To those who may not know, the stations that the TOMC passed through are not directly connected on the same train route: 7 Av-53 St (B-D-E), Canal St (N-Q), 145 St (A-B-C-D), Queensboro Plaza (7) and Willets Point (7) stations are not one after the other. Must've taken several hours for this trip to tour through all those various lines. What's also interesting is these ex-IRT units can run on any main-line subway route, not all routes, but main-line ones. Used to ride those to school on the (3) line in late 80's which was ALSO a train of many colors (i.e. graffiti colors!!!) Thanks for sharing. Hope to return to NYC and ride one of those old schoolies once again.
Idk if you guys know, between roosevelt ave and woodhaven blvd , the rails had been grinded. When you ride either M or R train to forest hills, you'll hear the whirring sound
You know that rail grinder train , it was there this past weekend, which explains this nice 👍🏼 interesting sounds on the track rail between elmhurst ave to woodhaven
Yups i saw that :) , which means they used that rail grinder on the queens blv line and now we hear those whirring sound on rail tracks when heading towards forest hills. You should check it out. I recorded the ride on the M train on my iphone 7 as voice recording
Very nice job in shooting this vid! Clean and crisp. Always enjoyable seeing the rail cars that I grew up with. I hope to visit NYC soon and be able to ride this train. Interesting how the paint on these units seem to fade rather quickly. The caustic soaps in the "car wash" may be a contributing factor.
I got my results and found out I didn't get accepted to BARD High School in Queens, so I can't take the subway and I have to take an ugly school bus to Bronx Science instead!
At 2:01, why does the car have EXP on with a local 7 sign on it? :P Guess the EXP and LCL signs were useless once the new signs were out with the diamonds too. Back then, it was just letters.
if I went to new York City I would like to go on the train of many colours then those silver things without any history to them. it is like the old London underground stock which we just seen the last D78 retire from passenger working to get rebuilt as a diesel after a private rail tour in may.
100 Years of FUBAR on the 7! Lol. Happy 100th Anniversary of my favorite subway line! Seeing R36WF 9586-87 bring back fond memories!

Happy birthday, IRT Flushing Line and the 7 train.

Such a nice looking trainset! It's so nice to see it mixed with normal Kawasaki and Bombardier traffic!

Being a Londoner, NYC subway is a close 2nd to London. These fine trains will always epitomise the system to me.

Dj Hammers
I saw that colorful train while taking the 7 home from school the other day
I got my results and found out I didn't get accepted to BARD High School in Queens, so I can't take the subway and I have to take an ugly school bus to Bronx Science instead!
RJ Productions You're lucky!!! I didn't get into Bronx Science two years ago
Cool tomc 7 train.
I present the luckiest railfan in NYC: DJ Hammers!

What is the D78?
I was riding it.
Rainbow train is what I called it
Woah
When the vid first started the train was not on the 7 line. Where are the track connections made
The only physical track connection to the 7 from any other line is a scissor switch just past Queensboro Plaza.
thanks
