I feel like the texture of the screen does make things a little more pleasing for me sense I’m used to paper but it’s different for everyone!
I like that this creates a digital copy of your physical work. Never lose your digital work again, cause you have physical copies that were actually drawn and not a copy
Also, if you pay really close attention to the narrator’s voice, you can hear technical imperfections that make it obvious that this is artificial intelligence.

Also if you don’t like the slippery glass i recommend textured screen protectors it stops your screen from getting damaged to and there are grips to put on your Apple Pencil to make it more comfortable and I say this as a traditional artist who also draws digitally
@@emily-ld9st It doesn't wear it down any faster than normal use does. I've had my ipad for four years, near daily use for 2-4 hours of drawing a day. I've changed the textured screen protector once, and only had to change nibs in that four years so far which was just in January. It's really a non-issue to consider lmfao.
No artist on this earth started digital art easily after switching from traditional, it literally pushes a "reset" button in everybody's mind. And even those who are absolutely used to digital art have to have a physical sketchbook for studies, brainstorming, testing and meaningless/ugly art. It's as common as starting to take traditional art more seriously than kindergarden level and realizing that your stroke confidence, lineweight and shading just lost all the "confidence" part by realizing that you are super far from the others. So yeah, it's healthy and happens to every human being. ❤

It is hard at first when you switch to digital but there are definitely better ways to work around that for me it was sketching on regular paper taking a picture and work over that in digital which helped me get more comfortable with the new medium and improve over time to the point of getting good at sketching in the tablet directly... So yeah even if the issue does exist this is not the easiest way to solve it

there are also screen protectors that simulate the texture of paper. My friend hated the slippery ipad texture while doing notes and it helped remove that issue, also a lot cheaper then an entirely new digital notebook that still creates the issue of notebooks taking up space and material
I'm the opposite and other artists I know have done the same. Have a wacom cintiq pro 24.. went from traditional to fully into digital, now back at traditional and gathering dust on the wacom. Something about digital is just soul less..
i recommend getting a paper screen protector. buying this which is really expensive and you cant have any of the perks of digital of art like undoing instead of having to erase and so much more. the screen protectors is gonna feel like real paper but for so much cheaper

Its not impressive anymore when i realize this is how i used to draw with my wacom intuos tablet i put paper over it to stop the glide and it worked essentially the same. Despite that its still a cool gadget but i agree a bit overpriced

Why not just draw traditionally and use a scanner to port it over for digital linework or touchups? I doubt the special paper can process things like erasing or color.
It’s not really special paper. They sell their own paper, but you can use any paper that fits on it. All it’s really doing is acting as a drawing tablet, you’re just lying a piece of paper on top of it. I think the pen is the most important part, acting as a pen and stylus at the same time.

bruh , i think i needed this, at first i used to do a lot of traditional art (for like abt 6 yrs) but then like kinda recently i tried digital , at first i traced my own drawing and after a few months i finally got the hang of it 😅
This looks really cool and can definitely help a lot of people! A friend of mine actually found another solution to the slippery glass surface issue if that’s the big thing. There are screen protectors that have the paper texture so it sounds AND feels like you’re drawing on paper. He also uses a pencil grippy to help with the uncomfortable stiffness of the digital pencil. To each their own obviously so do what feels right :))
If you need to erase it, maybe draw without the paper. But if you did draw with the paper, if you need to erase something, it's not gonna erase in real life and will probably just erase the drawing in the digital one
As someone who draws traditionally and digitally. I 100% agree, the texture is so different that I forfet how to draw sometimes. But if im on paper its so quick and easy 😂 it gets better over years but it sure does still feel different.
A tip from and artist who does both: Just practice digital art more and u will get used to it. Instead of buying something expensive to give u the cheap feel of what u are familiar with. Dont be afraid to adapt. Learn digital tools and other digital artist setups and shortcuts and u are good to go.
