@MAhole617 oh very much so, if you watch some of his Colbert Report show from the early 2000s, he perfectly skewered the caricature of a right leaning talking head in a daily news talk show, exactly the kind of stuff being trundled out by Fox, CNN and the like at the time. He provided quite a clever counterpoint to the prevailing populist, rightwing views and commentary on the politics of the era which looked a little further than the headlines. Great team of writers too, but he really refined his character during The Daily Show years before launching out on his own. He was the perfect foil for Jon Stewart.
@MAhole617 Stephen Colbert's character on The Colbert Report was actually very funny, did funny interviews, and was just all around fun to watch. A huge juxtaposition from his late night talk show persona. It's actually crazy how good the Colbert Report was compared to how lame The Late Show is.

@@alphabee8171 You're right, Bautista is the best of the bunch and the GotG cast in general are the best Marvel actors in the sense we're talking about. But they're not most of the MCU so we're still on the same page.
I remember watching the entire interview and just laughing hysterically. The two of them were having such a good time. Colbert should return to this style of humor
It’s good but it’s probably really difficult and pretty niche, cause I guarantee like 1/2 the people who watched that interview thought it was serious and that Colbert actually didn’t know how big of an artist em was/is lol
Ohhhh!!! 😂😂😂😂. I get it now
Back when he was good
Colbert ruined his reputation when he became super political. His sense of humor just disappeared.
There's a really great episode of Malcolm Gladwell's podcast revisionist history, where he talks about how the Colbert show is a perfect example of satire being so good that it might actually be Self-defeating because the people who didn't understand that it was a parody felt like they really were watching a sort of libertarian troll hero be sincere
I love when Stephen colbert played this character. 🤣🤣
Em is 1 of the most humble dudes Never has to pay rent again, props
Yup, and this is a sketch
And he still sleeps on the couch.
He pays rent for his studio. And prob for alot of other rich people things like apartments in different cities and shit.
You guys know getting rich doesn’t mean life’s suddenly free right. His rent or mortgage is probably more per month then all four of our rents but it’s Pennie’s when you’ve got that kind of money

Is this off the cuff or a rehearsed skit?
@@petergould9174 I could t tell you if it was rehearsed or not but if you know Em and you know Colbert…they are both on the top of their game so the banter seems authentic to me. Colbert definitely knows who Em is. That’s what makes it funny. The irony of it. Even if he didn’t know (which he does) no way you would interview someone and know nothing about their fame. @@sisiscastle3573 (:) Agreed on Colbert. I know his style and work; it was an act. But ‘Em? I have no idea at that age how tuned in to the mainstream Em was.

This is Stephen Colbert in character, an absolute master of satire.
I wouldnt say master. You can tell its satire.
@MAhole617 Stephen Colbert's character on The Colbert Report was actually very funny, did funny interviews, and was just all around fun to watch. A huge juxtaposition from his late night talk show persona.
