  • The 30th anniversary of the Arthur Ashe limited edition range celebrates the link between the brand and the tennis champion. Four key pieces make up the minimalist collection to include a cardigan, track top, polo and a modern interpretation of the original Arthur Ashe shoe. Tricolour trimming, the 1975 practice logo and emblematic le coq sportif logos can be seen throughout in tribute to the greatest tennis player.
The Arthur Ashe crafted clay model is made from rich suede with a contemporary sole, notched in expanded EVA. Contrast colours of ochre and white with overlock and perforated details, along with the champion's original autograph, decorate the shoe. Each unique piece has been numbered by hand and made from the best in leather craftsmanship.
    Limited Edition : 83 samples
    Available only at www.lecoqsporti...
To complete this collector's premium range is an exclusive piece that was designed for Arthur Ashe in 1982 ; a zip-up jacket. Matching the essential piqué, cotton polo, the original version of le coq sportif cardigan is adorned with vintage details such as the v-neck and overlocked elbow pads.

Beau témoignage et belle histoire inspirante. Arthur Ashe aurait bien aimé être numéro un mais il ne l’a jamais été malheureusement .

Wow, that's an awesome experience and memory to cherish, MrPernell27. My family and I admired and respected Arthur greatly. As a kid, affording a Head Arthur Ashe Comp racquet was beyond my means. But, a few years ago, after having quit playing tennis for many, many years, I started playing again after purchasing a number of Arthur Ashe Comp racquets (1, 2, and 3) that I had always wanted to own. Yes, with a 69 sq. in. sized head, they're more of a challenge to play with (cf. my Babolat Pure Drive), but they still feel and play great IMHO, and they are beautifully elegant, like how Arthur played tennis.

Only Yannick Noah could talk about Athur Ashe that way and it isn't a matter of color.
