Pediatric doctors and nurses are something else.
When my son needed surgery they let him hold on to his stuffed animal in the OR. When he was done, they had given the animal an IV and dressed his arm just like my son, and the doctor even repaired a small tear in a seam with some stitches.

When I was little I had a lot of bladder issues and when I was 7 I had to have surgery. The doctor let me take my stuffed Minnie Mouse into to OR with me and when I came out they let me help put in a little IV for her. It made me less scared and I knew I wasn’t alone on my journey. Fast forward 7 more years, I had to have the same surgery again a couple of months ago, and they did the same thing with one of my squishmallows. It made my day, even at 14 years old!

My child had 16 back procedures. I was there for all of them. I walked back to the OR with her time and again. It was fascinating, and heart wrenching. She had a loose tooth one time, which we told them, routine, and when they brought her back from recovery, they had a plastic bag with the tooth, a sticker, and 3 dollars. I was staying with her overnight and brought in the tooth fairy pillow. She was given an additional $25. (My dad loved to "pamper" (spoil) her.)

I think it’s more a case that he is still a child at heart … or he remembers what it feels like to have had a doctor who helped him feel better when this doctor was a child himself. I suspect that he was a “sick” child when he was small child himself & he had a doctor who treated him the same way that he had had who acted in the same way so he took care of him the same way that he now treats the young That
he now treats his young patients he now treats his own patients.

I would be crying all the time and that wouldn’t be professional, wouldn’t be good for anyone including myself. The thought of babies dying gets me, but witnessing it 😔 That is indeed a rare breed. When my daughter was seen on Friday she told her Pedi how her heart feels like it stops beating and she can’t breath!! And then when it starts beating again she can breath.. I will not lie we were BOTH!! Thinking that it could be her anxiety or her Asthma.. Well She was listening to my Daughter’s Heartbeat for a while about 3-5 minutes straight and she actually heard her heart skip 5-8 beats at two different Times.. at that point an EKG was ran and it picked up on the EKG as well she goes to see a pediatric cardiologist tomorrow!! 4 hours away because that is where she felt that my daughter would get the best care. After she was done with everything my Daughter looked at her and said See that is why I am going to die before Christmas. It brought tears to all our eyes Mine, the Pediatrician as well as the Medical assistant that has become very close to our family. I would not trade her as my children’s doctor for all the money in the world.. She makes she she talks to my daughter at a level she understands and she treats her the same way she would treat her own child.. She is a True Angel..

My friend just had a baby and while some of the staff were amazing there were a few who were absolutely horrendous. My friend was high risk and she never dilated past 7cm and so she may have needed a c-section. A nurse gave her food (which she was only supposed to be on a liquid based diet) which was dangerous as it could have caused asphyxiation during the c-section, luckily she didn't need the c-section but she was in rough shape after and it was almost a c-section.

He actually self admitted it when I came out and asked him directly, you're a narcissist aren't you? He answered back, PROUDLY yes, yes I am!!! I was floored by his admittance. It just is the wrong profession for a narc to thrive in!
