Since even though Kamala breaks ties she is not a member once she is VP so would not be included in the tally. And the tally would be 50-50, so yeah he'd be out as majority leader and we would have an advantage in almost every vote that we don't have now since not only do we have some better Republicans in the senate like Collins, Murkowski, even Romney at times, but we’d have Kamala to break ties on all partisan votes. Her time in the Senate would probably skyrocket comparing to other Vice Presidents who never had an equally divided senate to preside over.

I am one of the lucky ones to have a job at all. I had to take a significant pay cut and I am not doing well. I used credit cards to survive and now can't pay to them but much worse than that, I can't afford to help my disabled mom. I am partially disabled myself so I am doing everything that I am physically able to do but it's not even close to enough. I even have a second job where I am on call on my days off from the first one but hours were cut drastically there and I need the hours less than the other people who depend on that job as their primary source of income (people are being cut to 2 days a week and there are not other jobs in that city during the pandemic.) My primary job is in a different city, an hour away, so people can't just pick up and work there (many of them don't have reliable transportation.) I feel terrible for all of to them and see how much everyone is suffering. I am just trying to keep my own head above water but they are worse off than I am. 😞

The problem with averages is that outliers skew that number, median household income is a better metric for measuring the economic situation of most Americans.

Thank you Senator Sanders for trying to give the American people what’s needed to survive, our only hope now is to turn the 2 seats in Georgia and try to get some additional help to us after January 20th. I feel the majority leader wanted to give the president 2 defeats before the new year. Hopefully one day we can remove corporate influence from politics (cold day in hell) but the top 5% have too much power. So this is why we need more “Katie Porters” and “Bernie Sanders” in our congress to bring hope and change to American politics. Our constitution in today’s definition is “we the corporate “ not “we the people” this marks a sad day for our constitution when power and greed consumes our representatives. On the issue, I noticed Bernie when in 2010 he warned us about a day like today and effects of Citizens United. This man can't lie. He could've been a real billionaire as he is a real father and husband, sympathetic and caring statesman, a fighting workaholic, most loved and admired politician who can't lie repeating the truth so much to be accused of being redundant and single issue when and while everyone of his opponents in primaries were running on multitude of his issues. The absence of the very same issues that affects every man and woman and child in America today for worst. A UBI IS THE ONLY HUMANE SOLUTION, it should be a prerequisite of capitalism.
The need for a UBI is approaching... and during this Pandemic a temporary UBI is already needed... a permanent one probably won't be needed for another 20-30 years depending on how quickly we get AI and robotics breakthroughs, and it is when we reach an AI and Robotic combo that we will likely start seeing the largest need for a UBI, and I somehow doubt we will get it before massive human suffering... because it would require a tax on robotics and AI, and a higher tax rate for the rich as well, and increasing taxes in the U.S. is damned near impossible.
Imagine if instead of Trump, we had Andrew Yang in charge during this pandemic . . . Taiwan has only 7 COVID fatalities. We could have been Taiwan.
The problem with ubi is the price of everything will just increase until we’re forced into poverty anyway.. we need affordable/free housing, child care, health care & food.
@ And sorry but the GOP is not gonna do that. The only way to get the 2k is if the Dems take control of the Senate, in that case you'd still need 10 other Republicans to vote in favor of 2k but at least there would be a chance since McConnell wouldn't be able to block the Senate from even voting on relief along with other things that we need to actually vote on to survive this pandemic

So the senator from Texas objected, and doesn't need to give a reason? And then they move on to the next thing? What just happened?
The last few months has been a true balancing act between my rent, electricity, groceries, car repairs, and insurance. Rent always wins. Meaning that my electricity is behind right now by $526, my car has been sitting in front of my house for about 3 weeks not running at all. Food is extra tight and without a working car i can't get to a food bank on time sometimes. Being without a car has also forced me a couple of times to use door dash or uber eats. Putting an extra cost on eating just ONE meal. Here we are robbed by paying delivery fee, tax fee, "California fee" all on every order! Not to mention all items more ex than they would be if i could drive myself or get to a grocery store to prepare meals. So a $40 meal turns into a $54 meal, AND then you are expected to tip! It is all truly overwhelming!! Lets also not talk about the embarrassing Christmas i experienced this year. I know its not about gifts, but you still want to be able to get your closest love ones at least a few nice gifts. All these guys debating these issues about OUR lives, futures, or lack there of, they go home to their mansions, full pantry's and refrigerator, pick between one of five cars to drive or taking out the sail boat to "blow off steam!" STOP PLAYING WITH AMERICAN LIVES. Quit telling us we can't afford it or don't need relief. Step out your privilege and face reality! Karma comes for all sooner or later.

They won't it is not in the bill that the House passed or the Senate want to vote. Sorry to hear about your situation. You can file your taxes for the year 2020 as an independent and claim credit for the first $1,200 stimulus check and second $600 (or $2,000) stimulus check. If you owe money on your taxes it will be lowered by $1,800 (or $3,200) or if you didn't owe money you will get $1,800 (or $3,200) back.
