      Yeah, the rules add another level to the racing experience. But I'm still not sure which way is correct. He was a lap down so he should have gotten it back, but it would have put him a lap ahead after everyone else pitted. So it get complicated sometimes. 🙂 Thanks for watching.

    Nice track, one of my favorites I have seen. I really like the safety car. I'm looking at starting a digital wireless track set up looking for best way to see if the grandkids like the scale over my HO track. Thanks for sharing. I have to look into the apps some more as well.

      @@rickrideout Well, I do have family and friends that like to, but it'd be nice to have others too, so I can race more often. My 8 year old grand daughter loves to race. She can handle the lane changes and pit stops too. She beat four adults on our 1st annual Thanksgiving day race.

      I'll blame it on the technical issues (cameras and recording problems) at the beginning of the evening that put us later in the evening than normal. So we were a bit more tired and may be not as focused on racing. Thank you for watching. 🙂

    How do you disable the pits during the VSC? I don't recognize that as a Smartrace function so you have some wizardry happening there.

    • @rickrideout
      @rickrideout  2 месяца назад +1

      Well, it's not a Smartrace function. It's more like wizardry that requires a lot of work. First you need external caution buttons which activate the start button on the control unit. I did a video on how to tap into the control unit and add external caution (Start) buttons. ruclips.net/video/Av_OwjUfdx4/видео.html Then I figured out I could use the caution buttons to power relays that will activate the start button on the CU, power the pace car and kill (disable) the LED senor to the pit lane switch. See this video ruclips.net/video/qUq-hY4Ke8M/видео.html It's not a step by step how to video but it should give you some ideas on how to do something like it yourself. Let me know if you have any question. 🙂

      @@rickrideout Disable the LED; that makes sense. I might try this. I've already set up external caution buttons and anti collision sensors on the switches so this sounds doable. Thanks for the insights!
