're all gonna retu.-PANDA!" 😂😂😂😂😂
Just few episodes until "NOTHING HAPPENED" 💔💔💔
How did moria lose in the new world you say wait till this point it the story and you'll be asking haw was he even a warlord
“The real nightmare awaits you in the New World” bruh Luffy IS THE NIGHTMARE IN THE NEW WORLD!
I just realized Moria could've just used shadow revolution to make Oars move even with his broken body
Props to Moria tho, he fought the strongest creature in the new world and even lasted 3 days
I’ve been saying, the only reason Gecko Moria lost was due to his ego and the conversation he had with Kuma. The fact that he position himself near the end of the first half means he has taken down countless pirates sailing for the New World. In a way, helping the Marines and WG in doing their job.
I would loved to see a jet giant pistol or a jet giant bazooka from Luffy 2nd+3rd gear here
Gecko Moria not only lost in the new world
He lost when he was in a much much stronger form with a crew full of people who also managed to face off in the new world before theor eventual defeat
Great reaction!
Funny thing is that Moria's prediction for Luffy comes true...
"zoro would be the one to just stand there "
"Two to three businesses days!" 😂😂😂
kinda a double edge sword but theres no choice, because they hit him and release the shadows to defeat him but then he regains more of himself which would make him more cunning and smart, but like I said what other option would they have
missed the best line;
WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU WILL BOUNCE BACK?!!
because i’m rubber :))
Is it just me or was this fight extremely well animated and with a higher frame rate than the other fights in this arc?
Can’t wait for nothing to happen next episode 👀
2:29 to be fair: Brook and other were themselves unconscious. Luffy, Zoro and Sanji all woke up because The rest woke them up and considering she was in the mist of a giant battle: I'd be more surprised if she was still out.
The anime gets a lot of flak for some aspects of production, some of it very deserved later on. But their casting is always a 10 out of 10. Gecko Moria sounds so ridiculous and I never imagined it like that while reading but I can't forget this performance. He takes that dumb fucking laugh and makes it work.
NOTING HAPPENED
the real climax of this ark is just about to happen xDD
Harry up only one episode left 😉
People say Moria is weak or one of the weakest Warlords, but he's still one of the few people who fought Kaido (not to mention the fact that he's still alive after that). Moria and his abilities are still op and imagine if he took like 300+ shadows instead of a 1000. It would be an easy win. It's a bit sad they nerfed him like that.
I love thriller bark, even when nothing happens
Nothing happen is coming soon.I'm waiting
Bro forgot the Three Thousand Worlds Zoro's attack that he used against Mihawk.
Rip
nothing will happen after 3 episodes
