In 2016 I arranged a 3 days tour from Nukus and saw the new shore of the Aral sea. It was a great time. We feel the fresh air but the water is as salty as the dead sea and in the sea we are also floating. Most of fishes do not survive. I think nothing can be done to save the part on Uzbekistan. Only the part in Kazakhstan where they built a dam and created "the small Aral sea". It's so sad. I recently learned that the Caspian sea is also shrinking now.
I have read about the projects of Kazakhstan to restore the remaining lakes from Aral and they actually work so far. I have not seen much from Uzbek side. Karakalpaks and Kazakhs die from health conditions caused by this catastrophe.
hi bro, I really like this trip and really appreciate your sharing. and also I have a question, how much will this route cost per person? it seems like a little expensive.
So sad to see one of the worst ecological disasters in the world dry up at one point the 4th largest lake in the world. Not only that, but it devastated the fishing industry and market in the surrounding Turkic countries and decimated an ecosystem killing off many endemic fish. Hopefully it can make some kind of return at least, but the damage is done.
@@MakeAdventureHappen Most of the lake is gone forever, but on the Kazakh side lies the north Aral Sea that has been growing and thriving since it has been dammed
@@MakeAdventureHappenI looked at recent satellite photos and it’s indeed not drying up at all. Maybe you can take a visit to the north side in the future.
I would really like to visit Uzbekistan♥one day and explore this amazing country and their delicious food ♥♥

so cool! hope the sea makes a comeback
that would be cool, but I doubt it's happening...
If they stop diverting the flows of the two rivers which used to feed the lake with water, the lake might revive slowly
But that would mean stopping gas production there (or what they are doing there), so I guess they won't do that

I saw the same thing - probably now the sea was much further away than it was in 2016
Great video. Very cool. We had a similar disaster with Salton Sea in California. Completely destroyed the entire ecosystem.
that's crazy what can be done....
Wow Karakalpakstan ❤
Beautiful 🤩

Maybe Uzbekistan is more interested to not have a sea (so they can get to gas and minerals more easily)
What was your favorite part?
want to go there in future!
Amazing place 👍

Around 400 USD for max 3 people. 4 people - around 800 USD
If you’re alone - around 400 usd
so, the price for only one person is same to three people?@@MakeAdventureHappen
Yes, you pay per car not person
got it, thank you bro@@MakeAdventureHappen
🖤
👍
I'm told the North Aral sea is recovering, and there is commercial fishery there. Is this true?
I haven’t heard of it. I don’t know that see that much but seems strange to me (if it keeps shrinking on this side)
Kazakhistan Side of Aral Sea recovering a little bit…
I live in Nukus, I am crying now, because it’s our global catastrophe!
Crazy…

According to what I’ve read, the sea is gone forever…

Don't forget that this was initiated by the Soviet Union, a country which was lauded by some as superior to Western Europe and North America.
