"mono." doesnt make me sad, personally, it creates calm, nostalgic and kinda soothing atmosphere. Some of the lyrics might be very sad but RM portrays these thoughts in a way that I just think "that's life sometimes, shit happens" and it soothes me that there are people who think about the same things.

Namjoon’s writing is extraordinary and every lyric in Mono tells me something about namjoon and how he’s felt and lived.

It's basically why I've gravitated toward That Sad Stuff, like grunge, throughout my life (I'm in my 30s and pretty seasoned at living in my head). It's more like commiseration, and taking temporary refuge in knowing that someone has been able to express some of what I feel, whereas happy music can actually make me feel worse if I'm not in the right frame of mind for it. This is why I especially connect with a lot of RM's (and Jonghyun's and Suga's) work. Moonchild is my favourite mono. track musically, but I think Forever Rain is my favourite track lyrically. The only thing that does make me sad is knowing that the people who write these kinds of songs have been hurting, and might not feel like they have any other outlet to express that hurt than writing and just hoping that someone will listen.

one thing I can say is that I am completely sure that ARMYS are with BTS and we have grown this much because we felt a sense of belongingness. Just by listening and reading lyrics and music you can relate . Not just enjoy but relate to it on a deep level. ^>^

I'm moved because of the poetry of putting difficult emotions into words, him sharing that with us and the realization that this was only released because he worked through that place, giving us time to be in that space together with others who feel the same instead of being alone, and understanding that being in that place and being so familiar with the depth of self deprecation and feeling like you're always there doesn't mean you're stuck there, doesn't mean the end of moving forward or growing or changing.

I have a hard time listening to Mono. It’s a masterpiece but it feels like a romanticization of loneliness and grief. I heard someone say it’s like RM leads you to that dark room in your head where you go to cry and he sits with you there and shows you all the beautiful things about that space and then takes your hand and leads you out. I don’t like going to that space so it’s an emotional chore to listen to a lot of Mono for me.

Oh my... you have just reacted to one of my favourite songs from RM’s mixtape/ playlist. This song has very deep meaning and again... the English translations fail to express the meanings 100%. This track is for the children of the night or the ones who feel most liberated when the sun sets. However there is more to the song and would recommend you read a bit more into the lyrics and symbolism when you have time because it’s worth it. RM is a deep thinker indeed.

Badbye is pretty short. It was made to be like that, it's also a collab. So, I recommend you to react to the next track (Uhgood) as well in the same reaction. Besides, all the tracks are placed that they're "connected" to each orher in a way. That's why RM decided to called it playlist and not mixtape. He told us something like that.
Video is the last thing you should've been focussing on....also mono makes us sad cause RM had a difficult time....and it's therapuetic to us cause we can relate.
Mono doesn’t really make me sad for my own sake, because I agree that our own personal pain kind of becomes mundane over time. But it does make me sad for Namjoon. It’s hard to realize that someone you care about and admire was hurting and you couldn’t do anything about it.
Aw, Ellis not feeling sad unless it's about someone else's pain. I don't think the songs will have the same impact as they would if you listened to the album in one sitting. It's called a playlist for good reason, and I guess you lose some of the atmosphere and the journey when listened to one by one or not in that order. the lyrics are so beautiful. i cried when i first read them cuz i feel for RM and what he's going through. the whole Mono album is so painful cuz it's Namjoon showing us his feelings.

I have a hard time listening to Mono. It’s a masterpiece but it feels like a romanticization of loneliness and grief. I heard someone say it’s like RM leads you to that dark room in your head where you go to cry and he sits with you there and shows you all the beautiful things about that space and then takes your hand and leads you out. I don’t like going to that space so it’s an emotional chore to listen to a lot of Mono for me.

Oh my... you have just reacted to one of my favourite songs from RM’s mixtape/ playlist. This song has very deep meaning and again... the English translations fail to express the meanings 100%.
This track is for the children of the night or the ones who feel most liberated when the sun sets. However there is more to the song and would recommend you read a bit more into the lyrics and symbolism when you have time because it’s worth it. RM is a deep thinker indeed.

Badbye is pretty short. It was made to be like that, it's also a collab. So, I recommend you to react to the next track (Uhgood) as well in the same reaction. Besides, all the tracks are placed that they're "connected" to each orher in a way. That's why RM decided to called it playlist and not mixtape. He told us something like that.
Video is the last thing you should've been focussing on....also mono makes us sad cause RM had a difficult time....and it's therapuetic to us cause we can relate.
Mono doesn’t really make me sad for my own sake, because I agree that our own personal pain kind of becomes mundane over time. But it does make me sad for Namjoon. It’s hard to realize that someone you care about and admire was hurting and you couldn’t do anything about it.

Aw, Ellis not feeling sad unless it's about someone else's pain. I don't think the songs will have the same impact as they would if you listened to the album in one sitting. It's called a playlist for good reason, and I guess you lose some of the atmosphere and the journey when listened to one by one or not in that order.
