THANKS!!! As a guy who is only in moderate condition at the moment, but has a strong knowledge of my capacity from previous states of high conditioning, i was struggling like crazy trying to decide what size kettlebell to start with...i must've watched a dozen videos yesterday...if I'd found yours first i wouldn't have even bothered looking for anymore input! thanks again, am off to the store :)
Best recommendation for starting weight. I’m an out of shape senior. And, the ten overhead lifts is a good method, not prescriptive weights which may be better for younger, more active people. I went with a 15 lbs weight to start with. Over the next several months I hope to be using the 26 lbs which I have from 15 years ago.
Thank-you for explaining this so clearly, i was so confused as to which one i should get, I bought a 4kg but then heard it was too light so bought an 8, its so heavy but I've listened to you so will go with it. I'm 4"10 and 7 stone 13 pounds and reasonably fit i want to get back to 7stone my happy weight , i work out every week try to everyday but that's not always possible so its more like 5 days for an hour and i eat healthily. x
Thank you, the best advice so far. I went out and bought a 16Kg one based on what other's advised. However, it is too heavy for overhead really. But it sounds like I should have gotten a 12 and a 20! Which is somewhat annoying. That said, if I get the 12 it may not be long before that is too light and I can use the 16 for overhead work.
Pretty good advice about the weight. I wish I would have seen this before I bought my first KB. It was to light after a few weeks and I had to buy a heavier one. Now I have one 8kg, two 16kg and one 24kg Kettlebell. Using the 16kg for the most time or both of them if I want to go for heavy squats and stuff.
Great video very informative feel better now knowing i got a 12kg i struggled on reps overhead press and thought I'd bought too heavy i can see how using k bells can be a killer cant wait to get into it
The imperial weight system is not used anymore, not even by Britain that invented it. Everywhere you go here in the UK weights are measured in kilograms. The US is the only country in the world that is stuck in time and still uses lb and oz to measure weight. Smh.

Thank you sooo... MUCH, I've been looking for an informative outlook on what weight to go with based on personal thoughts when lifting (One's EGO) 🍻🍻

You discovered what I was just thinking. For men, a 12,16 & 20kg trio set is perfect for starting out.
@@Ramcharger or 24kg instead of 20
@@Ramcharger for heavier lifts like squats and deadlifts 53lb single kb is nice

Squatting is generally done with at least your body weight, you'll pass that 32kg in no time
@@glacialimpalayou're speaking of traditional barbell squats

You are gonna love it! I've been at it 3 years and live for KB now. Also: Check out the Mind Pump videos for kettlebell workouts.
Very good explanation!! Thanks a lot !!
Most people recommend way too much for beginners. Well done.

Perfect video as I am just getting started. Answered my questions. Thanks.

How about the adjustable kettlebell? This way you get multiple kettlebells in one.
Great advise, very helpful thank you.
Thank you so much! That was really helpful ❤
Very thorough review. Thank-you...

Yeh why? So frustrating having to calculate in your head into kg
The rest of the world is metric as the US should be.
