I have installed this flooring, Drawback was starting in one corner and running strips. Takes math to make it work, Second I was lucky to have a old school paper cutter. Works wonders when making cuts. NO BS. I did need to use a heat gun to make the seems perfect. Any seems not perfect i went back with a fine sanded grout and filled the seems. It is not like laying tile in any way. But it does look nice.

How has your floor stood up over time? I am thinking of installing it and want some real-life experience view points.

it has held up well, however has separated just in areas where we have moved furniture across the floor. I feel if we had kept it tight against the wall and not left a gap under the trim that would not have happened. I have it all through my house and it's still looks the same as when we put it down outside of those few sections with a 1/8th inch gap on the ends we have behind furniture. side to side there is no gaps .

Expansion gaps are necessary for floating LVP. Shoe molding installed on the trim gives your floor more room to move while sufficiently covering gaps around the walls.

How did you prep the floor? I have cement floors in a small rented downstairs office. Carpet got flooded so I ripped that off to reveal gray primer. I didn't want another carpet (twice flooded) Looking at carpet squares, sticky tiles, and clicked this. You guys made it sound so fun. Statute of limitations expired so landlord won't pay for it. Rent is right so I can do this.

Did miss something? I thought the directions said not to have joints at less than 6"?

nosirrahm This floor has been down for 6 years and counting. Yes we could of taken the time to stagger the joints but honestly it didn’t make a bit of difference or do we even notice it. We were trying to get across that anyone can put this floor down even if u put no thought into it and it will be holding its own for many years. Best decision we have ever made.

nosirrahm yes they are but we didn’t take the time for all that. It’s not noticeable under a bed in that area and since it hasn’t had one bit affect on the the lifetime of the floor we kept moving. It’s still down and wearing great.

Some people dont like that look. You can either have even cuts in every other row, or the planks can be staggered for a more natural/random look. However this guys stagger looks pretty bad. You want your seam minimum 6 inchs away from adjacent rows. I like to use a full plank, then about a 1/3 plank, then about 3/4 plank for my first 3 rows then stagger like that from there. Making sure seams dont line up when you look across the room even seams 3-6 rows away should be staggered at least a few inches.

Shawn Sikes those seams were under the bed area. We were trying to make a point for people that think they can’t do it themselves they can even if it isn’t perfect. No one has yet walked in our house and said looks great but your seams are to close. U don’t even notice it.l so I’m glad we just rolled with it and made it a fun job. Floor is still down and looks great.
