I am American, I always loved three degree sinkers. The song “ when will I see you again” was the most broadcast song by Radio Air Vietnam, U S. soldier in Vietnam loved this song because we all want to go home. I am very disappointed that they didn’t get invited to sing in Queen Elizabeth 70 year Jubilee. Three Degrees, Bee Gee, and Sir Paul McCarthy were left out also. They are so iconic UK singers.
Wonderful group. Very very underrated. They are up there with all the greatest groups and the music, the singing, the style has stood the test of time.
It is weird for me. I was a 12 yr old when I was aware of this group. I am now 54 yrs old. Time is a motherf*cker ain't it? I will always remember these artists as I did as a kid. Thanks RUclips for helping me re-live my youth.
I observe this main vocal lady,Shelia of 3 degrees sing in a quite very differnt way from the one in 1974...She had opened her mouth widely and had shown her teeth with sharp voice...but this lady sing in a different way...with mouth close and much lower key voice and it seems she cannot sing the High chorus ??? She is like another person ???
Please let me say that The Three Degrees are at the top of 1970's TALENT and CLASS. These ladies were glorious and gave us all even as children happy life giving sounds. We actually healed our bodies by listening to it. I can't say enough how exceptional the 1970's were in human development pertaining to music. Music was at its pinnacle. The instrumental orchestral bliss was at its peak and I fear never will be heard again. I want to thank the Three Degrees - all of them for contributing life giving enjoyment through music the way it should be. God Bless them always. I truly admire their talent and wish society had not changed the values and criteria for what is good. Best Wishes for all of you. I tear up from the glory you gave us all. Thank you for real music. Amen!
+HHH100 ...What a true and heartfelt loving comment, I could not have expressed it better myself having been born in the 60's and bought up in the 70's...God Bless You and Yours...And thank you to the Three Degrees Music for being able to realise this very fact!
THREE DEGREES, FOREVER MY LOVE, MY HEART IS BROKEN WHEN I CANNOT HEAR YOUR MUSIC. WHEN I WILL SEE YOU AGAIN IS MY TOP SONG. GOD LIFE FOR ALL OF YOU, FOREVER TANHK YOU.
Remember Rollo trying to be their manager he cracked me up when he said " You're supposed to be ready to rehearse, 'we're ready' Well Lets get ta' gettin'" lol!
I HAVE BEEN A FAN OF THE THREE DEGREES SINCE I WAS A CHILD AND IT IS GREAT THAT THEIR MUSIC IS STILL FLAWLESS. THE THREE LADIES HAVE GOT TALENT. I AM LUCKY AS I HAVE JUST BOUGHT VIP MEET AND GREET TICKETS FOR MY NEIGHBOUR AND I AND WE CAN NOT WAIT TO MEET THESE GREAT ENTERTAINERS IN APRIL.
I will fore er love you dudettes!!! One particular song will be with me till I die. Thanx for that one song, couldn't think of not having that song, it's the bomb!!!!
I am 60 years old, grew up in New York City and lived the 60's, 70s. I just listened to the third degree for the first time on the channel 49, soul town channel. Wow, where the hell was I? Fantastic, beautiful sound.
I didn't realise they were on BBC about 5 years ago promoting their work wonderful shelia couldn't be there but great to see shelia you're so amazing TV singer actress wow wow wow xxx
I fell in love with valerie holiday when i was in high school. After watching this video, i am 63 yrs old, and i am still in love with her!! Lookin' beautiful as usual val.
Essas jovens senhoras são lindas maravilhosas amei ver elas curtia muito as músicas delas uma em especial me fez apaixonar ...Deus abençoe elas por fazer parte da minha vida
I have done sound for a fairly good lot of engagements, I see in The Three Degrees an awesome vocal and dancing floor show. Probably the best floor show I have ever seen.
"when will i see you again" that hit was my shit, im only 35 and i wasn't even born in the 60's and 70's, but during my childhood the good old songs were on commercials and listening to the records my momma always played made me love that song, it's good to see them doing well alive and kicking except ms. fayette pickney who passed in 2009 r.i.p. to her, like a female temptations group, all of the temptations members passed away, r.i.p. to those guys..
I'm a 67 year old former rock and roll drummers, always loved your music even though it was not my thing. Even Abba was not my thing,...too square. But I was never sure which one of you were the most beautiful, ALL STONE FOXES. I AM ENJOYING YOUR MUSIC JUST AS THE SHIRELLES, ABBA, ETC. I DID NOT APPRECIATE MOTOWN ENOUGH. THANKYOU FOR GREAT MEMORIES.
With all respect to these ladies, and praying that all are still with us, Sheila Ferguson truly was The Three Degrees…And Fayette Pinkney’s untimely death changed the original sound of this group.
I still remember clearly that When Will I See You Again, back in '74, and it's become a permanent piece of my repertoire!! Sounds lovely on this 5-string J-Bass!! 🎸 Just wish I had someone to do the vocals 🎤 & keyboard 🎹, & everyone could join in the chorus & dancing!! 🌕👠🏌️♂️🏌️♀️ Wha'dya think?
I think maybe if the group breaks up or a member leaves it’s better to start afresh with a new name. They still have the prestige of the original group attached just seems a bit more honest.
Me and my three sisters came to see you at wakefield on the 10 of February, we have been fans of your since the early 70s and really enjoyed the show, but we were so disappointed you didn't come to see your fans afterwards up in the bar .
that first group for me is still the best when fayette left and helen came in they managed that change but when sheila left I felt it was a step too far they are still good but first three still the best for me
There's a world of difference between the two groups, like Freddie said, it was like joining a female Temptations group, although The Supremes started as a sister group to The Temptations, but w/The Supremes, u only had one person (Diana Ross) singing lead on everything, & the other two ladies (however how many) singing background from the cradle to the grave. (Sorry Florence), & w/The Temptations, they had three lead singers, & The Three Degrees (however how many) all sing leads, which is only fair. If Motown wanted one singer & two backgrounds, Gordy should have made it clear that his bitch was singing lead & the other two would be singing behind that slut puppy, then they could decide if they wanted to stay or move on to a greener pasture. That was the reason David Ruffin was fired because he wanted the group to be named David Ruffin & The Temptations, & that was impossible since two other guys was singing lead. Same thing happened to The Marvelettes & Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, one person sings all leads & the rest of the girls sang background. That's bullshit, but every dog has their day, but for some, it wiil be the rest of their lives. There's a payday for everybody & that goes especially to Motown who plays favoritism!

High school friends wow! Angelic voices. One of my fave band, growing up..unbeleivable costumes. Unforgettable!
We were very lucky to have grown up in that era.

Love them. They've aged very well also. Still playing "When will I see you again" till date
without Sheila Ferguson it's not the same, i'm sad..
true
She's irreplaceable. So scintillating. But respect to her for wanting to give her daughters the family life she didn't have.
