    I am digging how you two set that Pom up, Xin. Looks fantastic. I’ve been looking for a pomegranate at the grocery store all summer, I really want to start one of these and I appreciate the education I’m getting with your videos.
    Brother, my Burning Bush is doing the same thing! I hacked off a lot of top growth to propagate it, and now I have a handful of new shoots that took off like rockets. But everyone with more experience tells me it’s just single flush. I’m thinking the buds were dormant until the sun was able to reach them after the prune, just a theory though.

    • @MaybeBonsai
      @MaybeBonsai  2 года назад +2

      Thanks, I bought that pomegranate 2 years ago when it was unhealthy and on sale haha
      The burning bush if vigorous I find it will get new growth. May not get new growth everywhere you pruned but some branches will come out. I am also told it is single flush but I seen this new growth 2 years in a row now.

      @@MaybeBonsai I can’t seem to find a pom at any store/nursery, healthy or otherwise, up here. I figure if I can find a fruit in the grocery store, I can harvest the seeds and propagate it. Less expensive than have one shipped.

    Nice update on the benches and good pruning work! How old is the pomegranate by the way?

    • @MaybeBonsai
      @MaybeBonsai  2 года назад +2

      I bought it just under 2 years ago but I don’t know how old it is when bought. From the trunk size, probably got a good several years on it.

      @sbragaglia 2 года назад +1

      @@MaybeBonsai I had a suspect it was an older tree! I started a few pomegranate seeds last summer and they did all well but will take a long time before they get to the size of yours! Looking forward to see how you develop it!
