    I am a psychotherapist in Glendora CA and I always prefer to work with the entire family raher than an indiviual if the issue relates to the family. Improving communication and reprocessing old wounds help the family to create a new dynamic. Thanks for your informative video for families!

    This video provides an easy to understand method of Structural Family Therapy. The narrators tone makes it extremely helpful with simplifying the concepts.

    I found this to be helpful in learning how to deal with families of clients addicted to substances and the dynamics of influence among the members of that family.

    3:37 'I don't know what's going on, everything was fine before the divorce.'
    If it was fine, why did you divorce?

    • @PsychRN84
      @PsychRN84 5 лет назад +3

      Think it was the relationship with the kids. Kids were fine before the divorce, but after they started acting up.

    • @melissagarza6685

      I think she meant the kids were okay prior but the divorce caused a discord in the family dynamics and is normal for shifts in emotional well being to occur after parents split up. Divorce happens between a couple because of marrital problems not because of kid problems.

    Interesting, but in my experience as a therapist, clients tend to be more resistant to trying, to ask for more explanation "how is this supposed to help?" and certainly don't change their perspectives all at once like that.

    Bad, just bad. I realize it was a school project--doesn't make it more good. Probably better served if your instructor had not ask that you post in online and just use it in-house. BTW, I'm a therapist, 60yo. Been around the block.
