    N means non-oil particles for 8 hours
    R means non-oil and oil based particles for 8 hours
    P means both for 40 hours or 30-days whichever comes first
    95 is 95% down to 0.3 microns
    97 is 97% to 0.3 microns
    99 is 99% to 0.3 microns
    100 is 99.9 percent to 0.3 microns

      95 means 95% or more coverage for the droplets that are 0.3 microns. 0.3 microns are the most difficult droplets to ward off. These masks fend off microns less and more than 0.3 microns better than they fend off 0.3 microns. Either way they still fend off greater than 95% of the nasty 0.3 micron droplets.

    Great video. You’re doing the positive pressure test wrong though, you’re supposed to breathe out lightly not pop your eardrums hard. Watch the 3M videos on youtube on it. “3M 6500”. The idea is to make the mask become slightly pressurized to check for any air leaks. If you blow out hard like that you’re just making a giant leak and who knows how it’s resetting. Great video though dude. Subscribed!

    I got a 3M fullface, it's great. A thought occurs; the exhalation is direct, meaning if you have the virus and breathe out while wearing the fullface mask, those around you will inhale that moist air leaving the mask. Since we can't know if we contracted it despite our best efforts behind a mask, it behooves us to come up with an exhalation filter of sorts, to catch the exhaled droplets.

    • @Weaponsandstuff93
      @Weaponsandstuff93  4 года назад

      I covered this in another video but you could always put some cloth or tissue over the exhale valve, should catch some of the moisture leaving the mask.

    If you need to wear a mask for an extended period of time, I recommend using a mobile CPAP-Machine with a ResMed F30 mask and a HEPA filter. It makes breathing much easier and you can wear separate protective eye glasses, which are available with prescription glasses inserts.

    In my experience, "one size fits all" means that the mask is the equivalent of a medium size of other masks, and will have a suboptimal fit for those with large or small faces. I'd personally recommend trying the small, medium and large sizes of cheap 3M masks (or whatever brand is available) to get a rough estimate for your face size, and avoiding buying "one size fits all" masks if the medium size is too small or too large for you.

    One thing to note that p100 filters and n95 mask can only filter particulates up to 0.3 microns and larger the Corona virus size range from 0.14 to 0.03 micros, meaning is less that half the size of those filters.
    However, I guess it would be efficient in filtering airborne droplets.

    In Israel, most of the population has a gas mask (due to chemical and biological weapons may be even atomic). Before the civil war in Syria, the army asked every few years to refresh the mask by gathering them and give up new ones. For the past 8 years, the government stops this procedure because they believe that Syria no longer has substantial unconventional weapons. Do you think those masks are still good/useable?

    If you want cheap alcohol for decontamination, look for the 98% to 100% ethanol (or bio-ethanol) sold in hardware stores as fuel for BBQs, lanterns, camping stoves, etc. Keep in mind it usually contains some bitrex to make it undrinkable.
    Take great care to not have any ignition source nearby when you spray alcohol, as alcohol mist is highly explosive.

    • @dcwood2137

    Thanks, sir. I heard you say that the 3M P3/P100 canister filters will need replaced after maybe a day of use (due to moisture from breathing), but I’m wondering how long they would be fine just sitting out (ready to be put on, after being fitted). I believe you stated that particulate filters should be fine indefinitely if they’re just sitting out? Those cartridge filters from 3M that are P100 are the “particulate filters” that you are talking about, correct? Thanks again, sir.
    PS I’m not talking about the pink pad-looking P100 filters but the ones that kind of look like the one on your mask in this video.

      Armed ASMR Think so. The later that we’re concerned with for viruses is the particulate filter which won’t clog left sitting out unlike the charcoal that will be useless after a day left out I believe. Unless there’s a surprise chemical gas attack, lol, you should be fine reusing the P3 filters on your mask till breathing is tough.

    • @Weaponsandstuff93
      @Weaponsandstuff93  5 лет назад

      Nope it's the Particle dust masks that you can only use for like a day, with cased filters the exhaled breath goes out the exhale valve so doesn't make the filter dank.

  • @ymxjack
    @ymxjack 4 года назад

    can you reuse the 7093 hardcase filters?The hardcase is bulletproof but the birus is airborne so it'll be blocked by the filter itself. You can disinfect the exterior but the filter itself is still contaminated. Does this mean you're cheating yourself?

    Any thoughts on when the face mask (i.e. on the 3m masks) has an expiratory valve that opens to the atmosphere? From my reading it seems like there are some studies that show that the viral particles do not make their way through that valve but definitely feels a little risky as I'm currently in COVID hospitals and attending to these patients.

So taking out the filters you can leave the parts under the sun for 2-3 hours, and clean the mask and it's other parts... Maybe clean the plastic filter cartridge a bit, but cleaning the P2 filters could trap moisture in it, so better get it a bit of sun... If sun is not out, get some V light? or whatever it is called... Also p3 for coronavirus is an overkill m8...right?
