Yeah, Personas message is usually in line with internal conflict rather than external. Sure there are outside forces involved (death, murder, corruption) but at its core the "Persona" is a representation of the "other self" or the version of you that you hide from the world. This goes in tandem with Shadows which are the representation of humankinds desire, malice, apathy (it changes with each game). Ultimately the games are psychological, as nearly everything that happens in them is caused by either a single persons psyche or the mentality of the mass collective such as Nyx appearing due to apathy from the masses and places like mementos and tartarus existing. Idk how Nature would reflect the human psyche or "persona". It makes much more sense that it would be another internal struggle such as envy, unless nature would be tied to tragedy, change or acceptance of what you cant control, then I could get behind it.
I'd say Yu's hair is the color it is because the truth isn't black and white, like we'd prefer it be, but somewhere in the middle, hence gray. I only say that because the concept of finding your own truth is woven into every fabric of the game. The true ending quite literally has you reject the bow wrapped ending you'd get in many games and follow the nagging in the back of your mind until you find your own truth, or the real truth of the matter.
Yes the grey zone I do quite like this interpretation and this has been used atleast a bit in other Japanese games like in varying different ways like Yakuza 7 aka Like a Dragon with Bleach Japan trying to eradicate the grey zones with everything being either black or white in their eyes.
@GerfdasGaming In that case, let me correct. I aspire to reach the absolute level of confidence in others to refer to a leak on an unannounced game as spoilers.
Persona 5 isnt about corruption- its about rebellion. Corruption is just an easy way to show that. Otherwise, like, Maruki isnt corrupt- he's using his power for what he believes to be a genuinely good cause. Otherwise, like, Joker rebells against the society that repeatedly mistreated him. Ryuji and Ann rebel against Kamoshida's abuse. Yusuke rebells against the art thievery. Makoto rebels against the idea that the mafia boss can get away with this and use them. Akechi rebells against Shido's abuse of everything and everyone, as well as the idea of Maruki being able to control everything and everyone. The story is about rebellion against that corruptuon- it would be the equivalent of Persona 4 being about the fog. Consider the color red- anger, blood. What do we call acts of anger against a force of power? An act of rebellion.
@@GerfdasGaming partially that, partially because it has a very different feel. corruption implies that it's the main focus, rather than the focus being on the people fighting against it
@@GerfdasGamingno no, I think they’re right. It’s about corruption to an extent but the main theme is definitely rebellion, lest you forget the whole “wings of rebellion breaking thy chains of captivity” and all that.
@@Macey88 Sure, but you can't have a theme of truth without exploring lies, or the fog that obscures that truth. You can't have rebellion without corruption. While persona 4 is about finding the truth hidden in the fog, 5 is about rebelling against the corruption in society. When I say ''-contrarion for the sake of being contrarion.'' That's not a statement on who's wrong or right; I'm saying that both statements hold true, and no matter which sort of 'theme'' you follow, it leads to the same conclusion. Of course I know the games focus more on the positive side (fighting against lies/corruption) but when formulating the video, I simply focused on the negatives. That's why at some point I also mentioned ''-among other things.'' It's also true that the ''yellow'' for Persona 4 has to do with happiness as well, given the game's overall ''upbeat'' feel. You have the 3d environment, better battle system where you can control your party, and the epilogue in one package now, rather than having to play it on PSP and PS2 to get everything. FeMC is the only thing we’re missing.
Theory: the colors of the game are based on the protagonist's initial persona's focus: Seimen Kongou - Ailments(Purple), Vulcan - Fire(Light Red), Orpheus - Support/Buffs(Blue), Izanagi - Electric(Yellow), Arsene - Curse(Dark Red). Persona 6 being green, I'm gonna bet their initial persona uses Wind lmao.
This might be a stretch but I’ve always thought the yellow in P4 meant sunshine that showed the truth. I thought that it symbolized a sun/sunshine shining through the fog. When you look at some photos of fog you can still see the sun shine through. It might be a stretch but that’s what I thought it was.
That's a good interpretation! The directors/developers of the series have gone on in interviews giving mixed answers on the meanings. They've said both ''happiness'' and ''fog'' for 4, while 5 they've said ''rebellion'' and ''corruption.'' At the end of the day; It's art. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and so if to you that's what it means, than I personally believe it's as valid as any other interpretation, even when considering the artist's original idea. Not a stretch at all!
This was always my take. Light illuminating the environment, or “the truth” so to speak. I feel like the idea of happiness is also kind of baked in as well. Tonally, P4 is a much more upbeat game compared to the previous personas. It really tries to convey this mystery your solving with your friends. The whole game basically feels like summer break with your besties.
I think that the game theme will not be about the nature, Persona game have always a message about self-improvement (don't kill yourself, accept the true even if you don't like it and everyone have the power to change the world, so do it), so I think that the main theme of persona 6 will be about mental heal (green ribon is the symbol of mental heal)
My personal theory for the longest time has been that persona 6 is going to be about healing and humanity’s inability to let go. Green is a color associated with health but also growth.
I feel like this idea is a lil on the nose but green is also commonly linked with money so maybe persona 6’s message could deal with greed derived from either the idea of maintaining or gaining sum form of wealth in greedy ways can cause many to corrupt their morals in various way that can be explored (sum examples could be: abandoning loved ones for fame, increasing number of political/police bribes, selling your body for money and much more) this could also tie in well as maybe those that face themselves overcome this greed while those that can’t are fully corrupted by this greed and have to be defeated
Green is also a color that can be used to represent mental health, which could possibly mean the plot for persona 6 is about stopping the shadows from bringing about a type of mental Armageddon? Because of that I can see the MC possibly having white hair, sort of as a “guiding light” metaphor? Or a “light to illuminate the darkness”, the darkness being one’s poor mental state of mind.
P6 protagonist will have brown hair, green shirt...and a talking dog companion. We will be assisted by a buff blonde guy,a pretty redhead and a nerdy girl. No more high school. We will navigate around the world in a van, called the Mystery Machine.
Idk if p6 is the final game but a good theme for the final persona game could be fear since every persona game has been with a specific theme but with fear as a common feeling between them fear of death, fear of the truth and the fear of ruin and being controlled
Here’s another way to look at the yellow/golden color of Persona 4. Fog/smoke can obscure things naturally, but something that old SWAT and SAS units found when they were using really old flashlights on their weapons was that the Yellow incandescent bulbs that the lights used worked better to see through the fog/smoke, this yellow showing the truth. This may be a bit of a stretch tho 😅
This reply is going to be spoiler heavy, so read at your own risk; Adachi worked as a detective. He used his position as an officer to not only carry a gun, but to also make himself inconspicuous. In the same way that he used his position to carry about the murders, the truth is masked in the same light that investigators normally use to solve cases. A massive stretch as well, but very twisted and thought out if true.
I said this jokingly in reply to another comment on here, but I genuinely think that if this line of thinking is accurate, Persona 6's main party could end up operating on a similar MO to Avalanche from FF7 with a Persona twist (that is, using their "other world" to destroy the embodiments of enterprises that are killing the Earth in order to save nature/the planet).
Since green is also associated with jealousy and envy, maybe they could have purple hair, since purple is a royal colour and people are often jealous of others, such as those who are wealthy (eg: royalty) Maybe a stretch idk
Would've figured Yu's hair being gray would mean "That Truth isn't always black and white. Good or Bad kinda like how Adachi and Yu are the same just had different circumstances that led them to their path."
If you know that persona is based off Carl Jung's psychology of the persona. You may have noticed that there'd a chart using colors to describe truth if I remember. The chart is a mixture of blue, yellow, and red and when compared to the color schemes of games it matches when reversed. Also blue butterflies are used to describe the blue on the chart just like those seen in P3.
That's really interesting. If I'm understanding it correctly and the blue butterflies are connected to them all, that also holds true to the series with the blue butterfly being Philemon. interesting stuff!
Green is associated with growth, nature, health, and prosperity. It could be abkut all of these. Now in a sense like a societal affect it could be about nature, it could be about cults, and greed which is the reverse of that. The rhings that affect health would be mental health, exercise, nutrition, false information, fear and anxiety and depression. It could be about a combination of these things overall affecting the health and imbalance of the collective consciousness.
Nice theory. Green can be a associated with Greed so the main character can be blonde. Though there is also Envy and brown can fit with it being a color that doesn't necessarily stand out nor is overall special being a common hair color in many places and envious people want something that makes them special and be better than others.
Is funny how everyone thinks next Persona theme color is gonna be green, but who knows, personally I'm more eager to see something about the next main entry in smt
The colour green has a lot of meanings, but these are some exaples. P6 themes (just my theory): Envy, money, stability, hope, nature, life and reborn Velvet room: a bank or a private plane Protagonist: yes, brown hair The plot: if we take a look at the themes we see before, mostly would be about how money and wealth have an impact on society, those who do not possess those goods only feel envy, on the other hand those at the top are just tyrants. It would be interesting to see a haughty and arrogant protagonist (because of his parents) who with the passage of time completely changes his mentality, hence the theme of rebirth (although it would be better presented in a more mystical way), also it would be great if the next space cognitive was a dark forest or a garden labyrinth and that the way to invoke his Person was by burning a bill or dollar This was literally translated with google translator lol
I thought that the theme of P6 was going to be wishes. What people around us wish to be which contradicts the concept of nature .would it be cool if the main starts of as someone who believes that you can't fate ,you can't change the nature of and then during he figures out about changing their nature and becoming their true self. Maybe their brown hair turning into a yellow hue,🤔
Could be rebirth. The nature idea doesn't come from nowhere though. Originally, the devs of P5 thought of making the cast in that game travel across Japan. They ended up using the idea for Strikers, though we might see it expanded further in 6, hence the whole ''nature'' thing. Who can say though
It’s a good theory but I’m not sure how it would relate to Persona Awakenings. Each game has a way of expressing peoples awakenings. Persona 3 is based on accepting your Morality (could be wrong, I’ve only played 4 and part of 5) Persona 4 is based on confronting your inner emotions and Accepting them Persona 5 is based on the willpower to Rebel against higher authority. I can see the message of Persona 6 going in two ways, expressing Creativity or, like you said, maybe Nurturing those around you and being kind. Based on how vibrant Persona 6’s green is, I feel like it represents Creativity a lot more. In nature, winter is typically seen as dead and barren, but when Spring rolls around, things become a lot more vibrant and green, and is typicaly painted a lot more as a result. I could see it going down a path of not letting people limit your Creativity. All throughout most kinds of media, we see scenes authors want to put in their works get censored by publishers or directors. By unmasking them, artists work become a lot more impactful as a result. (Look at Gravity Falls, the creator fought HARD for the series to stay the same as it is and it was a massive hit) In my opinion, I think Persona would love the message of not yielding to censorship, much like the previous messages of the games
Persona 6's theme should still be rooted in psychoanalytic theory as much as the other games. I wonder how they would want to bridge that gap between environmentalism and Jung. It seems like slightly more of a stretch compared to confronting death, accepting truth, and rebellion against corruption but its definitely possible. The only theme I can think of that I would put money on would be isolation vs connection. Think about it. The concept of cutting yourself off from the rest of the world, withering away like a plant without roots. How isolation is so often self imposed even though it can have so many negative consequences. How it can make you overly sensitive to outside criticism and fear/hate what you don't understand. How humanity as a whole has isolated so much from nature leading to our own demise and the demise of life on the planet. At the same time, too much connection can leave you paralyzed due to unrealistic expectations from others and how easy it can be to be manipulated by others as well. Bonds are so important but they should be meaningful connections between distinct individuals that respect each other, not a binding chain to wrestle control from one another. I think this theme is all too relevant with the pandemic being so recent, social media being dominant in our lives, the rise in loneliness especially among the youth, the changing climate, irrational fear/hatred of those who are different. But then again, Atlus might have a completely different idea for their game so idk.
According to inside people (who? Forgot haha) there will be duality, because it will be black and green, there will be 2 new game mechanics, 2 protagonists
I've heard that myself. I also heard it was supposed to be black and white instead of green. That'd be pretty cool. Either way; It's Persona. We're in for something cool.
Persona 6 may be our first aid in solving the mystery of the disease outbreak linked to Shadow's actions which is inspired by real events such as Pandemic COVID-19 & the Velvet Room will resemble a Lab
Not crappy at all! I mean ''nature'' is life right? Perhaps it could tackle the idea of artificial life? Or how human nature effects life? Persona 4 already tackled the detective side of things, but that doesn't mean we won't see some variation of it. Plenty of possibilities!
Green could also be associated with greed/wealth or envy/jealousy, or even something toxic rather than nature. And for all of those I feel like you could pretty easily justify most hair colors for the symbolism if you fudge it right
I'm running a Persona based D&D game based around healing trauma. Which is the way I hope P6 would go. I named the high school Kintsugi High. And, instead of the Seven Deadly Sins, the antagonists are warped versions of the Seven Heavenly Virtues.

“Farm simulator Persona isn’t real it can’t hurt you”
Farm simulator Persona:
You just burned down 5 whole kitchens… never cook again
Five? Only five? Rookie numbers. I'm aiming for ten by the end of the year.
I think I need to dye my hair I ain't tryna rep the soil gang
Iol
I would love for the final boss to be mother nature.
Green is associated with envy, although I can't say i've associated brown alongside with envy, unless we percieve brown as the inverse, humility.
Green will either be about natute or greed, one of the two
So we'll have great vegetables?
IS THAT LLOYD BANNINGS' HAIRCUT?!
LMAOOO
I said this jokingly in reply to another comment on here, but I genuinely think that if this line of thinking is accurate, Persona 6's main party could end up operating on a similar MO to Avalanche from FF7 with a Persona twist (that is, using their "other world" to destroy the embodiments of enterprises that are killing the Earth in order to save nature/the planet).
Ahem.
"AVALANCHE TIME MOTHERF###ER!!!"
Dude just confirmed we play as best girl Chie in persona 6 let’s fucking go
Green/Nature could also represent life, which could also have its own potential subcategories.
incase you don't know, persona franchise from 4-5 has been hinting about illuminati alot esp on p5
That's if they're going with a nature theme for the game we barely even know that green is the color let alone the meaning behind it
Since green is also associated with jealousy and envy, maybe they could have purple hair, since purple is a royal colour and people are often jealous of others, such as those who are wealthy (eg: royalty)
Maybe a stretch idk
Green isn't nature, its greed (probably im just a guy on the internet)
I don't know but I do believe its going to be Green
Great vegetables
Would've figured Yu's hair being gray would mean "That Truth isn't always black and white. Good or Bad kinda like how Adachi and Yu are the same just had different circumstances that led them to their path."
Yup! There's multiple ways to interpret it
If you know that persona is based off Carl Jung's psychology of the persona.
P6 can be about pollutions that linger in the society and it’s kinda make sense when we talking about nature
So the prediction for persona 6 is about environmental protection.
Can’t wait to be playing someone dirty
Persona 6 we become nature activists??
Maybe
Is funny how everyone thinks next Persona theme color is gonna be green, but who knows, personally I'm more eager to see something about the next main entry in smt
Pereona 6: We be fuckin goin back to GAIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh yea bouta garden so hard
Remember when P5 was supposed to be green as well ?
Maybe Persona 6 will be about healing.
Midori has confirmed P6 to be green i think it's a possibility
What if he has green hair and a brown suit
These are stretches lol
The colour green has a lot of meanings, but these are some exaples.
P6 themes (just my theory): Envy, money, stability, hope, nature, life and reborn
Velvet room: a bank or a private plane
Protagonist: yes, brown hair
The plot: if we take a look at the themes we see before, mostly would be about how money and wealth have an impact on society, those who do not possess those goods only feel envy, on the other hand those at the top are just tyrants. It would be interesting to see a haughty and arrogant protagonist (because of his parents) who with the passage of time completely changes his mentality, hence the theme of rebirth (although it would be better presented in a more mystical way), also it would be great if the next space cognitive was a dark forest or a garden labyrinth and that the way to invoke his Person was by burning a bill or dollar
This was literally translated with google translator lol
Cmon Joker, we gotta destroy the Mako Reactors!
Brief spoilers it's not confirmed yet but probably more probable than most of the theory's people come up with
3 represents death, his hair is blue because death is sad!
I love the persona fandom because they’re always grasping at straws trying to make meaning of every little detail, and yet are somehow always correct
I've waited 8 years for 6 man, it's a struggle out here. I'll take what I can get 😭
The way y'all keep thinking it's gonna be some nature thing. I hope it's rebirth.
Could be rebirth. The nature idea doesn't come from nowhere though. Originally, the devs of P5 thought of making the cast in that game travel across Japan. They ended up using the idea for Strikers, though we might see it expanded further in 6, hence the whole ''nature'' thing. Who can say though
P6 could be about money.
Therefore, the MC would be bald as to convey what most billionaires look like.
I just hope there’s no abilities for social links
It’s a good theory but I’m not sure how it would relate to Persona Awakenings. Each game has a way of expressing peoples awakenings.
Persona 3 is based on accepting your Morality (could be wrong, I’ve only played 4 and part of 5)
Persona 4 is based on confronting your inner emotions and Accepting them
Persona 5 is based on the willpower to Rebel against higher authority.
(Look at Gravity Falls, the creator fought HARD for the series to stay the same as it is and it was a massive hit)
In my opinion, I think Persona would love the message of not yielding to censorship, much like the previous messages of the games
Bro we gonna Go Green Peace
Maybe something to do with life? So like murders, maybe detective workings its a crappy thought but maybe someone can branch off
Not crappy at all!
And for all of those I feel like you could pretty easily justify most hair colors for the symbolism if you fudge it right
The real reason its green, is cause they ran out of primary colors for their highly graphic artstyle XD
P3 - 🔵
P4 - 🟡
P5 - 🔴
If green is for greed or money MCs color would probably be blond
To put it simply all of it is about creativity. Just use your imagination and write your own narrative.
Green could be money
I'm running a Persona based D&D game based around healing trauma. Which is the way I hope P6 would go.
I named the high school Kintsugi High. And, instead of the Seven Deadly Sins, the antagonists are warped versions of the Seven Heavenly Virtues.
Nice concept, I love D&D!
