Hey thanks a lot! Much appreciated! I actually do more videos for Epi, have a couple different Thunderbird videos for the Classic Pro 4 string and the Pro V.
Great demo . .I bought a used one of these thru GC. It is my first bass, I've been playing guitar for a while and thought it was time for something different. I love the way this thing sounds, nice and woody or like a growling bear. My only knock on this thing is the strap button being behind the neck as it has a tendency to pitch over . Jack plays his pretty low and I've tried that and the bass does hang better down there but it is not as comfortable for me. I have no regrets about buying this bass. In about the middle of your demo with the 500 switch you had some of that Ric 4003 growl going on. The tone knob on this is as you say, very sensitive which is great. Thanks again for doing this demo.
1 good point : it's a real hollow body (and not semi-hollow as often said). 1 bad point : it's not a « completely new » model designed by Jack and Epiphone. It's actually a reissue of the Gibson Les Paul Signature Bass, a quite rare model produced between 1973 and 1979. ruclips.net/video/49S96AJzvAU/видео.html Jack Casady bought one second hand in 1985, and it became his main instument. You can see it on the Hot Tuna DVD's « Acoustic - Live at Sweetwater, 1992 » ruclips.net/video/KIPTr4PTom0/видео.html (see at 22:35) and « Electric - Live at the Fillmore, 1994 » ruclips.net/video/_cqnLclE2gU/видео.html (solo at 3:30). The Epiphone Jack Casady Signature Bass was only released in 1998 and is essentially an affordable replica of his old Gibson. A good one I must say, I bought one ;-)
"The "VariGain" gives you control over..gain..." Unless there are active electronics in that thing, ain't no gain being adjusted. According to the description, it's an impedance selector. "VariGain" is misleading.
What strings did you have on this bass when you did the review? I love the sound of them, but would you have any suggestions of what strings to use with this bass?
This probably one of the best reviews I have ever seen. Very thorough with really clear audio.
This guy should do some more reviews, great job dude.

Great thorough review... Thanks for taking the time to do this really well.
Nice! Picked up the Allen Woody Rumblekat and really like it. With the varitone on this Jack Cassidy, this might be my next bass.

This is how a review is done
Excellent video for a great bass.
Thanks!!!
It is a very beautiful bass, I hope I can buy that model some day! :-)
great demo dude.. I was looking at the gold top today.. wanted to do some research before spending a grand.. sounds like a great bass
Great review. Nice and clear.
Great review!

I actually baught this bass after seeing this review...
"The "VariGain" gives you control over..gain..." Unless there are active electronics in that thing, ain't no gain being adjusted. According to the description, it's an impedance selector. "VariGain" is misleading.
perfect bass review! thanks
Are you using a chorus effect on this demo?
just bought one today
Anyone know the song Chris was playing at the end? Sounds awesome!!
Could someone plls tell me, what is he playing right at the beginning of the video? I can't recall the name of the song :D
Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit. It was Jack Casady on bass so obviously a good one to open the video.
That’s an acoustic gig!!!!!
Does it have a bone nut?
Hi! Thank you for this review. All recorded tracks are just the bass signal into the i/o? No sound treatments?
I wonder how it responds with a pick?
respect
Nice review! Also need to check out Razer now...
What strings did you have on this bass when you did the review? I love the sound of them, but would you have any suggestions of what strings to use with this bass?
nice to have the furry distortion on top of the warm woody hollowbody tone
TAKE MY MONEY ALREADY!
cool bass but who is chris catero?
It's actually Semi-hollow, not hollow.
Is it me or does this bass sound like dog crap
I think it was the recording. I played one of these through a 300 watt Bassman and it was incredible!
