the Best Year Ever 1976 !
I saw Elton there in Philadelphia the day after this concert on July 7, 1976! Let me tell ya he was absolutely phenomenal.. he was incredible at this timeframe!!!!
I was at this one or the next night. It was Great Night, Great Music... I do remembered at one point Elton ran across the stage to the left and jump on this rope hanging from the ceiling and started swinging.. I said to myself OMG!!! "Please don't Fall"... Elton John ***Awesome*** ♪♫♪

band Ray Cooper percussion? or he was probably out sick
Davey Johnstone - lead guitar, musical director, backing vocals
Cindy Bullens - backing vocals
Jon Joyce - backing vocals
Ken Gold - backing vocals
James Newton Howard - keyboards, backing vocals
Kenny Passarelli - bass guitar, background vocals
Roger Pope - drums, percussion
Caleb Quaye - rhythm guitar, backing vocals
that was my first concert, I think i do remember seeing Ray Cooper at the show as I was just learning drums and I was interested in watching Roger Pope and seeing the percussionist. I remember Ray playing the marimba on Island Girl. Although someone I have talked to who was also at the show swears Ray was not there. I think she was mistaken as I believe I remember seeing Ray Cooper there. I also remembered the background singers and the arrow shaped lights going around the stage and the glitter piano.
Ray Cooper was sick, may have had surgery (Elton said he was "re-coopering" .😁) and missed a number of shows on this tour.
I am pretty sure he was not there on the the 7th. I don't remember seeing him with Elton in concert until years later.
@@callmeerrol Is it possible Cooper may have recovered by the 7th and returned? The reason why I ask is that I swear when they played "curtains" at the show, I remember someone hitting the chimes and it would have had to be Cooper.
@@stephenmarshall4825 my brother and sis were at his july 4 concert in Boston, ray was not at that one,I don’t believe he was at this either
@@bruceski2133 I remember distinctly someone hitting the chimes on the song, "Curtains" I don't know who that would have been other than Ray.
Beneficios turpin
Most to be in the top ten guitars ever.
I wss there
Great show
I was there ! Picture is not what he wore though.....black jacket with multi colored foil circles
Do you have any photos of the concert?
@@EmmanuelHercules I was 13 yrs old. Made it to the front row with my Mom's 126 Instamatic. I had one "ok" photo...but sadly it was damaged years ago.
@@blackbirdsocietyorchestra8471 I was there with my father!! Did he do an afternoon show? I could swear it was. ? I was also 13.
PLEASE HELP IF THERE WAS AN AFTERNOON SHOW??
This was a truly special Time with my father. I weep now. We couldn't believe Elton's antics!!
First time of five i have seen him. England with my husband last time, 2002 ....
