I was born and raised in Latin America. Trust me, Oliver Stone has absolutely no clue what he's talking about. Boomers like him, have this romantic notion of a revolution, that comes from their silly perceptions from the 60s and 70s. They see those socialist tin pot dictators as good, when in reality, they're corrupt and inept.
Then, not surprisingly, he blames American sanctions, when he ignores the atrocious policies that Chavez and now Maduro, have enacted.

    • @palirvin1871

I like some of Stone's opinions but when it comes to Commies he never gets it. If he thinks that Venezuelans are a group to depend on or sympathize with then he does not know Venezuelans or their history. Venezuelans destroyed their on country because a Marxist Chauvez promised them 'free shit' and utopia. I was there 34 years ago, I don't care for Venezuelans.

So Trump the basically anti-war President is going to start a war with Venezuela? When in his first four years did the Abraham Peace Accords, did a peace deal with North Korea and walked across the DMZ, is it going to start a war with a second world (at best) South American country? And for Oil? America has energy and energy to sell!😂

Don't even need a war to get rid of the Maduro regime. His own people are aching to get rid of this "great guy", and at this point the situation in Venezuela is so untenable it'll only be a matter of time before the military turns on him. Very unlikely Maduro will still be around as president of Venezuela by the end of Trump's second term. Pretty unlikely he'll even be alive anymore.
      And good riddance.

      Venezuela makes it difficult?
      Lol
Sure that's why millions of Venezuelans have moved to Chile, Argentina & the U S?
Any 90 yr old would find it extremely difficult to travel to a foreign nation.
Also it's the U S that makes it difficult we are the ones who impose visa requirements
Which includes the need to get a American Visa which can only be obtained at a U.S Consulate or Embassy after submitting documentation of assets, income etc.
And after a cost of about $275.
Then they still would need to get a permission for their visit which would allow them to stay up to 3 months
Why don't you just go to Venezuela.?
Their visa requirements are far less restrictive as we can use our U S Passports & requests permission upon arrival .

My family has suffered a lot. He says he’s not a tyranny because “people can leave”. Is he aware of how people are leaving? Also that’s a ridiculous argument. The prisons, the stealing of elections, police brutality, are you kidding me? How can someone so talented be so clueless? Unless, because it fits his ideology, he can give Maduro and Chavez a pass. Then, that doesn’t make him clueless. That then makes them an accomplice.

People in Venezuela can leave whenever they want (if they have a house or apartment to sell), but they don’t leave because they want to-that would be tourism. Do you really think a woman takes her 2-year-old child and starts walking to the U.S., risking being bitten by a tiger or a snake, being assaulted, or even worse, becoming a sexual slave to some mafia, without knowing where her child will end up, just because she doesn’t like Maduro?
