There's a bug on his 2nd skill where sometimes the 2nd phase isn't triggered even after you get close to the target. By the way he also got a buff when playing with shouyue.
The buff is not just with Shouyue, I think, but also with the other Great Wall Guards, who are Kaiser, Mulan, and Su Lie (Su Lie is a tank who is not yet available on global server).
I've tried Xuance twice in Solo Simulation Mode and man, he's hard to use. I'd even argue his difficulty is the same as Luna because you need quick decision making and reflexes for using his rapid dashes. In exchange to that, he's a VERY REWARDING hero once you've mastered him, as seen in the video. Just yesterday i've met a really good Xuance and it was a breeze supporting him as roamer. With all that being said, you better prepare for the usual problem when a hard hero got released; players trying him out and failed miserably which will grieve your game. Considering that, i'd ban him in Ranked for at least 1 week or until the season end. I mean, for that 1 godlike Xuance from earlier, i get matched with 4 trash Xuance that just feed for the entire game so.... All in all, Xuance is easily an A+ tier for me just because of his potentials. If you're interested on maining him, make sure to at least play like 5-10 games in Normal mode before going to Ranked so you could get used to how his kit feel. Personally, using him reminds me of using Yao (my favorite hero), so i'll try learning him for sure.

The reason i think he's that hard is because of his do-or-die playstyle due to his lack of reliable escape skills (his ult need some setups before it could be used to escape). I think his skill 2 should go through minions. Right now, early game ganking with this hero is really weird because once you land your hook on minion (especially a canon minion) you only have two choices. You either kill the minion (now enemies have time to retreat) or you walk away to break the chain (at this point, it's not even ganking anymore). In my opinion , the devs should make the hook either go through minions or give him the ability to cancel on targets you don't want to.
One thing to note here is that his s2 gives a "hunter" effect on you and enemy caught. If you grab/tap the ability again, the enemy and you will lose the hunter effect. Hunter effect makes you actually tanky when dueling since you get damage reduction on that hunted enemy and they get slowed, you get ms, you deal bonus damage as well. So if you're playing Xuance and you gt into 1v1, don't immediately use your s2, only use it when enemy is going to run away, if the s2 hook will run out, or you can just basically pull the enemy to your team it's up to you. This guy is fun to play man
If i may add, the chain effects also applied to jungle monsters and will increase all of his dmg, INCLUDING SMITE. In other words, Xuance is quite good for stealing enemy's monsters (especially the buffs) during early-mid game when the jungler died or solo-ing the neutral dragons (pretty useful to do it sneakily in late game when both teams are afraid to show on the map)
@@vagrant87 The idea is still the same, use Smite as late as possible UNLESS you're confident that the enemies won't steal your targets. Just keep in mind that the last-hit indicator (the white bar you mentioned) doesn't get updated with the bonus Smite's dmg, so you have to use it a bit above the line (before the bar turned white). Also, be wary of the chain duration
Bought him for a discount at 6,944 starstones. I got my ass beat by ai at first but in the second time, I got the grip. As the passive said, be far but reachable for peak damage. Perfect for farming Overlords.
Tips: he is very weak against high burst type junglers,like dian wei. He gets his least power spike after axe of torement. And he is not an usual assassin who can enter and kill you wiil have to set them up and out play. Also he deals 25% more damage to those hero who in the end area of his range. Be mindful about it and also after all this skills he is a basic attack based hero not a skill based hero like nakoruru,butterfly. Thank you.❤
@@CodisFunYT Dian Wei’s passive is really easy to stack against xuance and gives attack range, to the point where xuance doesn’t even outrange him, xuance loses unless Dian Wei misses his 2nd ability.
Not a new idea, but, tank Xuance in roaming. He is deceptively tanky (when ults correctly) and slippery and also able to gap close and singling opponent relatively quickly with flash and S1. A advantage of him is that you don't have to commit to every hook so playing him with skill is very safe believe it or not

Man i really want to jungle and roam lane, but i hate having a jungle or roam item and then boots. It is such a waste of a slot item for some better item.
I assume you're talking about the tier 3 items. If yes, you do realize that you could just delay and left them as tier 2, right ? But most importantly, did you realize that the Tier 3 items (both jungle and roaming) are LITERALLY THE MOST EFFICIENT ITEMS in the game ? For the T3 jungling items, if you add the stats from the base items + stacks, you'll notice that they gave THE 2ND HIGHEST STATS for each types. Heck, the jungling axe (the one for tank heroes) gave THE HIGHEST HP OUT OF ANY ITEMS. That's not even counting the mov spd and CDR, arguably 2 of the most powerful stats in-game for any heroes. As for the T3 roaming items, they're even better. On top of the mov spd and CDR, both their active and especially their passive abilites are game-changing. Keep in mind that their passive is an aura, meaning it ALSO AFFECT ALLIES
I'm going to ban this guy, not because he's annoying to deal with like loong or augran, but everytime my teammate who got jungler use him, it's always a feeder
Not that good since his kit lacks both built-in sustain/tankiness AND good enough BA modifiers compared to others like Liu Bei, Augran, or Butterfly. To put it simply, he's just too squishy and doesn't deal enough DPS in the early-mid game with his BA
Not viable mainly because HoK doesn't have Runes, which in AoV gave Enzo some bonus abilites that help him sustain, be tanky, or deal dmg thorought the game depends on which you use. Technically, you could do the same by tweaking the Arcana you'll use on Xuance, but it's just not enough

Nah the early game of this hero isn't bad you just gotta use his CC a lot, I mean the pull and the knock back is already really good you can spam that for a bit with the CD boot and switch it when you have enough items, the damage shouldn't be bad, I guess 😅,I was just practicing him on low ranks😅😅😅

his skills actually have synergy his gameplay is just difficult because you need a lot of situation awareness since he is a squishy brawler and his early game is pretty bad, you need decent teammates to help you

Tips for anyone who play Xuance:
Don't hook any hero (mostly jungler) that's already been fed, you'll most likely 'cause your entire team be Aced lol.

Luna is harder to use than him. He's really not that hard honestly. Like everyone say he's extremely squishy so you gotta be smart when you go in.

Already met a few of those players that love to try new heroes on ranked. 5 games and losing 5 stars... All the the time the xuance players just feed

Actually it does, and it will land on furthest target in range. If you let 2 puppets standing in line you will notice this
