A nearby shop sells a 3m 6000 series halfmask respirator (description is pretty vague, doesn't specify the exact model), and a GVS Elipse halfmask respirator. Would either of these respirators protect me from corona virus? And if so, which one is better? They also have 3m p3r 5935 particulate filters. Will these do the job? I'm also wondering what kind of goggles and gloves to get. Most of the goggles I see have holes in them for ventilation, which I don't imagine would be much good with a virus.
Question , if I have a 3m half mask reusable mask can or should I just wear the p100 or N100 filter disk or should I use it in conjunction with the vapor and organic chemical filter that has the plastic overlay with pre filter p100 ? The reason I ask is if I were to just use the p/n 100 disk filter as a stand alone it was be just an exposed fabric filter and I wonder if then the filter itself would be contaminated with virus and therefore I would want to avoid self contamination by touching the filter and using it daily for essential outings . Thanks !

6 give or take months, OR as long as you can breathe through them, though you would have to keep them in the sun for a couple of hours make sure moisture gets out, and most viruses are gone dead. Probably having two sets of filters to leave some in the sun while you're away, or under some light anyway....
Question? How well do 3m 6000 serious vapor cartridges hold up in rain, mist or inclement weather... otherwise moisture I would imagine the "pancake" style particulate filters don't hold up so well as the vapor cartridges are more or less contained in a ..well cartridge, V.s. the disk's witch seam to be mostly "fabric". Also how would one deal with extreme moisture situations if the vapor cartridges are rendered ineffective
Are the P100 plastic case filters hard to breathe in (with a 7000 series mask)? Supposing you had to wear the mask for 2 - 4 hours straight.. Is it significantly harder to breath in P100 than in N95 cartridge filters with that mask?
If you want cheap alcohol for decontamination, look for the 98% to 100% ethanol (or bio-ethanol) sold in hardware stores as fuel for BBQs, lanterns, camping stoves, etc. Keep in mind it usually contains some bitrex to make it undrinkable. Take great care to not have any ignition source nearby when you spray alcohol, as alcohol mist is highly explosive. In my experience you can wear glasses under many full-face masks and still get a good seal, provided the temples are thin and flexible.
Not a wise choice since higher concentrations of ethanol and isopropyl alcohol evaporate too quickly to be able to disinfect surfaces against bacteria and viruses. Opt for 70%.
I already have a half face mask but I'd also like to get an s10, and the cheapest I can find are around £70-80. Is that worth it or should I just wait for the prices to drop when the virus eventually dies down?
S10 masks have been going up in price for ages, some people blame me lol for recommending them for years but it's really just because the surplus is drying up more and more, as the British army stopped using them about a decade ago and Avon stopped production around that time.
@@justink-kh3ps Running into the same issue, haven't been able to find 40mm P100 filters from US online sellers. Thanks, sir. I heard you say that the 3M P3/P100 canister filters will need replaced after maybe a day of use (due to moisture from breathing), but I’m wondering how long they would be fine just sitting out (ready to be put on, after being fitted). I believe you stated that particulate filters should be fine indefinitely if they’re just sitting out? Those cartridge filters from 3M that are P100 are the “particulate filters” that you are talking about, correct? Thanks again, sir. PS I’m not talking about the pink pad-looking P100 filters but the ones that kind of look like the one on your mask in this video.
Armed ASMR Think so. The later that we’re concerned with for viruses is the particulate filter which won’t clog left sitting out unlike the charcoal that will be useless after a day left out I believe. Unless there’s a surprise chemical gas attack, lol, you should be fine reusing the P3 filters on your mask till breathing is tough.
Nope it's the Particle dust masks that you can only use for like a day, with cased filters the exhaled breath goes out the exhale valve so doesn't make the filter dank.
can you reuse the 7093 hardcase filters? The hardcase is bulletproof but the birus is airborne so it'll be blocked by the filter itself. You can disinfect the exterior but the filter itself is still contaminated. Does this mean you're cheating yourself?
Any thoughts on when the face mask (i.e. on the 3m masks) has an expiratory valve that opens to the atmosphere? From my reading it seems like there are some studies that show that the viral particles do not make their way through that valve but definitely feels a little risky as I'm currently in COVID hospitals and attending to these patients.
I'm only having an 3M ADD 6003 organic vapour acid cartridges, I'm think of making this a combination filter with a 5N11 particulate filter. Can someone tell me is this enough. There are no other filters in my area. And coronavirus is declared in my country.

So taking out the filters you can leave the parts under the sun for 2-3 hours, and clean the mask and it's other parts... Oh wow, you answered a question I had at how long we can use a 40mm filter during a pandemic lol. Very nice.
Yeah pretty much indefinitely
Great video. I already bought a 3m full face + multigas etc. Going to order a new half face today
Cool
Thanks !
In denmark they use the P-rating, so im buying a P3 mask with the bois in the weekend
Sounds good
Hey jeg er også fra Danmark ;)
Sneezing and coughing in the elbow is important. If you do it in your hands you can spread the flu, cold, ect if you use tissue throw it in a trash can with a lid
Sneezing into a tissue is much better than an elbow. But obviously elbow is better than your hand.
Best half face and full face masks (civvie ones) in my opinion are the Sundstrom masks, SR100 half face or SR200 full face.
Can I ask what the full face mask is? Looks like a copy of a scott vision/arco filtermax
Links in the description, it's a Chinese copy of a 3M style mask, works okay if you put Western filters on it.
Can a p3 filter stop the coronavirus?
I wonder how long those filters can last if we consider i need to use the mask 7h a day, 5 days in a week (i work in a health care departmebt in a medical center)
Yea would love to know the answer to that
6 give or take months, OR as long as you can breathe through them, though you would have to keep them in the sun for a couple of hours make sure moisture gets out, and most viruses are gone dead. Probably having two sets of filters to leave some in the sun while you're away, or under some light anyway....
Question?
How well do 3m 6000 serious vapor cartridges hold up in rain, mist or inclement weather... otherwise moisture
I would imagine the "pancake" style particulate filters don't hold up so well as the vapor cartridges are more or less contained in a ..well cartridge, V.s. the disk's witch seam to be mostly "fabric".
Also how would one deal with extreme moisture situations if the vapor cartridges are rendered ineffective
I have no idea on exact times but apparently HK protesters can use 3M style vapour filters for at least hours in damp environments etc.
very helpful I've bought an S10 and got my brother in law a GSR with a 40mm filter
Are the P100 plastic case filters hard to breathe in (with a 7000 series mask)? Supposing you had to wear the mask for 2 - 4 hours straight.. Is it significantly harder to breath in P100 than in N95 cartridge filters with that mask?
1:39 Here in Brazil, as far as I've seen, it's PFF1, PFF2, PFF3, and that's just a translation of P1, P2 and P3.
Fair enough, easy to translate to to the other numbers then at least unlike the US P95, P97 and P100
thank you! can you also demonstrate the difference between a genuine 3M 6800 full face respirator mask and a fake one?
if I manage to get both a real and a fake one sure.
Excellent Presentation Friend!! You Are Performing A Great Service!! Be Well!!
2:29 HE’S INFECTEEEEEEEEED
I hope it's a cold lol, not been in contact with anyone who's been to China AFAIK in the last week or so.
Weaponsandstuff93 ur fine lmao my mom had a cold and she got over it

Coronavirus is coughing not sneezing
@@Weaponsandstuff93 not necessarily from china it could be by community contagion you could be infected and be an asymptomatic carrier, take the test
S10 masks have been going up in price for ages, some people blame me lol for recommending them for years but it's really just because the surplus is drying up more and more, as the British army stopped using them about a decade ago and Avon stopped production around that time.
what's the american equivilant of a 40mm P3 filter? when i look for p3 filters on ebay they cost about $35+ each due to $15-$25 shipping to the US
P100 is the US equivalent
@@cynicalmedic252 thank you, are there any non-pink disk p100 filters, cause that's all i can find.
P100 as C M said but sadly they seem to be sold out everywhere, they defo exist in America.
@@justink-kh3ps Running into the same issue, haven't been able to find 40mm P100 filters from US online sellers. There is a UK seller selling Scott PF10 P3 40mm filters at $23.38 (s&h included in price).

The next best thing would be to find 40mm NATO NBC or ABEK P3 filters. Even if they're expired as long as they haven't been expired for too long (like over 10 years), are still sealed and in good conditions the particle portion of the filter should still work fine (just make sure it's P100/3 rated).
I have USGI C2A1 and Avon CBRNF12B filters which have P100/3 ratings. Even these are being bought up or going for $30+ these days.
An addon to my 2nd comment
This MSA NBC filter has a P100 rating and is still in date until Sept 2021 for $29. (Link below)

Can the 3m 7502 mask be autoclaved?
And if it has to be used in a dental clinic, after how much time should the filters be changed ?
Is the Pro 2000 filter CF32 AX-P3 RD a good enough filter ?
Yes it's P3 at the front plus has vapour protection, only issue is they can be a bit bulky and heavy.
Would something like a polish FP5 filter on a GP5 mask work against the virus?
Yes it will work
@@Weaponsandstuff93 Awesome thanks for the help and keep up the great work
And is an mp 70 Bulgarian mask worse then a p3 climax 765 mask ?
can old unopened filter(like 10~40 years) protect me from virus?
Depends on the type of filter, but if it has a decent particle section that is still in good shape then yes.
Weaponsandstuff93 thanks ~
@@xychen4812, As long as it is opened and p3 (Europe) or P100/N100 (United States), it will be the most effective currently available filter.
Thanks for making a video on decontamination :)
so a p100 filter would work or do i have to find one with p3 on it?
P100 and P3 is the same thing
Thanks, sir. I heard you say that the 3M P3/P100 canister filters will need replaced after maybe a day of use (due to moisture from breathing), but I’m wondering how long they would be fine just sitting out (ready to be put on, after being fitted). I believe you stated that particulate filters should be fine indefinitely if they’re just sitting out? Those cartridge filters from 3M that are P100 are the “particulate filters” that you are talking about, correct? Thanks again, sir.
PS I’m not talking about the pink pad-looking P100 filters but the ones that kind of look like the one on your mask in this video.
if the filters are just sitting out, they have a shelf life of 10 years
sander sepp I appreciate the response. Me using the word “indefinitely” was not the best choice of word (my bad), but 10 years seems very decent
Can we just wear a GP-5 with a new filter and be good against the virus?
I have a safety works half-face respirator, p100 filter rating. When I wear it, it smells kind of strange, and it's not the rubber. Just asking if this is normal.
No idea why it would smell strange for any reason other than glues or rubber of the mask.
So it isn't the filters issues, and I can wear it without any problems?
It’s in the uk now too
Yeah I've started giving my family and friends masks
Are full face gasmasks overkill if you already have a half face respirator and eye protection?
They're basically the same thing in terms of protection.
What filters do you recommend for 3m 6000 half face mask for protection agains virus like coronavirus. I seen P100 filters it not sure
P3/P100 filters, brand doesn't matter as long as it's a good company, Scott, Avon, MSA, 3M, JSP, etc etc

Are the sort of pink and yellow P100 3m filters fine?
Do you mean the cartridges that also protect against acid gas? If so, yes since they are also P100.
I got a M3 6200, in one of your videos you buyed one very similar and said that is fake. The one you showed, sure. But there is a model that is a genuine M3.
I have a half face mask. If I fit 2 x p1 particulate filters on top of each vapour filter will the 2 x particulate filters give me more protection than just 1 of them?
Only filters available in my b&q is p2. Should I bite the bullet ? P3 is sold out everywhere atm
Will an alcohol decontaminant not damage the rubber/silicone of the mask?
I'm yet to find a mask that is damaged by rubbing alcohol
@@Weaponsandstuff93 thanks for the reply! I got myself an MSA Advantage 3100. The silicone just seems a little soft and delicate.

As long as it makes a good seal and you can attach a good filter then it should be fine
Is there an accurate source on the size of the corona virus? Some say it’s smaller than the 0.3 microns which is what N95 can only stop but not smaller particles.
The point is not to stop the actual virus but the particles that carries them
Markus Johannes Can you explain the science behind that? If the mask stops a particle but the virus is smaller, how does it not travel through the filter still?
Hey, I got an m84 romanian gas mask, i only got the filter it came with in the box. How long can i expect the filter to last against this virus, should i find myself in a contaminated area? Also, to decontaminate the mask, should i use rubbing alcohol?
Particulate filters last for years unless you are breathing lots of dust etc
@@Weaponsandstuff93 thanks !
Yo, brother, I couldn't find filters, So I had to get an A2, and attach an extra filter p2 with the extra plastic cartridge... So taking out the filters you can leave the parts under the sun for 2-3 hours, and clean the mask and it's other parts... Maybe clean the plastic filter cartridge a bit, but cleaning the P2 filters could trap moisture in it, so better get it a bit of sun... If sun is not out, get some V light? or whatever it is called... Also p3 for coronavirus is an overkill m8...right?
Do the half masks with the rc20 cartridges protect from the virus? I can't find any info bro
Spray Paint gas mask Filters Pathogens including nCov, cause the filter of the mask uses activated Carbon.
How long can I use the 6035 filter for? There is nothing online about it? 100 hrs? 30 hrs?
As it's a particle filter, out and about a couple of years, they don't expire, in a really dusty shed, a few days etc.
so i have a question this has been bugging me out for a very long time since i'm not very experienced with gasmask or filters i know little about them does Scott Pro 2000 Go with my GP-5 soviet gas mask? Ebay is running low on alot of filters so i found some in my home country but i'm not sure do they fit they do have 40mm but i'm not sure is it the correct for a super tight fit.
