- The owner of this car graciously let me make this video, he was selling it so I'll put the contact info at the bottom of the description. I was so ecstatic to be able to check out one of these cars, I've wanted one since I got my drivers liscense haha. A classic american drop top designed for luxury, comfort, and gorgeous styling for back in the day. A nice look at what things used to be in American car culture. In this video I give a full in depth tour of 1976 Cadillac Eldorado. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
The owner's name is Mr. Ed Keller, all questions about price and what not should be directed to him

If they make a new model eldorado with the same styling as this one but with a more efficent engine, better steering, and updated tech I'd buy one. They styling is what really gets me about this car
What is REALLY amazing is that in the late 70's our parents DROVE these behemoths every day!!
Can you imagine PARKING these things every day??
Mark O When you learn to drive with boats you learn to park.
its easy because you can actually see the where the front of your car ends
Actually these cars were very easy to drive and park. The power steering was very smooth and easy, one finger to make a U-turn.
I own a land yacht and they are pretty hard to park. U-turns can be a pain at times but I wouldn’t trade it for anything!
Hey I Have a 1976 and 1972 that I rotate daily. They aint that hard to park
Beautiful!!!!! It also had telescoping steering wheel, and no cover on the air filter. Those cars were flawless!
Awesome Eldorado in great condition. Why would anyone run this fine machine with the filter missing on the carburetor?
1:21 love this horn
In 1976, my dad had a BUICK RIVIERA, 455CID 4v. Sae-net 205hp,my grandpa had a hard top Eldorado 500cid 4v, 190 sae-net hp. On Saturdays, I'd wash 1 car & my Lil bro would wash the other. Afterwards, we drive them to deserted roads & race these beautiful roadsleds. The Buick won just about every time. Those were REAL LUXURY CARS back then. The only time the Cadillac would win was in wet/snow covered roads. Traction in foul weather was NEVER a problem in gramps Eldo. Nice car & video.
that low grumble of that big V8 tugs my heart strings
What a nice stylish car. I love older American cars, there where so well made. And the dual door handles on the passenger door is so cool and the indicator on the hood.
I own a 1976 Eldorado convertible, that I bought 11 months ago. It had 89K+ miles on it when I first got it, it has about 92.5K on it now. What he called "indicator lights" on the fenders, are actually Lamp Monitors, that are fiber optic repeaters of the respective lights, i.e., headlight, high beam, and turn signal. I am getting 8-12 MPG, using 100%, 87 octane, gas.

With my 3.8 l Park avenue , i used to burn more than 15 liters/ 100 km (in France..1.4 Euro/liter at the time..) so your score is respectable.
Back when GM know how to make a luxury car
American cars should still be made like this. I love German cars now-a-days because you can't beat their handling / speed / comfort all in one package; but, this is the type of car you need for those long boring American highways.
Once again Kyle you've done it again:) I don't know which is the coolest you've done now, this or the 62 Series 62 no pun intended lol! What an incredible roar from that 500!
@arfi1990 INCORRECT. In 1976, the 500 cu in V8 produced 190 hp and 360 lb-ft torque.
The "400hp" figure was the engine's original rating before SAE net ratings, emissions and lowered compression took hold.
Now that's a beautiful solid looking, big heavy boat anchor of a car!
Just listen to those huge 200 pound doors bang shut!
Thanks for the awesome tour of this wonderfull car!
Beautiful and spectacular. A car with personality and style, not as the dull fat cars that are made today
Great find kyle brings back alot of memories my father has one back in 70's was totaled in a accident in may of 1980 seen pics of that car was good looking car
It warms my heart to see a good old classic Cadillac. Too bad they don't make them like that anymore.
2:45 My dad's 1991 Cadillac Brougham has those as well, never knew what they were though until now. Thanks Kyle! Great vid.
yo kyle! great video as alwasy! i dunno if you'l see this comment since u got so many subs now and comments, but great video as always! a tank of a car!
if you ever see a 85-91 buick park avenue, id love to see another one like mine! LOL
This car is such an amazing classic!!! 1:23 I love the horn, and the viper alarm at 0:29!!!
Edit: you forgot to turn on the hazards.
Kyle - again, congratulations on a superb video! Here's some fun facts about the Eldorado: 1976 was the final year that buyers could get an Eldo convertible because GM called it "The Last American Convertible." People scooped them, sometimes at thousands over MSRP, only to discover that it wasn't meant to be. GM brought back the Eldo ragtop for 1984, causing the buyers to believe they'd been duped. Also, this was the last domestic full-size car to use only front lap belts. It cost over $11k new.
this is one of the very few cars that look absolutely stunning in white color
Wow, that Eldorado's in great condition. Anybody else hear the carwash song playing in their head while Kyle did this review? :o)
Awesome work again man.
This thing is in amazing shape for its age!
I had them on my new '76 Buick Electra 225 Landau coupe. It's called fiberoptic lamp monitors. Atop the rear window there's 2 lights for regular lights &/or brake,& turn signal lights. They were visible via the rearview mirror. Saves alot on tickets
It is beautiful and enormous!
it drives me nuts when people look at the odometer in an older car with 5 digits and say oh look! it only has 30000km! that could pretty easily be 130000km. they can wrap ya know.
The biggest tell on mileage of Cadillacs of this era is the "wood" inlay in the steering wheel. If it's there, it's a low mileage car.
These where cars, not the plastic , computer filled crap today
Only one problem
No manual transmission
Muzibour Rehman They would suck bad with a manual they didn't go very fast
The ''wood'' was plastic though. Weird for such an expensive car
Only Cadillac is what I need, WHAT A MONSTER!!!! I love every ounce of it!
What a beautiful Cadillac Kyle! Keep up the good work!
@form109 In the very early 70s. Sometime around 71 or 72, horsepower ratings changed due to the switch from gross HP to SAE net HP. That brought stated horsepower ratings down by a huge margin, yet performance remained the same until smog controls were instituted.
I've never seen such a clean Motor in a caddy...
What a beautiful car!!!
You never put the convertible top down :(
Several things. The 'new' convertible top is missing the glass window with rear-window defrost. That was standard on these Eldorados. The HP rating for 1976 was 190HP and 205 if you had the fuel injection which started a year earlier. I'm also surprised this car is missing the power seat for the right side passenger. I wish he lowered the top as well. Over all, a very beautiful car! This is the best looking Cadillac ever made IMHO.
Love how there's no 2 gear. Just "DRIVE". HA! So awesome!!
As much as I like, say, the CTS-V coupe, the '76 Eldorado convertible remains my favorite Cadillac.
I would love to own one. The only mod I may do is to inconspicuously add an updated stereo with Bluetooth; I would wish to retain the stock look and feel of the car as much as possible, inside and out.
Just a great car to cruise around town with the top down, especially close to the beach.
Heck, one of my favorite movie cars was a Cadillac Eldorado convertible used in "Commando."
"We'll take Cooke's car. He won't be needing it."
That movie destroyed a Sunbeam Alpine roadster and dented up a Porsche 911 Targa. Thank God they didn't even scratch the Eldorado in that movie.
My favorite car of all time. A real badass.
I had a new 1976 rag top Eldo. What a GAS HOG. It drive like a pretty barge.
Фантастика!!! Дорожный крейсер!!! Если отреставрировать, будет великолепный автомобиль. Fantastic! Road cruiser! If restored, will be a great car
Love your videos Kyle. Very informative and interesting. You have pretty much reviewed a crap load of vehicles. Ranging from convertibles to freaking limos and trucks haha., Thanks for uploading all these wonderful videos. I hope you will upload a fire truck one day haha or even a bus. Thanks.
~Amadino.
Great Video Kyle That's a classic!
My favourite car of all time!!
Cool! My great grandmother has this car! Except I don't think hers is a convertible. Nice video! :)
@arfi1990 Only in 1970 did that engine have 400 horse. Everything started dropping off in 1971 for GM powerwise. By 1976 they were down to 190 with a carb and a little more if fuel injection was optioned.
Oh, the sound of that motor...But it seems to be missing the lid on the air filter housing.
Wow kyle what a awesome find. Hopefully you can do a Coupe DeVille as well. Is this the Eldorado with the 500? That was one bad ass engine for its day. lol
Love these cars!
Awesome car.....I wish they still would build cars like that nowadays
can you believe my uncle is giving my sisters and i a 75? hell yeahhh!!
Great video!! One of my dream cars for sure.
that ride is pimpin.
I'm not a big fan of American cars, but there's something about the Eldorado that I seriously admire. It's the epitome of America. Big, powerful, and excessive (in a good way).
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!! Always been a Biarritz or Elegante admirer. I'm still hoping to find a video on a 1988 Cadillac Cimarron with a BOSE sound system. Keep up the GREAT WORK!!> Jose
OMG, The 8L FWD goodness in all it's glory. I would like to own this car just to have a hilarious cruiser. Of course, with current gas prices i wouldn't come very far. :))) How many mpgs do you get? 8?
BTW, Very nice Genesis. Is it a V6?
Oh yeah this one is pretty nice! Still want a blue one like the one seen in the Terminator
After watching The Terminator, I fell in love with this Eldorado.
No matter what, im getting one of those...
i like how u do old cars too
whoa they had keyless entry in 76?
That is not keyless entry.
I think the alarm system is aftermarket.
Yes it is... Not the modern smart keyless entry and start, but still keyless entry nonetheless.
hahaha the chicken clip is very funny!
other goodie for me ^-^ great video.i saw keyless entry no European had that
this is for me a cadiliac niceee to dream dream
i LOVE this car!!! Here in Brazil costs about R$100k (US$60k)
@saabkyle04 the hp did not change from the 74/75 to 76, it was just rated differently, the same engine
omg i love ur channel :D
on my 1992 Buick Park Avenue , i also had this strange "trunk locker" that seems to me like an unuseful option.
What's the use of such o powered trunk if you need a key to unlock it ?
He apparently it's not aware of the button inside the glove compartment that opens the trunk
Woah wasnt expecting something more than a 454. Haha huge engine
The Owner Is Just Chilling There Looking At His Beautiful car Get Famous On RUclips
do a test drive kyle plz great video as always
The narrator failed to demonstrate the mechanical operation of the convertible top. What's up with that ?
This is good car! I am from Russia, We only dream car! You in America are very good cars!
Very Nice Cadi!
Hmm - sweet motor but they could have done without the background noise from the road
i dont wanna creep you out but did you notice the guy that stood there looking at you the whole time? really thats scary man!
The Fleetwood Brougham was a little heavier at 5,300 pounds. The Eldorado weighed in at around 5,000 pounds. The Monte Carlo, Riviera, Toronado, and Grand Prixs were between 4,500 - 4,800 pounds.
True, I have a 1974 Eldorado and it's base horse power is 210
These are real cars right here. Cars these days won't last as long as this yacht.
Love it!Best condition!
@90Mrknowitall This sure is art! I love the american cars from 40's to 80's. Every one of them looks like theres a lot of love put into it, and each one looks like it was completely hand built. Its a shame that american car industry today is in terrible state. Not many cars models are produced, and those that are, are mostly crap.
Can't have an Eldorado without animal prints and fuzzy dice! That's like air without oxygen
so many criticize this car, but at the time this was the best you could buy...at the time Toyota had maybe 70 hp...so 180 was a lot in the day
My pops had one of these in black. He bought it for $700 back in 1987.
I love the V8 in these Eldys, but man I'd love to see one of these running on a Northstar.
There is something seriously wrong with you
@sirmasterpimp the smog pump had a big effect on the older engines back then
No need for airbags on that monster! What a tank! Out of the way smart cars!! lol
class class class class....class
Very interesting indicator of lights.
How to get the light to this indicator?
"Fiber Optic?
very classy old car.
@MrPS3Wii in the mid 70s till the last half of the 90s, there were high restrictions and it robbed horsepower. An open 500 on a 1970 elderado had about 400hp and about 500ft/lbs of torque.
I really like the grille of the car.
@scottdisney83 But you have to remember, we're talking 1976 dollars. And anybody on here who was around on or before my birth year ('82) will attest that $11k-$14k was a lot of money in '76. $11,000 in 1976 is equivalent to approximately $43,550 in today's money.
Very cool car!
Thank You Kyle's Girlfriend! Nice find! :) Nice job too Kyle, gotta love chickens... haha xD the and was awesome! xD
@koioo2 lol no American car had keyless entry back in '76 either. That is an aftermarket keyless system.
My dream car.
I love american cars & I love the America.would like to live there and to work for this great country
DAYUM~! thats what i call a cadillac!
@sirmasterpimp In 1970 that engine had 400 horsepower, but that was before they lowered the compression.
btw whoes that guy standing b that white car? it looked like he was watching you the entire video lol
kyle, pause at :32 is that your friend or something?? Cheers!
Darn superb.
