They did. They put them as consultants. I have a feeling they’ve been trying to get this guy to not do stupid things and did not succeed because he’s stubborn and all about “the message”. I sort of remember Beau De Mayo as a guy who wanted to hire fans of the IP's as the writers because they love the product. He strikes me as someone who isn't part of the woke cabal, despite being a checkbox hire. As a generous interpretation, he may have been fired because he was fighting the studio over the direction of X-Men 97. They might have been scared of him raising the same stink he did over Witcher's botched creative decisions. I mean, what is more likely, a sudden firing of a glorious diversity example without trial over anything inappropriate, or the sudden firing of a guy on the side of the fans?

There is no beloved classic X-Men 97 show. X-Men 97 is new. There *was* an X-Men The Animated Series you may be referring to, which this series originally claimed to be a sequel/follow up to.

Same here although I slowly started to bow out of Marvel in late 2014. After Endgame I only bothered watching the 2 Spider-Man movies and only bother with Spider-Man and Thor comics right now.

A different possibility is that maybe he would get a nice cash bonus on release of the series. Disney is scrambling to get every dollar they can to show they are profitable. I could see them saying, well, no season two, and we can save a half million or a few million by firing him immediately.

It will be woked up, but that will be a feature, not a flaw. X-Men is inherently woke.
Just a guess here but due to all the failures Disney had and now being in a financial trouble, my guess is that they made the showrunner do some changes to the xmen to not incorporate their initial agenda which probably didn´t fit well with him and got to his firing.

This show was likely only green lit for one season anyway, and they knew it was gonna flop. This was going to happen anyway, they just did it for maximum effect with the proxy battle going on. "LOOK, WE DID SOMETHING!!" is all this is.

Just like previous projects XMEN 97 was already spiraling down the road of angering the audience. The underlying issue imo is arrogance with a healthy dose of ignorance towards the audience. They cannot understand why people who are heavily invested in characters are suddenly upset when they make nonsensical changes nobody wants. Is this the sole reason for the firing? Who knows, but what is clear they are in another mess of their own making.
What if the show's a hit? What then?

Honestly, I feel like Disney/Marvel missed the opportunity to create their own version of X-Men in the aftermath of Endgame. Thanos' snap released a giant wave of gamma radiation, destroying half of all life in the universe. The snap to being it all back did the same.
Hulk was created through a massive dose of Gamma rays. They could have had random people start developing mutations as an unintended consequence of the snaps & the resulting gamma radiation exposure.
They could have formed an all-original team of mutants to be that universes x-men. No having to hold to the old rules and cast and stories.
Like I said, missed opportunity.
Remember back in 2014/2015 Marvel was really trying to push the Inhumans as the replacement for Mutants. If that idea never fizzled out I think we would be seeing something similar to what you said going on currently in the MCU.

I've een reading the tea leaves on that situation and they got a major disaster brewing with the Silent Hill 2 Remake and the movie whose crew has already been going on about updating it for a "modern audience"

Disney is no longer capable of making good content that fans will enjoy. Deadpool and Wolverine is (hopefully) a genuine exception only because it was greenlit under Chapek and it seems likely that Ryan Reynolds was allowed to be Ryan Reynolds. However, under Iger's tenure these days, everything sucks harder than a black hole filled with vacuum cleaners.
I don’t want to add to the speculation but it is very unusual and if the firing reason is given I will be checking back in.

They're hiring only those who meet their sick minds. This might hurt a revival of "Spider-Man 94," "Iron Man 94," & "Fantastic Four 94." Today these shows can't be made without making someone gay, trans-gender, or "neurodivergent." What a haphazard situation Disney & Marvel got themselves into.
Renewing old IPs has to be done right. Hawaii Five-0 was done well. Magnum PIs reboot did not really sing with fans of the original. It strayed too far from the buddy action/comedy of the original and had too much woke.

Disney is RE-writing the show the way it was meant to be. Everyone is gay and trans. It’s obvious that’s how Stan Lee really felt, he just didn’t live during a time that accepted that.
The troubling part of the firing is that it likely wasn't because he was ruining the franchise--that didn't even seem to bother Disney as long as it had woke garbage in it. Maybe this firing will allow them to fix what wasn't broken.

Why won't they bring us the original 1960s X-Men? That's the version I grew up on.
This revealed the interworking of Disney they already will claim X-Men 97 was a huge success and it will be renewed like they already finished season 2 writing under his lead!
With Majors' treatment considered, this firing may have more to do with the proxy war than anything else. If this guy cared about Witcher cannon, even if he wants to wokefy X-Men, he may lean more towards Peltz's idea of bringing the magic back.
