Hi Dai, it’s from Australia! Love to hear more about your recipes and your life!! Please upload more. Miss you so much!! ❤
Another great recipe!! Really excited to try this, never seen the crumbly corn flour coating before but it looks soooo crunchy and banging... 15 minutes too, this is amazing. I'll have to get some beers in.
Thanks so much Albert. My sentiment exactly, crack open a beer and enjoy some crunchy chicken. Take care mate
I never knew about the crumbly technique with the corn starch to give the breading larger crispy bits and fissures. Brilliant!
Glad you liked it, give it a try!!!! thanks for watching 🙏
Amazing crunch
Will def try this recipe come Friday night.
Please do, thanks so much 🙏

Btw, how long I can keep chicken with marinade before frying it?
Thanks for another great video! I'm going to give this a shot. I think I can actually make it, though my chicken won't be as well cut as yours. Best!
Thanks so much Jay. No worries, give it a shot and you’ll become a master butcher in no time at all!!!! 🙏💪

I’m so happy that your channel has grown and you’ve clearly established an awesome community of subs there. You seem to be really enjoying the channel too which is the main thing.
Hope you and the family are all well. Hopefully see you soon mate
crispy chicken with kewpie and a dash of citrus is one of the best things ever
Exactly, just like grilled salted fish with lemon or chips with salt and vinegar 😋
thank you for the recipe Chef! But I have questions, does it needs to be double-fried? and will the crispiness stayed or it will be gone within like an hour?
That looks like the best karaage I have seen, and I’ve eaten aplenty.
Aww, thanks so much. That means a lot to us ☺️
I tried your recipe tonight, it was so delicious and crispy, I tried so many different recipe, yours definitely the pro! 😁thank you!
Thanks so much, that means so much to us 😊
Wow wonderful ❤️
Sorry for the late response. Thanks for the awesome comment
Thanks for the recipe! I made this with my air fryer. Not as nice as deep fried but still tasty!
I know what you mean. Nothing like frying in oil but couldn’t eat it everyday. So glad you tried it. Thanks so much 🙏
I know what will be in my bento box when I go back to work next week! Yum 😊
Arkonite Babe thanks Susan 😊

Glad to see another recipe chef, really helps me as a teenage aspiring chef.
You’re welcome, good luck with your journey.
Oooh Been a spell. Awesome and great recipe!

First I've watched chasu pork and now this one. Damn I'm hungry!
Ha, I usually do the same late at night and can never sleep. Thanks a lot 🙏
Making Karaage in 15 minutes.... now that's a bad ass skill to impress your friends!
Thank you for the amazing video Dai!
No problems, thanks for watching 🙏
Hi chef dai, been following you for awhile just wanna ask is this a better version recipe from the old karage recipe that u post? I used to cook karage with ur old recipe and it taste GREAT!
Thanks so much. Actually, both recipes I like. The original one is the more traditional one, less crispy. This is a much more crunchy version.
@@CookingwithChefDai okay, gonna try both recipe, thanks for ur reply. keep posting vids!
What a wonderfully simple recipe Chef, and one that we can do here ta home, Hungry now, Itadakimasu.. D&Px
Thanks so much Del, hope you and Penny are well. Sending lots of love x
@@CookingwithChefDai All good here, hope you're all ok, will catch privately! D&Px
Between this and your older Karaage recipe, which do you like more?
その料理歩と四年前の料理歩と、どちらが美味しいですか
(Did I do right? I only learned some japanese by myself and couldn't really practise for the last two months)
Ha, to be honest, I can only read katakana and hiragana so you’re much better than me. I like both, the first video is a more traditional way of cooking. This is a different spin on it, to get a more crunchy exterior. Thanks for watching
Looks amazing - have you ever tried Salad Cream as an alternative to Kewpie mayo?
You gotta be joking... Replace a premium condiment with a gustly salad cream...
You can use any condiment your wish, but kewpie is completely different to salad cream. Try and pick up some. I don’t know where you’re based but large Sainsbury’s stock it here in the UK, as well as Japanese stores too.
@@jaytorr6701 Fair point... just wanted to check if i could get a let off for this sacrilege given the pandemic...
@@CookingwithChefDai Thanks for the reply Chef Dai - the whole family loves watching your videos. We're originally from the UK but based out in the US so i'll take a look around for some here. We miss Sainsbury's :-)
That looked absolutely delicious Chef Dai, had not idea you knew the area E17 👊👊👊
😂 thanks mate. I grew up in E18
5:19 Hilarious!!! I know that feeling!!!
I found your older video on Karaage, and noticed this has an egg and flour in it (plus more of the seasonings), is that to speed up the marinade process?
The old video contains egg and flour too. To be honest, the only significant difference is the extra coating of potato flour in this video to give the karaage extra crunch.
my goodness! that face savoring the taste! whoahaha! welcome back Daisuke-san! we really enjoyed your videos! ganbatte ne! ;)
Thanks so much, gambarimasu!!!!!
Hello chef dai hope you have a fantastic day
You too mate ☀️
Great video, when is bento ya opening again?
Thanks so much. We are looking to open around end of August, early September. Please check our Facebook account for updates. We would like to open sooner but unfortunately it will not be possible. Hopefully see you then .
Can subtitute sake with the other ? Cause i can't use that. Thsnk you
Try substituting with stock or water. Thanks for watching
Thank you chef 👍
hello chef torture! i alrdy used up all my chickens for curry few days ago. imagine :)
Aahhhh, I feel your pain brother. Next time, next time. Hope you’re well and thanks for always watching our vids and commenting 💪
@@CookingwithChefDai been lovin this channel except for the hiatuses. keep up the good work!
Ha, the last video of yours I remember watching is the karaage one. How does this compare with that recipe?
I didn't know you lived in the UK
Omg, this sounds ridiculous! Def doing this!
Can i replace sake with something?
Looks great but I missed the name/brand of the Mayonnaise?
Japanese Mayo is called “kewpie”. It’s honestly the best Mayo in the universe
Thank you chef Dai san!
Chef Dai, can i use potato starch instead of flour? would that be too much potato starch taste/texture?
Use plain flour in the first stage when mixing with the marinade and then potato or corn starch for the final coating.
You can of course use potato starch in the first stage too if you wish, just put in less, a bit at a time. Thanks for watching.
@@CookingwithChefDai Thank you! I have potato starch at home because of the old chicken karaage video that you have made that included double frying. I will give this one a try and see which i like better! :D
Aww shit, chef Dai is back!
Booo yahhh!!!
Can we use skinless chicken?
I can't tell, is that your jaw popping or your teeth chomping? As a sufferer of TMJ issues I immediately assumed it was your jaw popping haha.
I am looking forward to trying this. I've been meaning to cook up some fried chicken and this style is definitely one of my favorites. So crunchy crunchy! :-D
😂 I actually do suffer from TMJ from time to time. But this was definitely crunchy coating crunch, thankfully. Thanks for watching and for the awesome comment ☺️
Any chance you could use less annoying music? Anyway, love your videos, couldn’t be happier you’re back. Cheers!
Thanks so much and I’ll try and find something else you like. Any suggestions?
Bro where have you been!?
Thank mate. This is actually our 6th video in as many weeks. Check the gyoza dumpling video for an explanation, been busy with our restaurant.
Can I do this with chicken breast?, thanks
OH. MAI. GAHD.
Why did you not double fried this one?
Much quicker and still awesome fried chicken.
