Voice and guitar complement one another beautifully Love this song This music suits my kiwi appreciation for art /music This band has a following in New Zealand
Lyrics: ✨ [Verse 1] Everything is simple 'til it's not Learned to love the ropes when you were caught See they could be braided a different way And sinking into nothing, you learn to stay [Verse 2] Singers tend to hide the truth Oh, you hear it, if it speaks to you But what do you expect? It serves them well To edit anything that's fit to tell [Verse 3] I'm no better, and I'm no worse I'm still around but it's a curse And you'll just do the best you can And time will call you a good man And sing your praise, because you would Sing it yourself because you could But what do I expect? It serves you well To edit anything that's fit to tell [Verse 4] Everything is simple until it's not Learned to love the ropes when you were caught Everything is simple until it's not Everything is simple
Heard this on college radio driving the other day, had to figure out who they were. Great song, great sound. For those not too young, almost impossible not to think of mazzy star when first hearing her voice. While similar, its NOT the same tho, so thats not meant to be a sleight, but a big compliment. These guys definitely have their own really good thing going 👍
Been a fan since the first album. Will be seeing them live in NYC in April for the 7th or 8th time. Beautifully composed, potent lyrics, Molly's dreamy voice is "all of the feels" as the kids say.
Been nearly 10 years for me, enjoy the ride as you listen more to them. Their first album was a bit rough, but Harsh Realm and In The Pines were fantastic. I'd say their third album, All Yours, was their best overall and yet they didn't like the vibe of it and went back to their origins. Plum, their previous album from 2020, has loads of incredible songs. Money, Breadwinner, The Good Ones, etc
fan of this incredible band for close to 15 years now. They are so good at times (like this album) it hurts. Saw them at Schubas on Halloween night dressed as a girl where I won the costume contest! Also at the empty bottle where I received, and still have, their setlist. I remember asking them both before the show for it and they promised it to me and even asked if I wanted to hear a certain song. I told them I loved "In the Pines" and sure enough they played it. Incredible band.
love this song so much. listened to it on repeat over and over after i first heard it, and it's just as wonderful every time. your albums are so incredible and evocative and inspiring. keep up the great work!
oh yes i love all of them...the film ...but first the music! it is a masterpice and a reason why it was worth living for those who created it and who were able to experience it!
I currently started a new business. I'm working my ass off, nonstop, to make it a success. I'l probably be doing this for the next 6 months. But then I'll have a vacation with my wife. Maybe a road trip. And this beautiful gem here, this is the first song I'm gonna play in the car as soon as we're out of town. I'm so fucking looking forward to this
Beautifully written, composed, sung, and so hooky - love the background video and guitar playing Lyrics Everything is simple 'til it's not Learned to love the ropes when you were caught See they could be braided a different way And sinking into nothing, you learn to stay Singers tend to hide the truth Or you hear it, if it speaks to you What do you expect, it serves them well To edit anything that's fit to tell I'm no better and I'm no worse I'm still around but it's a curse And you'll just do the best you can And time will call you a good man And sing your praise, because you would Sing it yourself because you could What do I expect, it serves you well To edit anything that's fit to tell Everything is simple 'til it's not You learned to love the ropes when you were caught Everything is simple 'til it's not Everything is simple Source: LyricFind
I've been following this band since 2013, nearly 10 years, and I'm happy to see them still around and making unique and wonderful music. The Jacket might just be their best album yet and I thought that they couldn't top Plum and hell that one just launched 2 years ago.

They just don’t stop, dropping sick track after sick track, album after album..
I love Mazzy Star and this band has that same buzzing trippy sound with dreamy vocals. I'll definitely keep listenin !
Easily one of our most consistent bands. What a joy.
El mejor grupo, para escuchar en cualquier ambiente. Simplemente maravilloso
Absolutely agree, such a joy, consistently.
Her voice is incredible
DITTO
This music just gives me a sense of hope to the future, thank you for this masterpiece.
Her voice reminds me of like old Sheryl Crow 1993 album and I love it so much.
Favorite band
My new favorite band. Great lyrics, musicianship.

I’m digging the drums in this one. Love the sound of this album
This song makes me weirdly nostalgic but I'm not sure what for? It's a strange but comforting feeling, hard to describe it.
Wow, this tracks got serious rumble! Love it.
Songs like this where I get obsessed and can't stop listening are few and far between. It sounds so good.
This has been stuck in my head for the last several days.
This song is dope
I love this song so much.
Lyrics: ✨
[Verse 1]
Everything is simple 'til it's not
Learned to love the ropes when you were caught
See they could be braided a different way
And sinking into nothing, you learn to stay
[Verse 2]
Singers tend to hide the truth
Oh, you hear it, if it speaks to you
But what do you expect? It serves them well
To edit anything that's fit to tell
[Verse 3]
I'm no better, and I'm no worse
I'm still around but it's a curse
And you'll just do the best you can
And time will call you a good man
And sing your praise, because you would
Sing it yourself because you could
But what do I expect? It serves you well
To edit anything that's fit to tell
[Verse 4]
Everything is simple until it's not
Learned to love the ropes when you were caught
Everything is simple until it's not
Everything is simple

Well said! I love both.
My thought exactly: Mazzy Star! However, I wish they would change the footage. "Rodeo is Animal Cruelty": ruclips.net/video/Juf3jIQRA5g/видео.html
Yeah they have been called our generation's Mazzy Star by a number and yet I find them even better. I'd say they are more diverse than Mazzy Star
me too!
@@MacSmithVideo I did end up doing an edit of this video, no animal abuse at all. On my channel. All copyright laws followed.

Beautiful song guys. You should be real proud. Hope you get to Melbourne one day.
"Tudo é simples até que não seja
Aprendeu a amar as correntes quando você foi preso
Veja que eles poderiam ser trançados de uma maneira diferente
E afundando no nada, você aprende a ficar
Cantores tendem a esconder a verdade

ผมเเม่งหล่อ😳
Da
This reminds me of why I don't like most shoegaze. Most shoegaze isn't this good.
Plum was great. But this is a step beyond.
What is an earworm that loops?
In a college town in New York State,,, kids listenin to this. Nice.
Can we get Michael Stipe involved please ?
Sounds like The Numbers by Radiohead
See if they can be braid in a different way
Um. Yup. I'm broke but I'll pay for this.
