- I drink several cups of tea a day, and always use a kettle to heat water. I've always loved the look of Smeg items, and when I saw this kettle in the cream color, I knew I had to have it. I'm hoping it will last me a long time!

I have the same dilemma - pay $150 just to boil water for tea?? We're paying solely for its looks. I'm considering getting a mini Smeg kettle for my home office, and it'll look much better on my desk than any kettle I currently own.
some buy art for lots of money so why not. I see it as a piece of art in my kitchen :p

It is just a kettle afterall so we know all it does is boil water. Especially it has no other buttons just 1 push down. It comes down to do you trust the brands reputation and the LOOKS !! xD

The cord on the Smeg is a huge deterrent for me. It's so thick, long and rigid! How are you supposed to conceal that on your counter?
The cord actually wraps underneath the base to store and conceal
I'm trying to visualize the size esp around the middle. I normally use two 8oz cups of boiling water at a time. This one should manage that? I also don't like big kettles. I have a small galley kitchen.
The lid on these tend to get stuck over time. This version is particularly bad because it doesn’t have a release button on the lid.
Thanks for this. That is valid enough reason for me to not buy it as I have weak grip. Don't wanna end up with spillage. 😊

Yeah, definitely save your money. We still haven’t found a way to fix ours. It’s a really bad design
For the price, it should not have a sticky lid.
I don't like there's no temperature variation on it. Boil and that's it. 🙄
