We finished the yr at Easter and took a Easter break and We started our math in mid may!!! We always start the school year with math!!! Nothing wrong with taking reading slowly!!! We love TGTB math but we aren’t using it at the moment!!! We love science videos!!! As you live in Hawaii I see nature studies as just seeing the beautiful nature!!! I don’t add too many unit studies!!! We love gather round but for our farm studies we decided not to use that unit study!!! I wanted to teach my kids where food comes from!!! I love teaching my kids Aussie traditions!!!

What a full year for your first year of homeschooling! Wowzers! Good on you for staying on top of so much! I can definitely relate with your comment of being careful to not add so many unit studies in. My oldest is 5 and I find if we jump around too much he just doesn't have the capacity or the desire for it so I can see us sticking to a small amount of unit studies over the course of a year. I loved just hearing what you liked and didn't enjoy for resources, there are so many resources out there and you just never really know till you try them with each individual child so thank you for openly sharing Maggy.
Yes totally!! It was much better towards the end of the year when we didn’t add too much! And each child is so different! 🥰

I’m from Montreal, Canada so I speak French, my husband is from Mexico and speaks Spanish! We speak daily all French, English and Spanish! 😀 it’s definitely great and the kids don’t realize yet how lucky they are!

We speak daily Spanish, French and English. It’s definitely easier since both myself and my husband are native speakers from French and Spanish! Good job on doing 2
