04:29 Falling-over-Rockwool-August is my new spirit animal 😌 Awesome video man! Really like the narration style combined with this type of DIY project😃
Hej August och Larissa! I think this is my very fist comment on RUclips ever, but I couldn't resist: I love your videos! Portuguese here, living in Sweden (North of Stockholm) since 2012... It has been an adventure also for me :) I've just binge watched all your videos on my "fredagsmys" and what a nice time you just gave me. What an inspiration! May all the best energies and health give you both the strenght and patience for your journey - I'm pretty sure it wil be worth it - Portugal is needing new blood and ideas, so thank you and congrats for selecting Portugal as your new home - While I think we are the most previledged people for sharing our lifes with the two most beautiful Countries in the World :) Your videos are amazingly edited and produced. Larissa's laugh is so coooool! Keep going budy!!!!!! I wish I could met you one day. I wish I could help you somehow also with anything, since I have living knowledge in both sites :) Tack för att du delar med dig av ditt äventyr! Jag hoppas att din musikaliska kreativitet blir ännu bättre. Med vänliga hälsningar! Muitas felicidades!
That was super fun and interesting. It was nice of you to make a shoutout to the supplier. I like watching renovation shows on tv and i really enjoy you're vlogging your journey on renovating your new home 👏.
OMG - I bought a house in Portugal yesterday - researched insulating a roof and found your video - you seemed a bit funny so I subscribed and can not believe the name of your project.....its the same as ours!!!!
Now you need to build a suspended ceiling under the rockwool to prevent to breathe the fine particles of fiberglass.....🙂I have an old house with wood ceiling and I covered all the ceiling with same rockwool and it made a huge difference in the temps in the winter...no so much in the summer .....
I am trying to figure out the best way of covering it up. I’m thinking about actually putting up a layer of XPS to both cover it and add extra insulation. Our roof is a sandwich roof so it has both rock wool and sandwich panels. It’s really good in the summer!
Wow nice video and very helpfull. We also bought a house which needs this type of work. I'm going to look into Schelle company and could tell me which adhesive you used. Obrigado 🙏 Niclas
Good question! The idea is that it will actually keep the house cooler in the summer. The insulation doesn’t warm anything up in itself but works to keep heat or cold out or in. In short, it works to help the house keep its temperature. :)
The cool air will not come up from the basement unless I am missing something like you have a creek running under the house and this would cause humidity.
No in our basement it is much cooler in the summer and that would make the floors cooler upstairs. But if your basement is wet it would make it more humid and you would feel hotter. So I was wondering about the water seepage in your basement. Is that the reason for blocking out cooling in the summer. Summary very interest in the climate their. Thanks
I never thought that watching someone putting isolation up could be so funny 😄 I enjoy your videos a lot
Thank you!!

It’s the proper way of carrying. I am telling you.

Hej! Tack så mycket för det här! Jag är från Stockholm! Jag är väldigt glad att du trivs i mitt vackra hemland som jag trivs i ditt!
All reno vids are so serious, it's a pleasure to watch yours.
Thank you ❤️

I love renovation shows too! I think they are part of why we’re doing this journey 😂
Well done, sir. Great research, sourcing of parts, installation, and making me chuckle. Obrigado (as more and more Canadians are want to say).
next song has a random sample of the falling wood pile as a fun lil easter egg
Great idea. I will do it, for real.
Larissa laughing at you is the best. Well done Mr. DYI!
DYI = Do Yourself In?
As in I am Mr. Do Yourself In
@@tranquiloaugust That actually makes sense. And, I stopped to think before if I was spelling DIY correctly and determined I was. 🤣
Hilarious 😂

Yay great job august I hope you both stay safe and warm 😀👍👍
Thanks!
Loved this vlog.....thanks for the humor and sharing this valuable information 👍 😀

Bom trabalho! 😀👍
Obrigado!
loving this
🙏
Now, watch out to the sharp edges in the basement, and then tell us if it worked
Yeah, I know! I have stabbed myself a few times. Haha. Have to figure out how to solve that, cut them off and cover it all somehow. MORE PROJECTS!
Maybe wine corks
Did you finish it off in any way to prevent moisture damage to the insulation/mold?
Awesome video! All that work you did seems so tiring 😖
Haha. It’s fun!
Great video! Is the house warmer? :)
Mainly because of Larissa’s warm personality, but it retains her warmth better now!
Won't this keep the house Warner in the summer also?

Good tip to know - thanks 😉

@@ckfs1 Sry, not following, do you mean that the only reason to insulate a crawl space would be if you have a creek running under the house?
